Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numberous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

Games, when possible, will have their SKU number posted. Please post any SKU numbers you have that aren't already in the list!

Also, some stores will be able to give you a price adjustment if your clearance game(s) drop-- if not, you can always try to return and rebuy the game(s).

I got extremely lucky and picked up 3 of the (12 months plus a month) cards in the clamshells. They are $39.99 and do qualify for the B2G1F sale. I also used the $10 off $50 coupon that TRU sent us and walked out the door with all three for $69.98. I forgot that their was not tax on this item.
 
Are there enough clearance games to justify making an hour road trip?

grabbed 3 copies of Jewel Master: Cradle of Athena out of 20 today for the DS


32 bucks out the door ... they trade in for 13 each at amazon...

can play them for a week and toss them to amazon and make 7 bucks :)

im shocked amazon is paying 13 for a used game when they cost 15 new
 
Bought today (all were clearanced):

Red Steel 2 (with MotionPlus) (Wii)
Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes (DS)
Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero (PSP)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes Of Time (DS)
Two copies of Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii)

Total with tax was $104. I should be able to sell the two copies of MPT for around that much after fees (I already own a copy), so hopefully the other four games will be free or close to it. Great clearance, great selection. Going to check out another store or two tomorrow.
 
Ok, went through some trouble to scan a couple of games to see more games that are on 25% off.

All of them ps3, so in guessing 360 version are the same price .

FIFA world cup 40

Ff13 45 but this game was on 25% off so came 33 N change.

So did guitar hero metallica. Price was 27 but scanned 20 and change.

And I'm guessing the thing if GH5 and van halen.

Bayonetta scanned 35 to 26ish.

Hope that helped some. Anyone wanna share their experience ?
 
Don't know if this has been posted but, Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles for the Wii was on clearance at my local Toys R Us. It was going for $34.98 but with the extra 25% off it came out to be $26.23

He's probably correct that it ended in a 9. I purchased a 29.99 game that was on clearance for 22.49. I don't know whether it's a glitch or not...

Oh, I got it, that was the price before the 25% off, bringing it to 20 bucks. I bought it with Resistance 2 and Socom Confrontation for about 38 bucks as part of B2G1-Free

People have been reporting it is ringing up at $19.99 but on 25% clearance which drops it to $14.99. I suppose if you bought three, that would be three for thirty, but I'm not sure what the point of that would be.

This is correct. TRU doesn't PM. Not even to TRU.com.

Only during the holiday season...last year they pm for Xmas.

edit: I got some game pm during that time...they had a sign posted of what you needed for them to pm near the registers.

It rang up at $19.99, and took 25% off, for a total of $14.99 (for 1 copy). This was on Tuesday.

Have also had Ratchet & Clank: CiT and Bayonetta (360), both of which are priced at $29.99, ring up with 25% off. I know bayonetta was on clearance last week, I think it was $3X.98.

Yeah, Mass Effect 2 just dropped on Monday; sounds like someone goes to a TRU with lazy employees who don't do the markdowns.

It may be TRU policy not to price match but I can tell you that some if not all CS reps at TRU online were price matching to amazon during the Halo Lengendary sale last week. I was surprised when they did price matched. I was actually floored.

I'm pretty sure they price matched a 360 cable to TRU.com a few years ago. There are policies, and then there are human beings.

So is there some 25% sale still going on other than the clearance 25% off? I thought it had ended and it was just clearance 25% off now. Maybe there's a glitch and all games are getting 25% off?

The 25% off clearance got extended through 10/17. Some games are glitching and still giving 25% off like MAG which was clearance priced at $54.98 before the MSRP drop to $29.99 last week.
 
It seemed like half the electronics section was on clearance at my TRU. Everywhere you looked there were red clearance stickers. All over the MP3 players and speakers, different wires, portable DVD players, some DVDs, cds... the least clearanced items were the video games 8o(

Plus they changed up the games section. Now they have "most" of the regular games in cases grrrrrrrrr...and no clearance stickers on the games (maybe they just haven't gotten to that yet) so you can only tell by the 8's. Then they have a smaller 19.99 and under area with the games sitting out. Stupid thing is they still have clearance stuff scattered everywhere.

Actually, yes. This is exactly what happened. Maybe more than once by the 2 weeks comment. I know my managers said they we stopped PM'ing tru.com a couple months ago. Maybe they were premature or maybe it started and stopped again.

I don't think there was ever a formal match policy, at least not in the past few years. Individual managers could always do an override and my understanding is that some would match TRU.com, but it sounds like corporate formally told them to stop doing it a few weeks ago. As such, it doesn't really help or effect any of us since most stores never did it anyway.

Yeah, I picked up a "$320" HP mini 210 for 245 out the door. Bought it for the GF...tired of her lugging around her giant ass brick of a Dell. Ha. (It was 25% off plus on sale for 15 off).

No, as was already explained above, the 25% off clearance has been extended through October 17th. A few games got an MSRP price drop in the last week or so and Toys R Us didn't update the computer to show that they were no longer on clearance. As such, they ring up for the new MSRP and you still get the additional 25% off. That's what's going on with MAG, ME2, etc...

I get that, I know how to read, and I stated as much in my original post. However, I might be wrong, but I don't believe Ratchet was every on clearance.

Actually, I believe it was. Just not really that low. I'm think I either saw it at $54.98 or $49.98 a few weeks back.

So you're saying only games previously on clearance last week would apply to the glitch. Has anyone tried games on clearance beyond last week that are no longer on clearance? Is there any post of the games that had drops other than MAG, ME2, Ratchet & Clank: CiT, Bayonetta (360), FF13 or is still on clearance, gh metallica.

I tried Silent Hill for the Wii and it didn't work. It looks like the glitch is very specific to price drops in the past week or so.
 
Tekken 6 ps3 also is on clearance for 14.99 after 25% discount (msrp now 19.99).

Does anyone know if you buy three 29.99 games, and one of them is still marked as clearance, say MAG (22.49 after 25% off), then would MAG ring up at 22.49 or qualify as the free game instead? Since they are all the same price before the discount is applied, it seems that the order that they are scanned may determine which one is free.

Ok so last night I bought Little Big Planet, MAG, and the XB360 rechargeable pack that you plug into the wall.

I gave them to her in that order and they rang up 29.99, 22.XX, and 0. So I don't know if it matters how it's scanned, but there's a way to get the most bang out of your buck, yes.
 
Thanks for the heads up on this deal! Picked up Mass Effect 2 and Riddick for the 360 and Fight Night 4 for PS3...total was $32 out the door.

Came out to $62.xx thanks to the 25% off clearance games. Dante's Inferno should have been the free game but I guess they don't figure the extra 25% off on the price. :lol:
 
Picked up 3 games with the 25% off

Had to price check a few to find ones that would ring up at 25% off that were in the $29.99 to $34.99 range.
 
Does the third game scanned always become the free one if more than one game has the same price? Like a $29.99, a $19.99, a $19.99 or other type of variant.

Thanks! Yeah you got a good deal since if MAG were the free game you would have paid 60 instead of 52..

B2G1 is over, but the clearance games still seem to be going. Just picked up ME2 for $14.99. Oddly enough it was posted at $26.98.
