Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numberous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

Games, when possible, will have their SKU number posted. Please post any SKU numbers you have that aren't already in the list!

Also, some stores will be able to give you a price adjustment if your clearance game(s) drop-- if not, you can always try to return and rebuy the game(s).

hmm how accurate is this? i see fire emblem shadow dragon listed for 10 bucks but their website shows it at 30 still. Id go in and check but last time i went in everythign was MSRP in there, i saw almost no marked down stuff

Also, you need to scan the items or have them rung up to know the actual price because clearance items are oftentimes not tagged with the right price. I'd say TRUs here match what is reported on clearance about 95% of the time.

The scanning advice really applies to just about all stores discussed on CAG. Most of the time you get a good deal it's because you know the actual price, but noone else does because it is still marked with MSRP or a similar high price.
 
I went to TRU today, but I didn't see any evidence of the B1G1 50% off on clearance games deal. I also didn't see any clearance games.

I did see Call of Duty World at War for Wii for $9.98, which seemed like a good deal. It's over $20 at Amazon. I'm not interested in COD games, though, so I didn't pick it up.

FYI Call of Duty World at War goes up to $19.99 on Monday.

Have to head over to get diapers today anyway...guess I'll be keeping an eye out for .98 games. Won't get anything too major though just bought a bunch of stuff on the cheap so it would have to be something worth it.

Not sure if this has been discussed but Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep :psp: has also fallen into the $20 category.

Speaking of stuff that was on clearance but went off clearance, besides :ps3:Uncharted:roll: I've been told that if they restock it that :ps3:Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Ultimate Edition will be back to $49.99.:cry::roll:
 
I can understand marking back up Uncharted since it was 80% off MSRP at $6 but clearly Command and Conquer didn't sell well for them at $59.99 (since it appeared to have gone right from $59.99 to $9.98) so I don't get how they think it will suddenly sell at $49.99.

Actually I believe they marked up Uncharted again so they could claim it was a 'great deal' when it was marked down $15 for Black Friday.

I mentioned the 'big sale coming up' to the employees when I was buying copies at $6 each to sell to CAG's who couldnt find it in their area and they laughed at how stupid it was to mark it back up only to reduce it in price another week or two later for BF.

TRU is the only chain I've ever seen clearance priced items go back to MSRP before at. Most other places keep reducing them till they either hit 90% off or 'penny out' and are junked out/returned to vendor.
 
Sears and Target also take items off clearance and raise them to full price sometimes.

When I bought Uncharted I didn't want to mention it was going to be on sale for $14.99 since knowing my luck, they would then refuse to sell it to me and say they are to be saved for Black Friday

When was the last drop? I don't think there's been anything since late last year...

I've been to my TRU a few times in the past few months but it's so... empty. Ever since Xmas shoppers cleared out their shelves, it seems like they're now only carrying the most popular new releases and a lot of really old games from popular series (Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, Halo, CoD, etc.) are back on the shelf for MSRP.

It seems like they're back away from carrying all new releases and only carrying casual titles and popular games.:whistle2:k

yeah, i think last drop was late last year :(

i went over to TRU earlier this week and all I saw were the same shitty shovelware wii titles on clearance. My TRU has some good stuff clearanced but nothing I want honestly even though I keep eyeing henry hatsworth for $10

The TRU I went to last weekend had a sign posted that it's good, I'm thinking until 4/2, I'm 99% positive I saw April in the date.

whats the deal with princess peach? Its 35 bucks at Toys R us, and like 45 used at gamestop o_O i checked ebay and it usually sells for around 40 bucks and up new, and ive never seen it on Amazon direct new. Was this game a toys r us exclusive or something? Is it worth waiting for the price to drop or is it gonna stay at 35 bucks forever?

It was out of print but TRU got an exclusive reprint.

... why would Super Princess Peach not sell well at TRU? Given who it's aimed at, I'd make the argument that it'd sell better there than someplace like GameStop.

Plus, I believe it was part of an agreement where they also got reprints of M&L: Partners in Time and Mario Hoops: 3-on-3.

I dont know how the TRU stores are in your area but in mine the only time they are busy is Xmas time or some huge sale.. and the games section is a ghost town with prices not updated and things mixed all over... So in my locations I dont think it will sell compared to stores with higher traffic...

I wish my TRU was still like that. But mine was remodeled and now they mark every price drop and move the games to a bin.
 
Just got back from TRU. DJ Hero II (360/PS3/Wii) with turntable is clearanced for 24.99. The DJ Hero 1 bundle and 2 turntable/microphone bundle are not on sale or clearance (DJ Hero 1 was still 49.99.

Also for today and Sat. all games were buy one get 40% off. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything else I really wanted.
 
No go at TRU in Independence, MO 64055. All the clearance games is GONE or Go Up Price still have few junk titles on clearance $9.98 & UP which is not worth $5 or less.
 
Picked up a PS3 Tony Hawk Shred bundle for $19.99 clearance price tonight. Was able to combine it with Rock Band 3 on the B1G1 40% off sale. So, ended up with PS3 Rock Band 3 for $11.99.

I went to get RB3 and pair it with ODST since I got Reach in the beta and haven't played ODST yet, but apparently TRU no longer carries ODST. Oh well.

Yeah I know. My son wanted Shred...and I had TRU credit to burn, so I let him get it.

The main reason I went to TRU tonight was to pick up Incredibles & Cars on Blu-ray for a total of $14.98 for the pair. That was my best TRU deal of the night, especially considering that each Blu-ray includes a movie voucher for Cars 2.

Some people like Shred and Ride so to each their own.

Wish I got that deal on cars/incedibles. I was afraid that one or the other would disappear early like has happened in the past if I waited for the weekend and I'd miss out, so I got mine day one. Couldn't reprint the coupons to rebuy at TRU.
 
I think we missed a drop, I saw a ton of new clearance games but nothing that great. I think it was all Wii and DS stuff that dropped. I didn't notice any new PS3 or 360 games unless I somehow missed them.

There were no new $5 games that I saw
 
PC Star Wars titles clearanced at $2.98. JEWEL CASES ONLY, these are not in the DVD-sized boxes. Titles are all Star Wars:

Jedi Outcast
Jedi Academy
BattleFront
BattleFront 2
Republic Commando

With the 30% off all clearance games (which ends on 4/30), they come out to $2.09 + tax. Picked up Outcast, Academy, and Republic Commando myself.
 
someone in the MK thread said that they were told that tomorrow LP2 and Nier are going to be $9.99 and other titles will also drop? Kaydigi or anyone else that works in TRU can you confirm this rumor?

I can check tomorrow. I was so busy last week, I completely forgot to check on any changes.

I was in TRU this morning and they had some new price tags and some new price lists for today out in the open for the electronics that were abandoned with no workers around so I helped myself to looking at it all and noticed some clearance stuff at 9.98 and I ended up picking up.....

GOD OF WAR: GHOST OF SPARTA (9.98)

I don't have a cell phone so I couldn't copy or take any pictures etc but off the top of my head I do remember most if not all of the other decent 9.98 games, Street Fighter IV (360), Crackdown 2 (360), Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands (360), Nier (360 IIRC), Phantasy Star 0 (NDS, I think this may be old). Green Day Rock Band (can't remember which system) Some other Rock Band game I can't remember and I'm guessing the Rock Band games were just the games only since the original price for them were 49.99 & 59.99.

IIRC they only get price updates for games that are actually in stock at said store so could be some other stuff that wasen't in stock at my store (I'd guess not much else), I didn't notice Lost Planet 2 on the list which I recall reading on CAG was also dropping today to $10 for one of the systems (360 I'm guessing)

edit - Crazy Taxi Fare Wars for the PSP was also 9.98
 
Thanks for the info, sounds like some good drops.

Crazy Taxi Fare Wars only dropped a penny, it was $9.99 before. Strange they would bother to mark it down like that.
