Trade in value at Gamestop for a 360?

MetalGearDizzle

CAGiversary!
Well my 3rd 360 is now doing the E74 error, so I'm done with Microsoft. I can't handle 3 systems in 3 years, when I have a NES from 1985 that still runs good as new. ANYWAYS, with the towel trick I get the 360 to play for a few days, and since all Gamestop does is boot up the system to make sure there's no red lights, I'm confident I can trade it in without a hitch. I'm just wondering how much they offer for a 360? Also, do they take the hard drive? Is that seperate? How much for that?!

Thanks in advance.

I bought a 360 off of eBay a few months ago but didn't work. I called MS and asked to get it fixed. I received the white box and in two weeks I received a seemingly new one. The one I bought had a serial # from '06 and the one I received is from July '07. Anyways, in the CAGwiki thing it says you get $130 when you trade in a used 360. I think it's less without the hard drive.

So..you want to know how much you can fuck GS over for? I got my E74 error fixed for free...if you don't want it anymore at least get it fixed and THEN trade it in (you will get more if you sell it privately) so that some poor kid doesn't get screwed with YOUR problem...

There is nothing wrong with trading in your system. There IS something wrong with trading in a knowingly broken system. That shit's not cool.

You DID know there's a 3 year warranty for all systems, right? If you can handle not playing the 360 for a little over a week you'll have a new system.
And don't trade in a broken 360. That's f***ing weak.

Wah wah. Microsoft doesn't deserve my loyalty with their faulty ass products, and so I'm getting rid of it. And Gamestop has a policy where if it doesn't work, they return in. Big deal. I was Assistant Manager at a Gamestop so I know how things worked. Plus I bought a "factory refurb" 360 from Gamestop and the disc tray didn't even open up. So yeah, great refurb job there. Anyways, thanks for the info maurinho.

If you really want to stick it to MS and not Gamestop/ little billy, then you would force them to use their resources to swap/fix it, first...

Darn logic is always getting in the way of Vengence!

I'm not gonna jump on the moral bandwagon this thread is going on, I'd just say that you'd get mroe money for your system if you sold it on craigslist or eBay than you'd EVER get trading it into gamestop, that being said you can't really sell a broken system on ebay or craigslist (well you can, but they'd probably consequences)

I'd get it fixed by M$, and then sell the system on eBay or craigslist, and if you want to buy an original NES, or one of those new fangled SUPER NES's then have at it. by going this route, you get more money for your system, M$ has to use their resources (thus cost them money) to fix your system, and no one ends up with a broken console, everyone wins
