Trading 'Asian' games...

tanis

CAGiversary!
Got a few great deals from Play-Asia on some region free asian XBOX 360 games a ways back and want to trade 'em in. Some boxes are obviously not matching the US release versions (have PAL or foreign text on them).

So, any places or tactics you can use to trade 'em in?

So let me get this straight, you CAG'ers hate when people trade in disc only game's yet when you try to trade in region free disc only game's it's ok?

Yeah that pretty much sums it up.

ah yes...the paradox that is to be a Cheap Ass Gamer.

Anytime Ive ever traded in games to EB/GS I agonize over wether or not to include the boxes & manuals. Last time I did this I did trade in my games complete, but I dont think I'd do it again.

If I still have the manuals & boxes, it will be easier to buy back disc only games later and re-complete them if I want.

Good news on the disc-only trade. The hardest I think will be Crackdown... as the whole thing looks different... even the disc, I believe. But I couldn't pass up the cheap-ass $40 price on it.

Of course, by the time the beta is over... Crackdown will probably be worth $1 anyways. Speaking of which, I sure hope the beta invite is valid 'region-free'.

Gamestop typically doesn't care if you trade games disc only, though the one store manager tried telling me that they have to charge X amount for trading in with no case or manual or anything.

I just took my games and left his store, since all my local stores took the games in with no griping. Hell, they even took in my disc only Shadow Hearts Covenant that I got from Kmart on clearance and gave me $17 and change in credit.

My local GS's had an overabundance of the Tom Clancy Trilogy for Xbox for a LONG time after their last trade 3/get $10 extra deal thanks to them taking disc only games. LOL

Gamestop needs to start operating like estoreland.com, by taking a percentage off the total trade-in value based on if you have the case/manual to go along with it. The used section would look a whole lot better.
One of the Gamecrazys down here has an import DS game, its definitely one that we dont have over here. I have no idea how it was traded in.
they must have marked it as it's US counterpart or in the case of import only games they are selling something that rings up for around the same price as that game would sell for. What game is it? GameCrazy has no way of adding items to the inventory at the store only through corp.
