Supposedly the DisneyFormers will be revealed in the November 2008 issue of 'Figure Ou' in Japan. So it won't be too much longer (and that's if test shots / protos aren't leaked ahead of time...)
Sweet...hopefully they're a lot better than the Marvel/Transformers...those things are pretty bad.

You think? IDK about that. I buy em all regardles, but I'd say the Marvel ones are much much MUCH better than the Star Wars ones. I have em all so far, and Spiderman's the only one I don't care for much, though Iron Man isn't all that great either. Human Torch, Wolverine, Venom, and Hulk are all really good, solid figures that given a repaint and a new head could easily fit in with a main TF line imho.

I never realized how crappy the SWTFs were until I picked up the new General Grevious and Tie Bomber, around the same time as Wolverine and Human Torch. Clearly two different teams working on the crossovers (and as far as I know neither team works on a TF mainline). To each his own though.

Plus, w/out Marvel TF's, how are you supposed to have a figure with a giant fire wang (note, intentionally misstransfomred):

You have to qualify on this one. The original Marvel Transformers from several years back were all garbage. This new wave is much better.

I think some of the SWTFs are quite nice. Others fail at being Transformers. It's pretty clear that they emphasize the vehicle modes, which I think you have to do with Star Wars. They have much more freedom for design with the Marvel toys.

Remember G1 Snapdragon? He put the head in Headmaster.

WOW! For those worried about HBTS's usually slow ass shipping, I ordered a ton of stuff last Friday and it all came today! HBTS usually takes a good 1.5 to 2 weeks MINIMUM to get me my stuff. Nice. If I can find my camera, I'll take pics later. It's like Christmas, lol.

BTW: Universe Sideswipe has Sunstreakers instructions (ie, they didn't bother to reverse the front and back, as they are recolors of the same mold, but sunstreakers roof is his chest, where sideswipe's hood is his), but it says Sideswipe now. Also, mine had 2 copies in it...

To blandstalker: I'd forgotten Snapdragon! Always wanted one to go with my Apeface :( Also, I definitely give mad props to the SWTF's for great vehicle modes. They're just craptastic 'formers for the most part (although I have all non-repaint figs...).

Lastly, there WERE transforming Marvel figures a couple of times, but this is the first Transformers Marvel line. Somewhere I have a poor Jugernaut that becomes a "tank"... and my cousin had a Punsher that became a facsimile of a gun if you squinted just right...

wow, if I didn't already have em all, those are actually pretty good deals. Skorponok is a shit figure, but the other two in that 3 for 15 are two of my faves from the deluxes.

Ah...I finally managed to find myself an Ironhide from the Universe 2.0 line. While I was at it I also managed to grab an animated Swoop as well. I'm glad the wal-marts near me have them priced at $7.77 still. Good savings.
One of the G1 Constructicons has a wang, too (it's one of the arms, can't remember the name).
Heh, really? I'mma have to dig mine out, as I don't remember that. the arms were Bonecrusher and ... Scavenger? Oh, I see, u must mean Scavenger then... hehe, never thought of that:
946490860_72efb29ed7.jpg

Fold down the metal part in the middle (used to attach to devestator) and WANG. nice.

Also, next Masterpiece is Grimlock and is up for preorder at BBTS:
http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=TAK10885&mode=retail&picture=out

at $150, it's assumed to be bigger than the others (Prime, Megs, Starscream), but no pics or confirmation as of yet.

Rumor has it Devestator may be next, with 2-packs coming out every 2-3 months until all 6 are released. That would be TIGHT. Just heard about that tonight though, am waiting on where the info came from.

Aaaand, PICS:
MP Grimlock:
attachment.php

"Ultimate Valour" To be true to his character setting, "a Transformer created by a Transformer", rivets are applied all over his body. He has "Waiter Mode" included and he comes with "brainwave transport" device. He can strike dinosaur-like poses as desired. His right fist contains LED light to light up his gun and sword. Both Dino and robot mode can change eye colours. Diecast is partly used.
And just for you Linkin, MICKEY MOUSE:
attachment.php

Transform from a trailer truck to a robot. "Costume change" gimmick (Mickey Mouse in the driver's seat puts on a battlesuit when transforming to robot mode, and he appears on top of the robot head) is included. "Exciting gimmick" (Robot arms flap up and down when upper body is pushed down) included.
Honestly, the pics aren't that great, so I can't make a call about either, but Grim looks all sorts of awesome, and Mickey, well, I'll wait for bigger, colored pics before I pass judgment. Looks interesting at least.

Edit: And one more. First time I've seen pics of Classics 2.0/Universe Dinobot and Hot Shot (from Armada, didn't even know they were planning that one. Very odd, as I hate the original toy and character, but this doesn't look too bad)

About time for the Masterpiece Grimlock. Glad they didn't run through the rest of the Seekers first. Constructicons would be awesome, or the other 4 Dinobots.
Is that a new mold for Dinobot?!
The Classics / Universe line is branching out from G1. They're also doing Cheetor.

new-releases-001.jpg

Yeah...I already knew about Cheetor. Just didn't know that there was a Dinobot mold for this line as well. Guess I'll have to pick it up. As for MP Grimlock...looks very cool and all. I've read up what I could find thus far. Only thing is the price tag on that figure is up there for me right now. I'll have to hold off for a while.

Oh man...MP Grimlock, Mickey Mouse, Nissan GT-R...who is the car with the mini helicopter below Mickey...Jazz? Is Mickey Mouse a Japan exclusive?

Thanks Zmonkay!

I think Mickey will probably end up being a Japanese release only. Then again you can always buy it online like I'm doing with the Alternity GT-R.
who is the car with the mini helicopter below Mickey...Jazz?
Armada Hot Shot with Mini-Con Jolt.

True...there's always Big Bad Toystore :D

Armada...dang...that looks like a pretty sweet mold.

Yup, that's him.

Need to see the price on that Mickey before even considering to buy it. I mean the estimated price of MP Grimlock already kills me to try to find a better deal.

Wow, that coupon code ended quick. FALL20 is NO LONGER VALID (Linkin, think you could take it down from the front page I guess?) I'll post again when I find another though, no worries :)

Sucks too, cuz the new Animated Legends (Prime, Prowl, BB) figs are up on HBTS. Guess I'll have to wait for the next promo.

EDIT: K, found another, but it sucks. tf2009 for 10% off. You still pay tax and exorbitant shipping though, so fuck that. IIRC, they usually have a 25% off in fall, so hopefully that's coming up.

ALSO: According to the BBTS preorder page, Mickey is coming in two variations: Colored, and monochrome, which is probably Steam Boat Willy style.

My son really wants the big blackout and the big Ironhide. I can't find them any ideas of stores that I could find it. I found them at one store for 29.99 each and they should be 20.00. Should I go back to get them or do you guys think I will find them for the right price elsewhere? Thanks

If he's not big on the characters, and just wants the toys, here's two repaints:

These guys should still be floating around stores too. I really like that Blackout recolor too, but it doesn't come with a mini Skorponok anymore, instead it's a raft that turns into a gun.

The original colors are gonna be much harder to get though, especially at decent prices.

When did they come out, maybe I should get them? Are they good fun figures, do they transform well. I think he wants them to look the way they did in the movie. Maybe $10 more a figure is not bad considering I dont have to pay shipping.

There's a new code for 20% and this is thanks to TFW2005

"MDCREW is the code and it is good till11/17/08 until 11:59 pm ET"

No free shipping this time though.

I tip my hat to you sir. I really wish the "sales, deals, and coupons" thread over there was actually up to date, lol

Now to decide if I want to order the new Animated Legends, as well as the new preorders for Shockwave, Swindle, and Beachcomber. Even 20% off, after shipping they are a couple bucks more than retail, but I won't waste gas. On the other hand, there's still the $5 coupon for $20 or more good at retail, so that makes retail cheaper. Decisions decisions.

Is this ironhide a red one?

Well I finally found them at a Walmart for 19.99 each so I and my son are happy.

Is big daddy from Walmart anything special? My son also wanted galvatron and the red ironhide he said these were from a movie he saw?

Congrats on finding em. I assume Ironhide (red) and Galvatron are these, from Universe:

http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/ProductsByBrand.htm?BR=496&SBR=97&ID=21938

The movie was the original animated movie, simply Transformers: The Movie (one of my all time faves, but I'm a little biased...) The new Universe line is HEAVILY influenced/homage heavy from the G1 cartoon from the 80's (which that movie is from), so these would be great for him. Ironhide is still a red van, but Galvatron is now a tank. Bot mode looks pretty similar to G1 though. Also, though I assume your son is skilled with TF's if he's playing with the movie figures, be warned that Galvatron is fairly complicated and fragile. He really should have been a 20.00 toy, but they squeezed him down because "there were too many large scale tanks already". I personally love him, but a lot of fans were disappointed, mainly by failed potential.

Big Daddy is a Walmart exclusive repaint of Downshift from TF: Cybertron. One of my favorite molds from that line, and the colors on the repaint look sweet (it's an homage to a micromachine sized transformer, called Micromasters, named Big Daddy)

Random fact: I got most of my Micromasters, including this set, at Eagle grocery store back in the day.

Can you guys believe 25th Anniversary Prime has been released?! The price kind of kills it for me though. It's about $70 so yeah....I doubt I'll pick it up any time soon. Well that is till I actually have it in my hands and have to contemplate it. I don't have a G1 Prime so this will probably end up being a hard decision for sure.

heh, yeah. I already have like 6 G1 Primes, in varying states of completeness, so easy pass for me, but it is definitely nice. IDK why it's so damned expensive though, when the G1 TRU exclusive re-release from years back was cheaper (still pissed I passed on Ultra Magnus then though)

You guys think Galvatron and Acid Storm are worth picking up? They've been tantalizing me for weeks and now that they're 7.77, I'm very tempted to pull the trigger.
You guys think Galvatron and Acid Storm are worth picking up? They've been tantalizing me for weeks and now that they're 7.77, I'm very tempted to pull the trigger.
Acid Storm? I dunno. I didn't. I have enough of that mold.

I was wary of Galvatron since Dave's review was so negative. But I kind of like him. The idea of a pint size Galvatron was appealing, and the robot mode is really nice looking. I think it evokes Galvatron's character better than the G1 figure does.

I think it is true that the scale of the figure causes a lot of problems. Good luck trying to transform it without one or both arms falling off, and unlike most Transformers, I can see this one breaking.

That said, both modes are good and the transformation is both involved and clever. I'm glad I got it.

I would say that if you liked Tankor, then you'll llike Galvatron. Both are pretty amazing in what they accomplish in a small figure. And both have some limitations because of the scale of the design.

^ yup. Acid Storm is imho crap colors on a great mold. If you don't have the mold yet, I'd hold off until G1 colored Starscream comes out to get it. Galvatron, as I've said before, is love for me. The more complex the transformation, the better I view the figure. For a deluxe, Galvatron is great, but it would have been epic with a larger size. sigh. It is VERY fragile in parts, though I've yet to have anything fall off (unlike the doors of Silverstreak/prowl, which I've given up on trying to TF them w/out popping off the wings. friggin impossible if you ask me).

Well, the only reason I wanted Acid Storm was because he's the same mold as Starscream. So I guess I'll just hold off until Starscream actually comes out. And I think I'm sold on Galvatron then. He was badass in the movie, and he will be bad ass on my desk.

How do you guys feel about the deluxe version of Animated Optimus? He's another one that's teasing me with his pricetag.

I gave my son blackout today , at first he thought it was hard but then he got it. He broke the tail of the little scorponox, I am so upset. He is not rough it just broke. We also opened universe Ironhide he is cool in my opinion my son did not play with it too much yet. He keeps bugging me to open the galvatron but we already opened the 2 toys today.
How do you guys feel about the deluxe version of Animated Optimus? He's another one that's teasing me with his pricetag.
LOVE it. Both versions, actually. The 2-pack is worth it for the Prime alone (Megs... not so much). Both share vary similar transformations, but are unique enough to be worth having both, along with the fact that the solo release is Prime's Cybertronian mode, while the 2-pack is the earth mode. Plus, the 2-pack Prime's axe lookes GREAT with the Voyager version. Sorry, a little OT, but had to be said :) Honestly, the only Animated figs I'm disappointed in are 2-pack Megs and Black Arachnia. Both are kind of boring, but the rest... win.
He broke the tail of the little scorponox, I am so upset.
That sucks. But honestly, the mini-skorponok isn't all that great anyway. In case you didn't know, you can attach Deluxe Skorp to Blackout, and when you spin the rotors, Skorps claws spin (idk if it's in the instructions for either fig. or not)

Do you ever see that scorponox in stores anymore? They sell a 2 pack at TRU on the website.

Universe Dinobot and Smokescreen (Really, do we need another Prowl/Silverstreak mold reuse already?) Ooo, and from the looks of it, Dinobot's faction symbol rotates for Maximal or Predicon. Neato.

Anyone know what was the MSRP for the 20th anniversary Optimus Prime with the dvd? Also, where can I get this the cheapest? Looking at ebay now, looks like I may get it for $75 shipped if I'm lucky... Is this s good price for it?
