The TRU ad on Transformers for Black Friday (not sure if this is the same... looks like it thought) corresponds almost entirely to old merchandise they have been trying to clear for months.

I got those same TFA figures for $4 or so the last time they did an online clearance... surprised they still have those left.

So after many years of having exclusive Transformers at Walmart on BF...this year there are none listed in the BF circular...if anyone else has info let us know.....
A little off topic, I saw the SDCC Galactus at TRU for $55 and it came with a Silver Surfer. It didn't come in a blister pack, instead it came in a box which opens with a flap. I'm going to assume you might be able to pick this up at hts too and might be able to get it for a better deal.
It's not the SDCC one.. it's a mass release Marvel Universe Galactus. SDCC one is on the cardback. The boxed one is everywhere now. It's a wonderful figure but I'm waiting on the variant.

Actually they are getting the Cybertron scouts (yes, the same ones repackaged in the Universe packaging) repackaged (yet again) in Generations packaging...

Yay for crap exclusives!!!

Exactly I'm waiting on the dark variant too. Translucent Silver Surfer...yes please.

Really? Same crappy 2 packs as they always have? I was hoping for something better. Do you have pics or more info?

Not the 2-packs... those were Target Exclusives repackaged for Wal-Mart. I'm talking about the general release Cybertron scouts that were released in the mainline that got repackaged in Universe packaging for Family/General Dollar stores: Brushguard, Hightail, Scattershot, Backstop, Undermine, etc..

oooo yea I got those last year too. From a drug store..lol. Well at least $10 PCC at Target might be good...if they have the later releases that is. You don't know how tired I am of seeing Bombshock and Skyburst.

So Masterpiece Megatron is getting another release. I don't have one, and now that I live in Canada, I can get one without one of the stupid orange plugs.

Yet, I've heard that it's somewhat...fragile? I've read accounts of people who are afraid to transform it.

Any thoughts here? Is it a good figure and (more or less) worth the sticker shock?
$6.50 for the animated TFs? Sold. Can't beat less than $30 for 4 Christmas gifts.
I was in TRU today...it's only for older animated deluxes. Doesn't work for Ironhide and Rodimus.

I feel it is worth it. And yes,it is fragile. You will need to be careful transforming it. But as long as you dont have Andre the Giant hands, you should be fine. It's a beautiful piece.

I think Masterpiece Megatron was such a massive disappointment because he's obviously meant to match up with Masterpiece Prime, and when you put them side by side there's no comparison. Prime benefits from having a much simpler transformation and a lot of bulk in transformed mode... One of Megatron's biggest problems is the lack of substance in his legs, which are made up only of the handle of the gun mode. That said, it is an impressive piece of origami.

Also, unless you pick up the unlicensed accessory set, the gun mode is incomplete... it only includes the walther p-31 (which is a bit oversized to make his robot mode equal to prime) and the scope, but not the silencer, etc.

The exchange rate is horrendous right now, so even the reissue has to be really expensive...

Masterpiece Megatron is a fave of mine, but only because it's such an awesome piece of plastic folding engineering. It is fragile as hell (I have at least one, maybe two small tabs in a ziplock I keep meening to try and glue back on...), and the gun mode looks oversized and goofy, but I'll be damned if I don't love complex TF's, and this one takes the cake.

*looks at hands... :(
I wish they'd re release Shockwave... I used to have one when I was a kid.. I'd love to have one now.
Hasbro / Takara don't own the mold, so no dice. It belongs to another company altogether.

The movie version is as close as we're gonna get right now.

dont think Masterpiece Megatron is that fragile. well mine isnt at least. Yes it can be a pain to TF but if you are careful with it there should be a problem.

VGM out...

All Deluxe figures are Buy 2 for $14.99
Is this true? Didn't see it posted anywhere else. Are the Generations WFC figures Deluxe class? I would love to get Soundwave and Megatron

Yes, good luck finding a TRU that isn't full of peg warmers like Tuner Skids.

This.

My TRU hasn't gotten anything in past wave 1 on everything. All my purchases lately have been at Target/Walmart.
As in I can go to TRU or Target right now and get Jazz???
Depends on store stock, as always.

But yea, I've seen quite a few people picking them up on TFW2005.

If anyone wants to be a pal and pick me up an extra Jazz and Tracks, I'd repay you instantly (via Paypal.) Without a car at the moment so that limits what I can do for TF hunting, and HTS is taking forever in stocking these two.

Surprisingly mine created an aisle display that actually contained quite a few surprises--Generations Blurr, WFC Soundwave, Generations Red Alert. I picked up the first two for the 2/$14.99 sale which is most definitely real--at least hopefully through today. I can't see it being retained after tonight. The thing I was most surprised by is that TRU had a Friday/Saturday sale of the same figures for $16.99 for two--then dropped it two bucks more Sunday when I went in. I felt bad for anyone who bought in to that "deal".

Of course, I must have just gotten there when the stuff was up--an employee showed me the display and started picking out copies of his own. No wonder I can't find crap at mine. (Shockingly there was an Animated Rodimus on the regular shelf.)

Use coupon code THANKS10 to save an additional 10% on everything, INCLUDING sale items!!

Man, I'm loading my cart up... time to fill a bunch of holes in my collection.

TF Source is having a BF sale... the only thing of interest imo was Alternity Convoy for $38. BBTS wants $60 for this bad boy so I decided to scoop it up.

TRU also has ROTF Voyagers for $9.99 online - Mindwipe, Recon Ironhide, and Bludgeon.

Also, Predaking preorders are shipping *today* at BBTS, but you still have time to cancel if BF has taken its toll.

It did for me and luckily I wasn't yet charged... I'll pick up Predaking in a few weeks, I doubt he's going to sell out.

A bunch of older Universe Ultra's are showing up at Ross and Marshall's stores for $14.99 a piece, along with some ROTF figures (not sure on the price of those.)

I know they have -

ROTF Red Rampage
ROTF Evac

for the deluxes.

And:

Universe Ultra Powerglide
Universe Ultra Hardhead
Universe Ultra Skyfall

And I think one other for the Ultras. Hardhead regularly sells on Ebay for $60 - $80 so getting one for $15 is a steal in addition to being a FANTASTIC figure. Someone on TFW was nice enough to snag me a Hardhead at cost.

My son opened his presents tonight. I wrapped his presents in a sneaker box, so he unwrapped it and said sneakers? ... then he opened the box and saw Generations Megatron, soundwave, and Darkmount, I also had animated Rodimus in there. He was very happy.

Hi guys, haven't posted in here in a long long time. So I was at TRU today and found a couple Masterpiece Grimlocks, are these really common now or are they somewhat rare?

I know they used to be $50 but I paid $69.99 which is the standard MSRP. Should I keep it and does anyone know, if they aren't rare, if there's a way to bring the price down on these (does TRU ever include the Masterpiece Grimlock in Transformer sales)?

Appreciate any and all info, I'm not up to date on Transformers and I know you guys know your stuff. Thanks

etcrane: they're not rare near me at least, my TRU always seems to have a few on the shelf. As far as knocking down the price, unless there are any TRU coupons floating around I'm not aware of, no dice. I'm grateful I got in on the preorder at the original price. Even then I feel ripped off (just really really disappointed in the fig).

Jaheryh: It's a beautiful thing to get so many figs at once. I really want to take advantage of the 25% off coupon (Thanks E-Z-B!!!) but the newest figs (ie, the ones I want) are out of stock :(

Kmart has a sale going on for B2G1 on all TFs. I picked up 6 Jazz's and 6 Tracks for custom purposes last night for $6.50 each due to a pricing error that had each of them labled at 9.99 each.
Jazz and Tracks are in stock right now at HTS... if the coupons are still active that'll be a nice deal for someone.
Thanks for the heads up animalspinners! Only thing I didn't get that I wanted was Thunderwing (OOS), but whatevs, I'll pick it up eventually. Even picked up a few PCC's (2 normal, 2 5-pack). I still say they're crap, but at least for 25% off I can say I have some in my collection.

Too bad I can't play with them until my son opens his Christmas presents!

Did any of you catch the Transformers Prime miniseries on The Hub? I thought it was a pretty solid 5 episodes, really remind me a lot of Best Wars which is my all time favorite Transformers series. Can't wait for the series to officially start in Feb 2011.
