I saw a Large Optimus Prime and a large Starscream at my TJMAXX for 29.99 each. I also saw a lot of the little ones on cards and "strafe in similar packaging to the optimus, but a smaller scale.

I ordered mine this past Sunday and they finally shipped it today and should have it tomorrow, I have Prime if that matters to you.

According to Amazon tracking, mine is delivered. Woot. Should be waiting for me at home. Hope it's not damaged...

[quote name='howlinmad']Anyone gotten their Unicron from Amazon? Mine still hasn't shipped from the 1st.[/QUOTE]

I got mine!

Yep, mine was sitting there outside my front door for anyone to steal....But it was in perfect condition. Man, it's huge! Bigger than what I was expecting. I should have ordered two, I want to open one and store one.

Pardon my ignorance, but is that it for the entire stock, as far as we know? Any rumors of more stock coming?
I was broke when they were in stock, and I'm thinking I'm probably out of luck.

To check the stock on Amazon you type 999 (maximum) in your cart and if it is less than that it will let you know how many. I don't know how many units they received but as of that posting at that time were the total amount left.

I received mine today but the bottom got crushed in a little bit and tore the cardboard. I popped it back out but the tears are still there, I hope they do get more so I can get a replacement. Bastards stuffed it in a box that barely fits with no packaging.

I hate it when that happens. Mine was put in a box that just fit too with none of the normal packing. Luckily it came out ok. Sorry to hear about yours.

Another NYCC exclusive:

BTW Anyone know when the official Transformers Prime line is due to come out?

I think I read somewhere Prime figs are coming November, so hopefully soon! Tired of the constant stream of repaints/crap figures in DotM

So for those of you whose TRU never got the Masterpiece Rodimus (like mine), he's available on the TRU website right now for $70. Easy to get free shipping right now too (over $75 purchase)

[quote name='Ultimate Matt X']Did any of you guys get the NYCC exclusives? I got the Prime set and the Cuponk. Shipped out already so hopefully they'll be here early next week.[/QUOTE]
I find the Cuponk concept stupid, but I bought the set anyway thanks to the ridiculous artwork on the cups.

Can't believe the NYCC exclusives are still up, except for Compound Hulk. Well, the Prime exclusive anyways, Muggs never seem to sell.

I hope its just people not caring about Transformers: Prime repaints and not apathy for the series and figures in general. The SDCC Prime is still up too.

From what I remember, Animated didn't sell well either so I hope we're not going back to a time when we get great figures but nobody is buying. Being on a show most kids probably don't even get or know about probably doesn't help.

If you guys are looking for Japanese stuff, this site lists a lot of Transformers among other Japanese toys (might not be work safe as they also carry adult Japanese Doujinshi)

http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/search.do?action=whatsNew&doujin=all&displayDate=0

They get new items throughout the day so you have to check back often and for what I have been collecting their prices are pretty decent. I pick the New Arrival, Descending Order, Thumbnail View, 50 items and Show Only Available Items for easy viewing of instock items. If you choose to show sold out items, you can get an idea of what some of their figures sell for. You can type Transformers or whatever item you are looking for in the search box at the top left but it may not list the non-translated item listings. Just remember everything is in Yen and if you spend under 5000 yen on an order (not including shipping) they add a 500 yen service charge to the order plus they have a number of different locations so if you pick items from different ones, you will get charged shipping for each package from each location as they do not bundle the items up from multiple stores and ship it out as one package. Also some of their items may be opened so make sure to read the listing carefully as sometimes the website translators can screw up on some of the translations.

First, let me say I loved Animated. Both the toys and the show were fantastic.

Prime, well, I really don't care for the show. The story is alright I guess, but the animation/direction is seriously lacking. Every shot is way too close, with poor framing, and generally too dark.

That said, the toys look great! Like a cross between Animated and movie-verse. I'm assuming people are waiting to get the actual Prime figs, and not overpriced repaints.

There are two things that I think limit the appeal of the NYCC set.

1) Yet Another Bumblebee. I am getting sick to death of frickin' Bumblebee. What a stupid choice for an exclusive. Yeah, it makes a taxi which actually makes sense for NYC. Big whoop. A black and white taxi (or police car) would have been much more distinctive.

Bumblebee sells, but that's to the general market. This is an exclusive, which is a different market. What would be a better choice for this market? Almost anything. Starscream is a duh-obvious choice. Paint Starscream like a taxi or like Bumblebee. Or in G1 colors. Or Ghost Starscream in clear plastic.

2) Arcee in pink. Normally, that would be a given. But I don't think this Arcee looks all that good in pink. It looks washed out, too. Arcee in black would have been awesome. Or metallic blue.

Also, speaking just for me (or anyone else outside the US) Hasbro's shipping is so insane that the set would have to be gold plated to be worth it. Shipping is $35, making the cost of ordering this set $70.

I can't justify that for frickin' Bumblebee, foofy Arcee, and two statues. Had it been Ghost Starscream and Metallic Blue Arcee, I would have probably ponied up. But not for what they're selling.

I was hoping Mp11 (Starscream) would be something new before the inevitable redo of the previous figures. Think it is about time I got rid of my MP Megatron it is only a matter of time on that one.

HI, I was wondering if you guys can give me an opinion on which Sentinel Prime DOTM toy to get me son. They have the small one, voyager size and leader size. I am leaning towards the voyager is that a good one? Thanks

How old is he again? The Leader SP is one of my faves of this line, but that's because it's complicated as all heck. Might frustrate him. Voyager is decent, but I found it too simple (again, for me the more complex, the more I like it :D ). Still, I think you're probably leaning in the right direction. Cyberverse SP is pretty good for what it is. Really depends on how many other Cyberverse figs he has.

He is 10, he has many leaders already so he can do them. He likes the challenge as well. We looked at videos on youtube and decided I think on the leader. We have to see how much it is though but I will get it for him for the holidays. Hopefully I find it and maybe even on sale would be nice. Hopefully it will go nice with the leader Optimus and Megatron that we have from the last movie.

oh, for some reason I thought he was younger (wasn't someone on here getting Activators at one time?). In that case, yeah, for sure go with the leader. Fantastic figure all around. Not quite the challenge of RotF Leader Prime (fuck getting those arms aligned) but still very complex. 40.00 is the standard leader price, I never know if there are good sales on TF's other than the occasional % off from HasbroToyShop.

Speaking of leaders, I'm really really surprised there still hasn't been any anouncment of Decepticons at the leader class. Overall the line is kinda dwindling since Prime is coming I guess. I wonder if they'll do something similar to Hunt for the Decepticons or Generations alongside Prime, or if it's just going to be Prime.

I would have bought it for him already but we just saw the movie last week. We waited to see it on bluray. I did not realize that SP was such a main character. We already have voyager shockwave. Thanks for your help. We have Optimus, Megatron and Jetfire as leaders from the last movie. I would like to put up pics of our collection on here-do you guys know how to do that?

upload them to a free image hosting site. then that'll give you a link to share on message boards. post that link using the image tags (there's a small button for it above the Quick Reply box) and that should be it.

Just recently saw a toy r us exclusive repackage of the War for cybertron toys. It was a three pack that contained repaints of optimus, megatron, and bumblebee. Retailed $39.99

Where's those pics mickeyp?! :D

Be sure to let us know what you think about Sentinal once your son opens it. It's probably my fave. fig from this line.

I am working on uploading them. I hope others will share photos as well. I saw voyager sentinel prime in the store I bought it just in case I don't see it again, but not the leader I have to check another store.

I wish I still had the pics of my old collection. It was impressive stuff. Sold it for a ton of cash but regret it a bit now as I'm a bit older and have more money. Back then I thought I needed it!

Well I love to collect toys! I love "our" collection of transformers, lego, video games and board games. If I was not such a collector he would not have so much. I collect things that he will play with I guess. Before he was born I used to collect toys. Most adults I know don't get it! But they are his and he plays with all of them! He takes really good care of them and all these years he has lost only one piece of a transformer. I always taught him to be careful with his stuff. He watched the old movie many times, all the old cartoons. He watched animated and prime and all the new movies. He loves transformers! None of his friends seem to know about the toys though. They are missing out on a great toy! Thanks for looking at the pics!

Saw that last weekend. Looks like stores also restocked on Masterpiece Rodimus, saw them at 3 different TRUs this past week.

Got the Great Big TRU Book in the mail today. Sale prices from 10/30 - 11/23, that 3-pack will be $34.99. Ultimate Optimus Prime will be $69.99, DotM Autobots Ark Set $23.99, DotM Optimus Cyber Blaster or Helmet $24.99 each and get the G1 Bumblebee Kre-O set with a $40 purchase of TF Kre-O.

[quote name='mickeyp']http://www.mediafire.com/?5pdk6r228a2re these are my son's transformers -pictures taken in August 2009 and August 2010.[/QUOTE]

Nice collection. Is that the 25h Anniversary G1 Optimus or the earlier TRU commemorative reissue?

Great collection! Awesome dad is awesome! That's exactly what I plan on doing when I have kids (someday). "yeah honey, these are for the kid..." :D

Wish I had pics of my collection, but I don't have display shelves, they're just piled in storage bins. I did take pics in about 2002 or so. Maybe see if I can dig them out.

Who is awesome dad? Awesome mom here!

awesome mom! sweet. my wife rolls her eyes at me because she knows exactly who these Transformers are for. LOL.

Looking at Mickeyp's pictures, it makes me wish I never would have sold/gotten rid of any of my TF toys when I was younger. Although, that's the same reason I started collecting some of the newer toys too.

[quote name='dohdough']I know it was poorly reviewed, but TRU is selling MP Rodimus on ebay for $76+tax shipped.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Exclusive-T...&otn=3&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=3809742357600769670[/QUOTE]

Rodimus isn't a bad toy. It has a gorgeous robot mode, a somewhat frustrating transformation, and a better-than-good vehicle mode. The only thing I don't really like are the hands, which just don't want to settle into vehicle mode on mine.

That said, what it accomplishes is pretty astounding, and it does it at around half of the cheapest import version (which now runs from $135 for the rev 1 problematic one) to $200+ for the "fixed" version

Personally, I would buy it in a physical TRU. I've read too many reports of problems, so you want to be able to exchange it if you need to. Mine had a windshield crack that wasn't able to be seen until it was opened. I exchanged it, and everything's fine.

Thanks for the info. I actually held off buying the first run because of the reviews and I don't really follow TF toys like I used to.

I just figured I'd drop this bit of info in the thread because I thought they were sold out everywhere and this was a good deal for those that missed out the first time to get one now without needing to pay $100+ for what the other MP's go for.

I too really like Rodimus. Really good figure for what it is. The legs/arms are a complete bitch to line up in vehicle mode but once you figure out the trick it isn't all that bad. Really wish there was a cheap way to get the Winnabego part from the Japanese release, but otherwise I'm happy with it.

It's just a part of the Masterpiece line. More complex, large figures. A bit of diecast. Geared towards the collector market. All of these things make them more expensive. So far in the US we've gotten them all (save the most recent Convoy/Prime. Hopefully we'll get that sans trailer to keep costs down) except some repaints and Megatron. Can't sell realistic gun toys in the US. Which is a shame, cuz that's one of my favorite MP molds and really complex (though a bit fragile. I've broken off a couple small pegs :( )
