TRU - Buy 2 get third FREE (all platforms) 10/27

I might be wrong but I though I remember seeing this same kinda sale at TRU earlier this year or late last year & it was only for games 30$ & Over for the 2 games you buy

Nope not true at all. Every time TRU has had the official Buy 2 get 1 free it has been just that. I still remember the first time they did it. My friend who had just purchased a PS1 bought 9 greatest hits games to start his collection. If it is like every other year the brick and mortar stores will have any 3 games with the cheapest free for whatever systems are included
 
So this deal HAS been confirmed, right? And it takes place NEXT Sunday (the 17th) NOT today (10th)? Is that correct?

Um...no.

The problem now seems to be that we've got conflicting information, from TRU employees in both cases. This thread says that the deal will be for everything and starting on 10/27.

This thread says that the sale will be split into two parts, GC and GBA on the 17th, and PS2 and Xbox the week after.

I'm a bit more tempted to believe this thread, as Shin Akuma is new here and I can't quite be sure yet that he's telling the truth. BBB has been here for a while and I know that he's been correct about the TRU deals before, so I'm inclined to believe him over Shin Akuma because of the presence of proof.

For the time being, though, I have no idea which one is correct. I don't think anyone else here does either.

I give it the middle of the week before we know for certain. As soon as someone gets a copy of next week's TRU ad, we should know which one will actually be occurring.

Of course, there still is a possibility that they could BOTH happen... :wink:
 
We should really start a countdown for this. I can't wait for this deal to start. Last year, I got Disgaea, Madden 2004, and NBA JAM. Though I really regreted NBA JAM and should've gotten either Prince of Persia or Castlevania.
 
UGH! This sucks! If I can't combine GC games with my Xbox and PS2 purchases theres really no reason to be part of it at all! I know I'm whining, but that's really stupid.

No, I agree. If it is true that the weeks will be split, I'll be pissed. No reason at all for them to divide the two.
 
Called TRU today you can keep a sealed game but you cant exchange them for different systems. Meaning no Gamecube for PS2 games. What is sort of nice i just got a new Credit card in the mail (get 50 bucks credit when you spend your first 100). So i can get 3 50 buck games at the sale and they will only run me 50.... Then cut up the card
 
So this deal starts the 27th(sorry didn't bother to read all of the post's) my Bank better be ready for a withdraw.

Citi or something like that forget where i got it from. Calling them tomorrow to really see if i get 50 off 100. That is what the website said. Was 6 weeks ago so dont remember the site
 
If it is anything like they have done in previous years they will let you preorder games with the deal as well, online at least. A few years ago I got THPS3, GTA3, and Devil May Cry. That was an intense month for gaming...

I may have posted in the wrong thread, sorry. I know there was talk around here somewhere that the sale would be on the 10th, and then someone said "No, I'm sure it's on the 17th." I don't ever remember seeing this thread, or any thread, say 10/27. In fact, I was 100% sure this thread had said 10/17... Oh well, I made a mistake, sorry. :)
 
Well, the thread does say 10/27 - but there's another thread that says its 10/24.

10/24 make a lot more sense. It's a sunday instead of a wednesday, and sales (including last year's B2G1) typically start on sunday.

Not saying it's NOT 10/27, just that there are two dates being touted and the 10/24 date seems to make more sense. Guess we'll find out soon.
 
So I went into TRU to pick up a new PS2(small one, mine busted). Anyway I asked the guy who helped me if he knew of the B2G1 sale. He told me he didn't hear anything and that I should check CAG! HAHAHAHAHA! I thought it was pretty funny.

Edit: Here's the link for TRU B2G1F Sale thread.

B2G1 will take start Sunday, October 24th and will include GCN, PS2 and Xbox games.

There is no separate week for a GCN sale.

You will get the cheapest of the three games for free.

They may limit the number of same copies you get dependent on the manager.

They may also not allow exchanges for games that release after the sale's end (October 30th).
 
can i walk up to a register with 6 games and they will know too ring up 4 and mark 2 as free or am i going to have to get off the line, fuck im going to be there the minute they open next sunday

I have the same question... I was assuming I'd have to get three at a time or go to seperate TRU locations (I know of 3 within a half hour of me, plenty more if I decide to venture about an hour)
 
the free game gets taken off automatically at the register... the free game is always the cheapest of the 3. If they are all the same price it would be the 3rd game they ring up that will be free.

Typically, when we have BOGO or B2G1 sales at TRU, the computer's good about splitting it so that you save the most amount of money if you buy, say, 6 games in the B2G1 sale.

Of course, most cashiers won't be too upset if this doesn't work and you want to get them separate instead. Just be sure to tell them to check which games went free before you pay, otherwise it WILL be a pain, having to do returns and all.

who cares, dam you people care too much, im just messing with you guys, I would advise if you TRU doesnt have what you want go to another one, or do the whole deal online if you can, personally ill be checking out 2 TRUs if I need to
