I'm curious if anyone else has heard of this deal. The TRU in Salinas, CA has a deal going on now that all yellow stickers (not red or orange of course) are buy 2 for $20. They aren't the worse games, the only one I can remember is R Type Final, but I was wondering if this was nationwide.

Even though golf broes me to death, I love Toiger Woods 2005 and I've been waiting for it to drop to $30 or less.

Tiger on Live... I can't wait!

Yes, it's nationwide. R-Type Final is one of the few items in there worth a damn. If you like pinball the Hall of Fame package is the other one to get.

Sweet. Here's a nice tip, call and ask if they can set a game aside for you today so you'll be sure to get it tomorrow. I just did it with Shadow Hearts. w00t!

Sometimes quality is better than quantity!

Cool! SPY FICTION!

I just want it for its stealth....

and the fact the character designs were by Range Murata of Blue Sub 6 and Last Exile fame.

Hey if anyone goes to TRU today can you post to confirm that these price drops are Nationwide. I've notice that a lot of the TRU markdowns have been YMMV in the last couple of months.

Now that the day has finally arrived, I'm hoping to head out to my local store and pick up a few of those hint guides.

Hopefully this isn't a YMMV deal. Either way, I thank you guys for your efforts.

I went last night to my TRU, they had pulled all the guides scheduled for .01 I was soo bummed, because I had been there the day before to see what I might be able to get, and they had at least one of each of just about all the guides on the list. I am going in today anyways, hoping they missed one or two. Plus they were all out of drakes when I got there too.

Got a pretty good haul today. I wish I would have found SC:pT, Tak 2, and Sims: BO guides, but oh well. Here's what I got.

Games:
Shadow Hearts: Covenant $19.95
La Pucelle Tactics $14.98 (I'll have to get this price-matched to one I bought at another TRU for $11.98)

Guides:
3x Burnout 3 $0.01
2x Bond Everything Or Nothing $0.01
1x Mario Party 5 $0.01
3x Ninja Gaiden $0.01
1x Medal Of Honor: Rising Sun $0.00 (this is green tagged so you actually get it for free)
2x Transformers $0.01
2x Mario & Luigi $0.01
1x Yu-Gi-Oh: Sacred Cards $0.01
2x Star Wars: Jedi Academy $0.00 (green tagged)
1x Need For Speed Underground $0.00 (green tagged)
3x Mafia $0.01
1x WWE Day Of Reckoning $0.01
1x Yu-Gi-Oh: Worldwide $0.00 (green tagged)
1x Dragonball Z: Buu's Fury $0.01

There were multiple copies of all these guides left at the Kenwood location.

same here in fort wayne. I asked and they said they pulled and destoryed all the penny guides really sucks

At the Grand Rapids, Alpine Ave TRU I got Shadow Hearts: Covenant for $19.95 today. Thanks a million, OP! I was just about to spend $29.95 at EB for it.

I've never had a problem before, but they refused to sell me 2 (could have been 20) penny guides today because of "store policy". I wasn't being a dick about it, but not selling because they "have to deface them and throw them out". WTF.

Scored the last shadow hearts at the nanuet, ny TRU. Also scored a ninja gaiden guide and splinter cell guide. They had a lot of ninja gaiden guides left and a restock of metal gear solid substance for xbox.

Plenty of .01 guides available at W. 38th in Indy. A few I can remember:

Mario Party 5
Super Mario 4
Bond: EON
Yugioh Sacred Hearts
Ninja Gaiden (one left)
Mafia
Transformers

just got back from TRU today

picked up 7 guides:
ninja gaiden
bond:EON
mario party 5
nba live 2005
YGO:sacred cards
burnout 3
splinter cell: PT
Shadow Hearts is even better when I PM it at BB and use a GGC to get an extra $5 off to make it $14.99! :)
Your lucky, my BB doesn't PM and GGC. It's one or the other :(

sorry, i should be more specific, So Cal is pretty big

i went to the Mission Viejo TRU which is south orange county

they had none of the guides, and they said they never even carried Shadow Hearts: Covenant

I picked up the following

Tak 2
SMA 4
Mario Party 5
Medal of Honor: Rising Sun

The West Madison TRU had at least 5 more of Tak, SMA4, and Mario Party 5.

No copies of SH: Covenant at my TRU, but I did manage SC: Pandora Tomorrow & Bond: EoN guides for a penny each + a Viewtiful Joe guide for $1.49.

I scored big time on the guides tonight: 48 guides for $0.32, and not even very many duplicates! Turns out my TRU had some guides hiding in the back that were marked down.

Major props to the OP for this notification! :D Thanks man!

Thanks OP. Scored Shadow Hearts: Covenant. This was at the Route 17N Paramus, NJ TRU. They have around 5 copies left

The Route 4E Paramus, NJ TRU had no copies of Shadow Heart: Covenant. They did have around 4 copies of Spy Fiction though.

Just scored some guides and a green tagged Intec Xbox CyberPad 2 at my local TRU. I couldn't find the MoH guide I saw some days ago. Came back with:

Ninja Gaiden x1 (it was worn out though, but meh)
Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow x2
Transformers x1
Burnout 3 x1
NFSU Underground x1 (heh, rang up as $0.00 like some of you mentioned)
Mario Party 5 x1
Mario Kart Double Dash x1 (I know these were $0.01 for a while now, but just decided an extra one would look nice..)

Total - $2.80 for a 3rd Party Xbox Duke Controller, and 8 strategy guides. There were still about 2 PTs, 10+ Double Dashes, 5+ Transformers, 3 Burnout 3s, 10+ Mario Party 5s, and maybe some Yu-Gi-Oh guides that I didn't pick up. It was tempting to pick up an extra copy of Splinter Cell though because it would've looked nice. I hope no one hoards all those guides at my TRU, and some serious unsuspecting customers actually gets them for $0.01.

I grabbed a copy of SH: Covenant at the Union, NJ TRU, there is one copy left. Also there was one copy of Sword of Mana for $8.48 (Personally, I was not a big fan of the game)

Hey I just called my local Toys R Us and they priced Shadow Hearts Covenent at $49.99. Is this price drop YMMV? Or are they mistakened (they didn't scan it just looked at the printed price tag). Anyone else seen Shadow Hearts for more the $20 at TRU

OP or anyone working in TRU, I picked up a few guides (15 to be exact, so not really hoarding anything), checked out fine, it was $0.15, when I was walking out I saw some green tag stuff so I went back to the cashier. Now it seems like some of the manager level people kow about the penny guides and took my guides back, saying that they can't sell the penny guides. they were also saying that they have to take them all off the rack when the price goes to a penny.

I just want to know if this is the rules, that if price changes to a penny, they have to take them off the rack.

what was funny was that the guy working there took every single guide there to check the prices. there must have been at least 40- 50 unique ones.

Waitaminnit...they took your guides back AFTER you bought them? As in, the transaction was complete and they reversed it, refunding your money? That's some bull****, man. They'd have had to call in reinforcements before they took a damn thing back that I'd already paid for.

Thanks OP. Picked up Shadow Hearts tonight. It was marked at 49.99 on the shelf but scanned at 19.95. The employees recognized me from the green tag sale last week when I bought around 12 games. One guy asked, "How can you play all those games?" Good question my man, good question.

Picked up Shadow Hearts...thanks OP!

I also got Drake for $3.98...that'll provide some hardcore drunken entertainment tonight after I get back from the bars.
