TRU Sale starting 3/7: BOGO PS/PS2 Value Games

Starting 3/7 at Toys R Us, all PS2/PS games in the R-Zone value racks will be Buy One get One free. They are underselect skn numbers though so don't try to fool them by saying you got a NFL Street from there.

There are alot of Greatest Hits games in there, so if you are looking to pick up some titles that you have missed, it would be a good opprotinuty. One problem is that boxes are shipped with around 24 games of a select type. They might have PS2 Greatest Hits, Sports, Racing, Family, Action. So it is sort of hard to tell which games are in the box.

Also lately they have been shipping some of the games out of the plastic outer case. So if you see a game $19.99 that has a yellow circle sticker saying R-Zone Value Game that is also included but ask first.

I grabbed Seek & Destroy (PS2) and Blaster Master: Blasting Again (PSX) for $10 total. Not really much interesting there. A lot of Mad Maestro, PS2 and PSX GH games. It kind of sucks that this is PS2/PSX only. It would be easier to choose stuff if GameCube was included too, but oh well.
 
I bought PK Out of the Shadows and Metrosim.... $14.99.

Then I went back and bought Seek and Detroy and Mad Maestro. $9.99

If Sly Cooper is included, I will make another run. :) (Columbia, MD)
 
Richmond north of the river has some of the following PS2 games:

King of Route 66

and several others of the typical Value Games that always have. The sale is NOT marked--I had to ask someone in the VG dept., and they confirmed the sale is limited to PS1 and PS2 games, ONLY on the Value Rack.
 
I haven't had any luck yet with this deal. I really wanted ratchet & clank and sly. I know I saw them at one toys r us for sure. It is almost as if someone bought all the good games. Oh well I will try another TRU tomorrow.
 
i got Mad Maestro, Metropolismania, Stretch Panic, Harvest Moon, Kengo: Master of Bushido, and Escape from MOnkey Island.
 
I don't know about you guys, but I saw some XBox games included in this deal (I don't own XBox, so I don't remember the titles). They had blue plastic casings (DVD cases were still green), not clear ones like those on the PS2 games.

Just got Monkey Island and Harvest Moon for the PS2.
Don't forget to get gift receipts. I plan to return Monkey Island for Beyond Good and Evil. So essentially I would have gotten BGandE for $10. Not sure if I can return the free game since the gift receipt will ring up as Zero. Would like to trade that one in for the PS2 NBA Street Vol. 2 but they are still selling it for $34.99. Hoping they will drop the price to $19.99.

i went to get Hitman 2, Baldur's Gate, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper. i look at the back they all have the UPC sticker on the game. when they go ring it up, totaled up cost over 80. i told them about that special UPC sticker and they wont listen. they went and ask they said only Baldur's Gate is part of the deal. the BoGo rack section all have the special UPC sticker. the worker said only the games with the Value sticker. they put sly, hitman2, and ratchet at different section. this TRU was at Times Square NY. i didnt pick up anything.
 
The BOGO sale is listed in the ad circular. The people at the TRU I went to didn't believe it until I showed them. Just match the UPC numbers in the ad up with the items in the value racks.

Went today to pick up some games and HSX and Blowout weren't showing up for the promotion (because they don't have the Value games sku). I asked the lady why they weren't included in the B1G1 offer and she went over to read the sign.

She came back and told me they were Buy One get TWO free and ended up taking off enough money in order to make the deal B1G2.

So I ended up getting $180 worth of games for $60.

HIGHLY YMMV.

First off, I wouldn't allow that at my store. You might be able to get away with it mainly because if you get customer service they don't know about sales.

There are some games that have the value price sticker that are no longer on the rack. Which is sort of odd, but that is how it is. In the in-store handout they list the skn numbers which really do you no good. The game should have a value price sticker on it though. The sales should ring in automatically if it is part of the deal.

I hope you realise that you could have gotten an extra game for free, since it was buy 1 get one free...

Unless it was buy two get one free in your store or something (which is the sale Toys R Us usually has), kinda like with the person claiming that in his store it was buy one get two free...

Anyone rememer when Toys R Us had the buy one get one free sale on regular games? Granted, it was on select games, but they still had a great selection.

I remember getting Midnight Club 2 and NBA Street Vol. 2 a couple weeks after NBA Street Vol. 2 came out, and luckily, you still can't find a better deal than ~$40 new anywhere on these games, not to mention they themselves are very good. Well worth teh $50 I spent on them.

EDIT: Hah, I can't count... I dunno how, but I must have missed one of those games while reading. I'll leave this post so everyone can laugh at my stupidity. :(
 
The ad can be found in the store in case there is any confusion with the associates about whether the sale is on. There shouldn't be at this point, I figure. It is Tuesday now, after all.
 
Man you lucky Bastards My Toysrus didn' t have anything but shit all they had was One copy of MDK2 Armageddon and a bunch of sports games that was it nothing good at all.

how can that be the case? there's no disclaimer associated with these games in the store (that I've seen) that says they can't be returned once they're purchased.

I went down to my store in Phoenix Arizona and they had tons of Sly Coopers, 1 Ratchet and Clank, 1 Harvest Moon, and many other titles already named, I bought the last Ratchet and Clank and a Sly Cooper. I am thinking of going back down there and picking up some more games.
 
Just went to my TRU to find Harvest Moon :( It was already gone and I remember seeing so many. So if anyone wanna pick one up for me? :)

Anyone see Mobile Light Force 2? I thought that one was going for cheap.

That + Seek & Destroy for $10 would be a deal.

Would also be good if Two Towers was a part of this deal.

Before I head out.. Do you know what games they had at the Milford store?
 
*looks on enviously, waiting for XB deals*

I'm tempted to ask my aunt to take me to TRU just to get in this deal. My cousin has PS2 and only 2 games, so that would give me an excuse to go on a spending spree!
