TRU Score: PSP with 20% and $5 coupons!!

HeadRusch

CAGiversary!
Walked into TRU today with the 20% and $5 off coupons.
Bought Sony PSP, Ridge Racers PSP, and a 12" General Greivous figure as Ridge Racers was only $39.99. Figured I'd use the stackable coupons, if they still accepted them, on the RidgeRacers and SW figure.

Dude rang me up....then said "oh wait, I forgot to ring your coupons". Ran through the coupons...and it took 20%..OFF THE PSP!

I saved like Sixty Five bucks!!!!

He said "hey thats not supposed to happen...but who am I to argue with the computer!". Wooooooooooo!

Anyhow, I'm sure YMMV, but it never hurts to try at your local TRU....!!

And on first inspection...no screen defects, no sticky buttons (yet)...and no dead pixels!!! Basking in the warm glow of an LCD screen and good Karma :)
Where do you get these coupons? And wouldn't 20% off $250 be $200? I'm so confused.
Yes, that would be only if you use the 20%. OP also stated that they had some $5 off coupons too. So after those you get to the price of $185.

Now where do you get the coupons? I was holding off on a PSP, but if I could get this to work I would pick one up now.

Hmm, I've used the coupons a few times but only on software, but now that I think a bit the cashier didn't even read them to notice that they can't be used on hardware. I guess you just have to get lucky or hope the cashier doesnt' care much. A good find.

The kid had seen the coupons before.....he looked at the screen, looked at the coupon. Being an upstanding citizen I said "I thought those weren't supposed to work on Videogame Hardware?" and he said "They're not.....oh well, I'm not going to argue with the computer!" and that was that.

I got the hell out before someone changed their mind. :)

I wonder...if the coupon is invalid with it throw a code when they scan it? Or will the coupon be accepted and its up to the operator to know what to appy it to, and what not to apply it to?

I'm guessing the former...which means.......the coupon isn't set up right in their system or....??? I would think it wouldn't allow the coupon to be used if it found invalid items on the receipt. As it is, the receipt automatically breaks down the discount across all the items anyhow.

$200 - $5 = $185? Uh, no. I think he meant he saved $65 off the total purchase, not just the PSP. Still a good deal, though!

$65 off the total purchase, using the 20% off on the PSP and also using stackable $5 coupons.

Reading is good.

The price of $185 would have come from the fact that the OP said that they had some $5 off coupons so that he had three of them that worked on the sale of the PSP.

You know you guys make this too much like *work* :)

I'm looking at the receipt right now...the PSP came home with me for a total cost of $192.99

The coupon took the whole 20% off the PSP (I guess as the highest priced item!?), and then took most of the "$10 off $50 purchase" from it as well. The other two items on my list (Game and a $20 toy) rang up for nearly full price, the remainder of what was left from the $10 coupon...which was spread across all 3 purchases.

.....yeah, it was a good day to shop :)
