I noticed last year TurboTax quite giving refunds for efiling. The least expensive option I can find is $39.99 or so for the deluxe (Fed and State version) of Turbotax...

Anybody know of a better route?

It's not Turbo Tax, but it's 9.95 to use. Taxslayer.com. Pretty good interface.

It didn't cost me to Efile with direct deposit for Federal or State because it's one of The Arizona Free File Alliance services this year. You should check your local Department of Revenue site and see if they have a similar service if you're interested.

Turbo Tax deluxe is $34.95 at Amazon

I hate that they charge to efile. Now I will have to wait to get my refund...

Costco.com has Turbotax Deluxe for $35.99 with a $15.00 automatic/instant coupon, making the price $20.99 plus s/h + sales tax. Seems the best price on it so far.

Turbo tax mails me a free copy every year. It was < $40 after efileing fed and state last year through the software. I'm sure it could be about $20 cheaper to efile but my taxes are simple and I'd rather just get it done ASAP and get my rebate$

They did tell me one year they sent out my SSN in a 36 digit string so maybe I get special treatment.

staples has it on sale for 39.99

plus the oppurtunity to get great software for cheap after rebates

Like Norton 2008 for 9.99, Easy CD and DVD Creater,
