The game has been announced for multiple console and handheld game platforms, including next-generation game systems. (*No specific game systems have been announced, but it is expected that this system will be one of those included in the release of the the next Turok.)

Meh?

I'm not going to lie about wanting it to turn out well though, because I would be pretty happy since I really enjoyed the original Turok.

I don't really remember enjoying Turok all that much... but here's hoping for a good game -- we can always use more of those.

Much like Tomb Raider and Driver, this series has a lot of work to do to earn it's respect back.

I'll remain optimistic.

The first one on the N64 (I think) was actually pretty cool in my opinion. Not too sure about the other iterations in the series though. They'll really have to wow people to get the series back on track.

I have no hope for this game.

Not only is this the developers' first game; here is a list of what the publisher has pumped out.

:whistle2:? It's your typical cash-in history.

I can't look at anything Turok, sorry. In the early 90's I was just hitting my stride collecting comics, and that fucking Turok #1 with the shiny cover came out and almost drove me to suicide. That thing was EVERYWHERE. They'd put it out so you could never miss it, then mention it as you were checking out. After you said "no thanks," they would just get more determined, nodding towards the shiny chromium (remember that?) cover, thinking it would seduce you. "But it's from Valiant Comics - the new LEADING NAME in comic book entertainment!" They wouldn't let you leave the store without it. So I'd make my way towards the door with my copy of Savage Dragon and Amazing Spider-Man, as the guy called out to me..."Sir...SIR! You forgot your Turok #1! YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO PAY!! It's FREE! GRATIS! ON THE HOUSE!" As I tried to exit, he would jump over the counter to try to force one into my bag. A struggle would ensue with the nerdy guy behind the register insisting I not walk out the door without at least 4 copies of it.

I made it all the way to 1995 without getting it, which HAS to be some kind of record.

...then I ordered a few trade paperbacks from a mail-order comics retailer, and they sent that along as a free bonus. BASTARDS.

So, uh, I don't think I can play this game.
Cerebral Bore in HD. Hope this one turns out nicely.
God that weapon was awesome. I laughed so hard killing my brothers. CB is still one of the best FPS weapons of all time imo.

I've got a copy...what's your address?
Haven't gamers been put through enough?
So true. Unless it is the next Goldeneye or Halo which injects new life in FPS games I am passing. There's only so many of these things I can stand to play - after a while it's all the same...

well it can't get any worst, right?

Thou I have to say it doesn't really look anything like Turok to me. It looks like Doom meets Jurassic Park. =/

The first one was good and then the series got worse and worse with each sequel. Who knows maybe this one will turn the series around. Doubt it though since a New Developer is on it. I mean they did the right thing with Tomb Raider by giving to a developer like Crystal Dynamics thats what turned that series around. Oh and those screens...blah screens mean nothing. Look at MLB 2K6...we need video.

If it can even remotely emulate the joy derived from Turok 2 and Rage Wars, there may be something worthwhile here. I'm not holding my breath though.

Damnit! As soon as Acclaim died and someone else took over the turok liscence, I said "great, now someone can revive the series!" Now I see the track record of the company, and I know this won't end well.

Fixing the series would have to be one of the simplest revivals ever. All you need is to put the "hunt" back in dinosaur hunter. Screw fighing robots, screw fighting dinosaur-mutants, and definately screw fighting other people. A level should include an objective (For example: Protect the village!) and a few dinosaur enemies (A T-Rex for one level, a swarm of tiny Compsognathi (The tiny dinosaurs from Jurassic Park 2) for another, a brontasaurus/other herbivore afflicted with some disease that causes them to go beserk)

The goal of the level would be to complete the objective, but with a completely different opponent than the usual evil soldiers of most FPSes. Instead you've got a gigantic T-Rex with a hellofalot more health/strength than you. The enemies are stronger than the player in every way possible except one disadvantage: intelligence (and a lack of guns). Figure out how the T-Rex thinks, chose the best possible weapon, figure out your personal strengths, and kill the fuck. No chance that run-and-gun would work in this game, it would be all strategy.

I loved Valiant comics, but I also remember the flood of Turok #1s and chromium covers (Ninjak, Bloodshot). I still have my collection of all the rare issues... Rai #2, Harbinger #4, and Magnus #12, the first appearance of Turok in the Valiant universe, not to mention most of the others. Those were the days.

I say give it one more chance. If this one sucks, then protest it.

Personally I thought Turok 1-3 was good. Never played Rage Wars and I hated Evolution.

This franchise has taken one of the biggest (if not the biggest) falls from grace I can remember. The first two were good but the rest keep on falling off until the franchise became a joke. It's a shame since the Turok series had such great potential but was completely thrown off track.

I really hope this game turns out to be good.

Those screens look mighty nice, though I've already played King Kong and hated it. This game looks like it'll play very similarly (just with more violence and dramatically enhanced graphics). I just can't get into "jungle shooters."

I feel like an abused consumer with this franchise. I never got into the first game, then Seeds of Evil put itself into my top 10 games of all time (the only reason I bought it was to see the AMAZING effects of the N64 RAM Pack). From there I set my sights on all other Turok games. In fact, I PRE-ORDERED Turok Evolution only to trade it in a week later.

I really hope this game rekindles that Turok 2 feeling, but sadly I have a feeling it won't (probably because I felt the same about Evolution).

The AI looks really dumb though. The dino's just sit there eating something and don't react at all when he throws exploding charges.
