I'm tempted by this. I've heard that wireless headsets can get hissing and popping from static but is that really a common problem? Curious to hear from people who've actually used these sets. TIA

I have been using a pair of X41's for a while now.. I have not had any problems with hissing and popping. I know this has happened with different people's setups.. I have my base station a few feet from my xbox and thats pretty close to my router and cable modem.

I love my X41's and they have been highly rated by everyone who uses them. I would recommend these to anyone. I know they are refurbs but this is the lowest price I've seen these go for

I love this comment on Woot:

"Refurbished.. that could mean anything from barely open-box to reeks-of-bongwater and cigars, with some cat hair, stains, and curly hairs of questionable origin in the ear pads."

The fact that it's refurbished is great. Re-certified is the one to stay away from. Refurbished almost always means it was sent back to the company and rehauled until back to factory standards with a very small tolerance for cosmetic blemishes.

Re-certified simply means someone looked at it, tried it out, and said "meh, seems fine to me!", then moved on to the next one. My Re-C Ninja Master Prep had bits of dried up "leftovers" in it, if it had been refurbed that wouldn't have happened.

I bought the wired X11's for $30 @ Target a few weeks back. They're now going to be a present and I'm upgrading to wireless and more importantly 7.1. In for one.

For what it's worth I kept hearing the same knock on the Ear Force Delta's (XP500) before I bought them about hissing/static etc caused by Turtle Beach operating on the same frequency as most routers & wifi devices. Astros I believe operate on 5.8... I Bit anyway and I have no problems at all. Totally different price range but yea Turtle Beach is the shit and i'll never go back to Tritton.

Receiver sits on same shelf as Wireless 360/PS3 & Wireless HDMI receiver from cable box in the basement. Router is coming from behind me and HDMI from below me and I haven't had any trouble.

I decided to get a set, I bought the ps3 ones sony released with the 7.1 for my ps3 and I gotta say I love them and their extremely comfortable. I was looking at these for my xbox for quite a while now and they have always been in the $140 price range at amazon so I grabbed them here since there's no telling if they will go any lower anywhere else.

That's why i love internet..it gives us free valuable information.

I own the X4s and those do have a hiss noticeable at normal operating volume levels? I rarely use them because of it and picked up some wired headphones and they sound 10 times better at a third the price.

Awesome deal. I really don't need to spend money right now but I've kind of been in the market for a nice surround headset and I've never seen these cheaper.

Just ordered one too....

by chance does anyone know if you have to use the Amigo II sound card to have it work on the PS 3? Just wondering if there would be a 3rd party alternative to it.
