I think this is a good deal. I was looking for good decent mic after hating the one that came with my Xbox 360. I found this one for $50.98 shipped. Got it in 3 days. I'm very impressed at the sound quality and build quality. Great thing is that it also can work for your PC.

Next cheapest deal I could find was Amazon at about $53 shipped but that one takes a 5-9 days for it to be delivered.

I just smashed my X2's in a fit of rage playing Dead Space. How does this model hook to you TV? Are there mutliple cords back to the TV and/or Xbox?

Thanks!

If you have the Xbox audio dongle that shipped with the Elites, you can just plug it into that (using the red/white composite inputs). Otherwise, you'd have to plug it into your TV's audio out. It also has a USB cord to power it, so that has to be plugged in. And of course, the cable that goes to your controller (for live chat). If you're cable adverse, stay away from this set, you'll end up with a mess of them.

The other notable downside to this set is the hiss/white noise they produce. Generally only noticeable during quiet moments. You can reduce the effect by jacking up in-game audio settings and turning the headphones down but the hiss will never completely go away. I've read that some people are able to get rid of it by using something other than the Xbox to power this headset but it made no difference to me.

On the plus side, the microphone is awesome. I no longer have to shout to have people kinda/maybe/sorta hear me. Seriously, the MS wired headset is such a giant piece of garbage. Another plus, IMO, is that the cushion on the ear cups is porous enough to let most ambient noise in. I have no problem hearing my wife with these on. I guess that might be a negative for some people.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with these. I use them even when playing single player games. I was able to snag these for $35 from Dell a month ago, worth it at that price. I don't think I'd pay $51 for them though.

I'm seriously hoping it was during attempting to try to survive the ADS attack with 50% shield left...Can't imagine any other even semi-fustrating part of the game, lol.

Thanks for the input.

I guess I'm going to have to put up with the cables if I'm going to smash my nice wireless pair like a toddler.

I am embarrassed to say that I flipped out over the shooting gallery because I had been having a bad day and wanted to beat it in 1-2 tries. Needless to say, I didn't and my equipment suffered because of it (I smashed a controller too).

Back to Battlefield BC2 where I belong.

I picked these up last week from the UK. If you use these for game chat on 360, and you've got the sound from your TV going through the headphones, my personal experience was much improved by pressing the big X-Box button on the pad, going into preferences, and changing the game chat audio settings so voices go "through the TV" or something - the sound was still through the headset, but it was so much clearer than before. ^^ (You have to press 'B' to go back before the new setting takes effect)

I paid just under $50 for these myself, and I think they're worth it, as they're good for PC stuff (including Skype) too, and you'd probably have to spend over $150 to get anything noticeably better.
