tv on dvd works great for me...ive yet to have my life settled down to the point where i can actually develop week by week schedules....my sleeping times are always varied and i'm always doing something...i always miss shows and if i weren't to miss one, there is probably a couple of other shows on at the same time that i'd want to watch too...i know tivo is available, but i just don't care for it right now...i love the convenience of not having to time myself every week for a show and not having to wait til the following week to see what happens...not to mention being able to watch my favorite shows whenever i want....also...not to mention the shows that have been cancelled and we'll never see life on television again

yeah but it still seems like a TON of money for something you might only watch once. I mean, I can definitely see how it could work for some people but I guess just not for me. Maybe if I was in college or single or didn't have a baby or just had more time to kill in general I would be into it more. I keep telling myself that once HDDVD burners come out I'm going to join Netflix and go crazy with the TV shows but I know I'll never get around to it.

Well, like you said, there is value in something that isn't on the air anymore that you enjoy. Buffy is one of my favorite shows ever but I never got around to watching Firefly. I almost bought the DVD set until I heard Sci-Fi was going to be rerunning them because I heard so many good things about it. I can't believe this show got cancelled so quick - I absolutely love it and I can't wait for the movie. I'm going to be pissed when I've seen all 13 episodes and there's no more to look forward to... I'm sure the time will come when I buy a DVD set for this exact reason though.

I think TV on DVD is one of the best things to come of the format change from vhs to dvd. I am always away from home for work (Amtrak) and it is nice to be fully entertained with your favorite shows while away from cable and you can easily watch 1 or 2 episodes and not have to dedicate 2 hours to watching a movie. If i need to kill a half hour I just pop in one of my favorite shows. Plus the value of them is far greater than a movie on DVD, 500+ minutes for $25 not to bad. If you notice at some B&M stores the TV on DVD section is just as big as the movie section so obviously the consumers have answered that they want more. (good site for this topic www.tvshowsondvd.com )

In reference to those saying that it is not economical to buy the series or that they don't have time, all I have to say is, think of the children.

When I get older I do not expect the trend of current Saturday morning cartoons to get any better than the crap they have out now. Some of the shows are so terrible, not to mention that they are bringing back old shows and making them suck! Like Transformers or the new TMNT. They are making them suck by trying to bring back something that was awesome and making it suck because they can't think of any original ideas.

Now to my point. Since Saturday morning cartoon shows suck so much, I'm going to be buying all of the cartoons that kicked ass on DVD (i.e. Transformers, G.I. Joe, etc.) so that when I have kids I can sit them down on Saturday mornings and have them watch GOOD cartoons on DVD. Not the stupid crap they have on now. Their little friends will be talking about Pokemon or some stupid Power Rangers Turbo Lax 18 and my kids will be able to say, "Optimus Prime could kick that little electric squirrels ass!" or "Sergeant Slaughter could single handedly rip apart that stupid Power Ranger Backdoor Insertion Droid!" And they'll be right.

And don't even get me started on The Wiggles.

I have all of Yu Yu Hakusho, it counts because it was on TV for awhile.

Also I plan to get the Inside (I can't believe it got cancelled for that dance shit) and House M.D. if/when they get made on DVD.

But then again that's not really tv, it's HBO.

Just a bit of advice, the edit works well for stuff you forgot.

Not trying to be rude, just helpful.

I only have Futurama and Family Guy series right now. Both are complete (plus I got a sweet deal on the Futurama set). I watch them both all the time.

I would like to pick up Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and X-Files (up to Season 5 or 6 though only). I'm not a big TV person though.

24 Seasons 1-3 (I plan on buying 4 when it comes out)
Arrested Development (I will buy season 2 the day it comes out)
Batman the Animated Series (I'll buy season 3 during the next DDD sale)
Family Guy
Firefly
Futurama
Earth Final Conflict (I have seasons 3-5, which are the only ones on DVD.)
Martian Successor Nadesico (I got it for free with Earth Final Conflict)
The Office Seasons 1 & 2, and the specials
The Office Season 1 USA version
Quantum Leap Season 1 & 2 (I plan on getting season three during the next DDD sale)
Reno 911 ( I plan on buying season two as soon as I find it used at one of my local Gamestops)
Scrubs (I can't wait for season 2 on DVD)
Star Wars Clone Wars

I also have the first Farscape Starburst edition. I've never seen the show, and the episodes on the DVD were ok, so I'll order one or two more of the Starburst editions before deciding if I'm going to buy the entire series.

Also, I'll be buying season one of Battlestar Galactica the day it comes out.

I plan on owning all of the X Files when I can find them used for a low enough price.
