I purchases two TVs today from a college surplus sale (both around 27 inches). Anyway, the one works fine, but the other won't power on. I took it apart, and everything appears to be well connected. Any tips on how to fix this?

First off, Always try used items before buying them. To me it sounds like a power supply problem. Maybe some solder made a short in the circuit or maybe the power button is crap. Did u try to power it on with a remote or just the console itself.

I just tried the console it self. The 2 TVs together were under $60, so I'm not hurting if I can't get it working. I do regret not trying it out first though!!!

It didn't come with a remote, but I may try buying a universal to see if I can get it to power on with a remote. Other than that, I really have no other ideas on how to get it to work. Thanks for you help pimpinc333!!!

O yes something I forgot always check the fuse first. I never found a bad Fuse in a TV before but if it does have one, it'll be a very very easy fix.

I've got a dead 27" Stereo RCA in my garage. One day I went to turn it on and nothing happened. I checked everything and it all looked good to me. I figured it would be cheaper to buy a new one rather than taking it to a repair shop. Someone told me the tuner can go out and cause it to not turn on, if it's true that could be the problem with yours.

If anyone in my area wants it feel free to come pick it up. The fuse is no longer in it and it may be missing some screws holding the back casing on.

Nothing is more fun than waking up at 4am to fight over TVs. :D[/quote]

And DVD players, and of course, games! :)
