I know this is a new game so I don't expect much. But is there anywhere I can get free shipping, or maybe a few bucks off somewhere?

best deal.. dunno if shipping is free or not though. maybe do a in store pickup.

GC version comes out Dec.11-13 sometime. I posted this question early so I would know in advance where to order from.

You assume that because I am responding to a question means that I care what the question is.
 
I cancelled my Gamecube Zelda months ago when the Wii version was announced. I'm kicking myself, because now its looking to be rare (at least from what I have heard). All the stores here quit taking preorders and are worried that they won't get enough copies to fill the preorders.

I'm hoping to pick up a copy, just in case the Wii one sucks.

if you have a Wii, then you can just plug in a GameCube controller or Classic controller, no need to buy the GC one just to use the standard controller.
