Two free avatar items with Rewards reimbursement

Xbox Live Rewards is currently running a special rewards offer for the month of September.

"Purchase any 2 Avatar items or more in September and get 80 Points back."

There are a handful of items to the cost of 40 msps in the marketplace. All you have to do is buy 2 items that cost 40 points each and you'll eventually be reimbursed with 80 points (the full amount you spent)!

thanks op, I would have just blew this "sale" off if I did not notice this. Now I have a new pair of shades and a watch for free. They are not the greatest items but like I always say if it is free its me.
 
In headwear under WWE Smackdown vs Raw there are three hats that are 40 each. Undertaker's, DX's and Cena's.

Trying to decide if I wanna go free or else actually buy something decent.
 
the best part about this deal is that you'll get 80 points credited back to your Xbox Rewards account which will help a lot of people get over the minimum 100 point barrier for the points to depost to your XBL account. Or at the very least if you have 0 Rewards points, do this months survey for 20 points + the 80 from this promo. It's like you're making an extra 20 MS points.
 
In the end, I bought a pair of aviator shades and some fable II gloves. Not bad. :)

Plus, like nypickle pointed out, this will put me over the 100 point reward barrier, so I'll be getting 140 points deposited in my account when all's said and done!

you can spend 160 points (or more) on an item if you want. The deal is buy 2 items to get 80 points back. The reason why people are talking about 40 point items because buying (2) 40 point items = 80 points, then you get 80 points returned to you from the Xbox Rewards promo making those (2) 40 point items free once your Rewards account gets credited.

No, Canadians should be able to do this too. I got an email from xbox awards about this promotion and I'm in Canada, not too sure about other countries though. I guess if you have awards program then you should be able to take part in this. I don't find anything I like but its a good find nonetheless.

Same thing just happened to me. That is one HELL of a glitch.
Is there a way to undo that - like recover an avatar?
 
Thanks, OP. Got the monocle to go with my tuxedo and Garrus's eyepiece (which cost me an extra 40 spacebucks, but it looks cool enough I don't care.)
 
picking up the Undertaker hat and the Monkey Island eyepatch (would have snagged the Jon Cena ballcap, but my won insisted on the eyepatch :D)

its up for me, but it says my avatar doesn't exist and when I logged into my profile on my xbox, it showed my avatar for a second then replaced it with the greyed out filler avatar thing.
 
So this is how they get you. Offer to pay you back after two items, delete your avatar after the first. If only we had seen it coming... :p

Hey, would using those saved clothing sets bring back what the avatar looks like?
