Question 1: I just got XBLive, and i'm looking for some cool games to play online. I love online SOCOM 2, and I'd like to get some games that are as much like that experience as i can. I just ordered SC:pT from CompUSA, but i was also considering Ghost Recon, Castle Wolfenstein, CounterStrike, etc. What do you guys recommend?

Question 2: I'm a Star Wars geek, I'll admit. But, I don't usually dig RPGs aside from Zelda. Do you guys think i will be disappointed with KOTOR? Is it like a traditional RPG, but with SW characters? Or does it have enough action in it to satisfy someone with more action/adventure-oriented game tastes?

discuss...

1: i haven't tried the online portions of any of those games but i would have to say ghost recon would be the best since i didn't like the others.

2: KOTOR is a bioware rpg, meaning standard baldur's gate queue point click and watch your guys fight. I thought i would hate it but i ended up loving it and playing it 2 times through back to back.

Ghost Recon is great. I didn't think much of it when I first got to sample it, but once you play with someone who knows what they're doing, it becomes an awesome game. That is not to say you won't enjoy single player, but multiplay rocks.

KOTOR is good enough to break boundaries. I'm not too big into stat-heavy RPGs myself. KOTOR doesn't bog you down with stats like many other RPGs. It's not full on action (you just issue commands to your party) but you see fights in real time if you want and it makes for a fast paced game.

Deffinitely get rainbow six 3, and maybe counter strike if you are into that type of FPS

Yeah, i forgot to mention R63 in my first post. with regard to these types of games, i don't really give a shit about the single-player mode, so the online stuff is much more important to me.

Keep those opinions coming!!

Thanks!

I say go with RTCW and RS3. RS3 is probably the most of the bunch like Socom 2, whereas Wolfenstein is more of a straight shooter

First off, Zelda isn't an RPG, if I were to put it in one category, I'd say it's an adventure game. Now to answer your question, if you're a big Star Wars geek, then you'll be addicted to the game for the story alone. It's defintely a must-buy for anyone with an Xbox.

I'm not even a big Star Wars fan, and I loved it. 50+ hours my first play through. You won't be disappointed.

Yeah, i guess you're right about the Zelda thing. It is more of an adventure game than an RPG, but i definitely think it has RPG elements; i suppose that's why i like it even though i don't really dig traditional RPGs.

Your opinion of KOTOR is just what i was getting at! I guess my main point of asking that question was to find out whether of not the story and gameplay are enough to offset my RPGphobia; from what you and others are saying, i think that i will definitely be buying it...

thanks guys!

if your not into rpg's do not get KoToR even if your a starwars freak tooooooooooo much reading.
if you into multiplayer action games like myself get Crimson skies or RS3

Any FPS on live is awesome. I dont really care for for fps but on live it is a whole nother ballgame. Counterstrike is great on live. So is wolfenstein. Almost all live games are great on live!

I have never been a huge RPGs (in fact I've never been able to play very much of any of the final fantasies, I logged about 20 minutes into X!) but KOTOR is amazing. I honestly don't know of many people who haven't liked it. I think the reason its so fun is because its soo open ended and there's so much possibility for customization. Just too fun.

Splinter Cell: PT simply rocks. R63 is fun, too. Those are the only two games I bother to play on live -- Crismon Skies is fun multiplayer too though, I just don't have it at the moment.

i remember hearing how good Wolfenstein was back when it launched (what with the different types of team-member roles) as far as the online play went, but i got nervous when i saw that it had dropped in price lately. I guess that's just because its been out for a while...

OK, i'll be picking up KOTOR (i'll take my chances!) and probably Wolf or R63.

The whole plot came from relly old dark force comic(i think that was the name. If your into fps and stuff like that acadamy is great and has solid single and multiplyer (live). This game deals with after kyle katarn and luke skywalker taning you. So if your looking for live games look at this. (some people gave it horrable reveiws).

I don't like Star Wars, and I couldn't stand the Baldur's Gate stuff....but I still was addicted from KOTOR from the first day I played it until I finished it. Can't go wrong there.
