Two Worlds - Free to play MMORPG
I went to GS today to see if it was in and they said Friday. I paid it off while I was there, so hopefully its good.
I just saw an ad that said 8/24 in stores, so it looks like it is definitely Friday.

I'm amazed people are willing to pre-order this when its been known they have released a crappy product and have been slowly making it playable via constant patches.
I'm amazed people are willing to pre-order this when its been known they have released a crappy product and have been slowly making it playable via constant patches.
compared to crappy products that are left alone? Regardless of quality, it shows a lot when a company keeps updating a game once its released and its not pay per month.

when i first played ffxi, it was NOTHING compared to what its become. When you listen to the players feedback and adjust so, you can go a long way. They have been doing this and we get a much better product than that which launched in Europe.

Many of us have been waiting for a game like Monster Hunter/PSO to come to the 360 and be free to play. As long as the initial product is 7 or higher and they keep workin at it, I'm willing to give them the time of day.

Those looking for an MMO will be greatly disappointed, but if you take it for what it is, this game still looks interesting....to me at least.

The game shipped horribly broken, as in skills such as De-horse to knock enemies off horses but no enemies in the game actually RODE horses. It was clearly released way to early and has been having MASSIVE updates to merely make it playable. Theres a big difference between how this game launched and how every other game launches.

With a record like that i'm amazed anyone even trusts the developer. I mean if you bought a car and it needed weekly tune-ups for 6 months before it drove half-way decent you wouldnt want it would you?

if the tune ups were free...why not! Besides the massive patches are included in the version we are getting...

Maybe its just me then, i mean that type of tweaking is normal for a PC game but there isnt an excuse for it on consoles. Developers are just being lazy and want to start getting money asap by releasing an unfinished product and finishing it up after people have paid their money for it.

I refuse to support people who do that.

I've heard that the game was sent to Microsoft multiple times before it passed certification, because in its previous states they thought it was way too buggy. Morrowind went through the same problem back on the original Xbox, failing certification for two months before passing, and we all know Morrowind is pretty much the best game ever.

So have faith- I very much doubt that Microsoft would let a glitchy half-baked game onto their system. Worry about the game itself being crap. :D

Best Buy still has it listed for the 24th as release date. I would really like to see a review on this. I'm getting it regardless but geez its been a long wait!

Sure they would. They let Hour of Victory release...... :)

According to gamefly my copy shipped today....hopefullly Ill get it sometime before the end of next week knowing gamestop's ship times.

Well, time for a short review.

The game itself is pretty entertaining. There are tons of side quests in every part of the game and if you do them all you can play for a couple of days.

However the main quest is very short - i actually did alot of sidequests till abount level 40 - then i became bored because there was no monster in the game that was a challange for me. Even 20 orcs at once wasnt a problem, sand dragons, lava dragons - all easy.

Well back to the main quests - i managed to gather all 5 parts of the relict in like 3 hours and the last part of the main quests took like 15min. The final boss is a pushover - he didnt even scratch my health at all. The funny thing is - his minon razael or what he is called was actually stronger. He killed me in one hit with my 10k HP - i actually had to put on all my earth magic protection then he was quiet easy because he only did like 20% HP damage.

The biggest problem with the game is the difficulty, i played on normal and finished at lvl47. I could have easily beat the game at lvl30-35 i would say. After lvl10+ it goes down hill - the mobs are to weak for you - if you do to much side questing you get way to strong on your way to the south - i was doing 14000-16000 damage a hit with a katana - there was no need to get better gear - didnt make any difference. With the spell school magic stacking - i increased my strength by 200% which lasts for 5min. My earth shield absorbed 70% of the damage and fired back to the attacker... etc you get the point.

Money is useless - for example after level20-30 you just pick up everything from a few dungeons and teleport back to the city with a teleport stone - in like 1hour you will have 100k or more and you will never spent it !

Attack skills are worthless, see above - there is no point in using dirty tricks or anything else when every average mob in the game dies in like 3 hits (golems and dragons take a bit longer because they have more HP).

The cutscenes are a major let down, it feels very unfished. However i did not encounter any bug except for the cutscenes missing - the game needs alot of fine tuning for skills, magic and level curve.

I would say the game deserves a 7/10, from the gameplay perspective its alot better then oblivion but sadly not as polished.

PC Review not mine, from the 1.4 version.

I guess 1.5 came out today the patch is over a gig.

It looks interesting- honestly, but for all I've read thus far it bodes well for a rental at best. I've got a few guys on my FL who would probably gamefly it with me---Heck I played PSU for about a month earlier this year and that was pretty entertaining.

I went ahead and used one of my coke reward rentals for this. We just popped it in and Erin started to make a character, only to find out there's no female character option. Now she's all pissed off.

We'll see if we actually get to the game, and a possible reveiw will follow.

Can I say told you so now?

This might be a good game in 6 months when everything is ironed out at least and its in bargain bin for $10-20

You mean you're him!? The One -- the only one who thought it was going to be bad!?

After playing it for several hours, I have to say it's no ALL bad.

However:

The voice-acting and facial animations are AWFUL. It's almost like a rennaisance fair put on by a bunch of drunk hobos.

Online, while laggy at times and outright unplayable at others, was pretty good for the short periods when it went smoothly.

My major gripe is with the online save system. It only saves your character when the game is ended by either the host or if you leave. Twice this game (my 360?) crashed and froze up. My 5+ levels and countless weapons I spent a good bit of time earning? Gone!

Hopefully they will have the servers/game fixed before this game is due back at BB.

I agree with you on this. But this game is not my cup of tea. I was going to buy it buy they were sold out so I rented it. OYE I am glad I didn't buy it. Its worth a rental atleast.

Well, Erin really started playing it today and I think she's hooked. I'm willing to bet when I get home from work (3:30am), she's still going to be playing. Oblivion all over again.

That said, I may have to go out and buy it once the rental is up, IF I can find it cheap enough or someone willing to trade. But only if the server issue gets fixed.

I am having more problems with this game freezing up than any other I have played to date. Not sure what it is about the game that my 360 doesn't like.

Other than that, I think I might be able to get by the choppy graphics and, at least until now, the horrid voice acting. The underlying game doesn't seem so bad. They really had a good concept going here with trying to overcome Oblivion. Just fell a little short on the technical execusion.

I played for a few hours yesterday and I like it. The framerate issues are a little annoying, but I can get by that. The graphics don't look that bad to me. I only wish I could choose my class in single player story mode. I have not tried it out online yet, I'll try and beat the story mode first.

Well this isn't helping i preordered it. Im going to pick it up soon, but these comments are making me feel worse and worse about this title...

we had a few customers come and bring thier copies back to our store complaining of framerate issues and it just wasn't enjoyable. personally, I was going to wait until the game pricedrops before I consider picking it up.

For those experiencing framerate issues simply clear your hard drive's cache, the difference is incredible.

As far as a patch goes, official word from Southpeak (via emails sent to consumers) is that a patch is in the works as we speak to fix both online latency issues and the general framerate. Hope this doesn't turn into the Darkness where we don't see a patch for months after the games release, but I doubt it will seeing as how this is a new company and being so they obviously want to to everything they can to make their product sell.

I really enjoy the game, you just have to give it some time.

If anyone is regretting their purchase, I'll take it off their hands.

Check My List... I have a sealed wireless controller+Rechargable Battery I'll trade straight up for it. Opened, sealed, whatever, as long as it's complete
Hey sp00ge I'm sure alot of gamestop/eb are getting plenty of used copies, the the 10$ off coupon and pick it up for $45 :).
I'd rather spend as little as possible. I already have 4 wireless controllers, so the one I have is collecting dust. If it comes down to it, then yeah... I'll buy it used. :D
Anyone know if this is available for rent at a retail store (ie Blockbuster) yet? I don't wanna pay $60 for this.
From all the 12 year olds who preorder games they havn't heard anything about and then hate it after playing it for 5 minutes, I'm sure your local gamestop has a few used copies already. You can buy it for 45 used like I mentioned earlier and basically it will act as a 7 day rental. If you don't like it, just return it for a full refund in cash.

If you break it, you can't return the game (unless it's defective).

That's pretty odd. I was under the impression company policy store-wide was 7 day returns(not just exchanges) for used items. Brought back a headset and told them it sucked and got my money back. The policy on the receipt should say games and accessories.
For those experiencing framerate issues simply clear your hard drive's cache, the difference is incredible.
Doesn't that delete all the patches for games you've downloaded too?

Could you link to that coupon?

This game really ticks me off. Especially when riding a horse or trying to teleport and my guy just suddenly walks forward. Another one is when a town gets massacred, you get a quest to deliver something to that town. You either get stuck finding the Resurrection spell(to resurrect the dead person you need to give the stuff to) or trying to get to level 15 Air.

I'm currently renting it from BB.
My local store got two used copies in today. That's insane. It's officially the quickest a game's come back.
Yea, we got a used one as well on Sunday. The dude said it the thought it would have been like Elder Scrolls.

I'm really enjoying the single player. I put in over 12 hours over the weekend. I actually like it better than Oblivion. It's very similar to Morrowind and I think that the so-so voice acting and animations are preferable to the over the top stuff in Oblivion.

My online experiences have been awful so far. It's basically a slideshow with disappearing characters. Note that you can force the game to save when you're online by trading with one of the other players.

I noticed also that you can just drop an item and it will save.

I put in 4 hours last night/this morning after work. We had a good 3 person game going the whole 4 hours, and right when I was getting ready to call it quits for the night, things started getting glitchy. Everything was turning into cubes. Pretty funky stuff.

I also had a glitch problem with my equipment/stats. Somehow, my defense dropped to 0%, making me as fragile as a frickin' kitten. After unequipping everything, it righted itself. :whistle2:k

Yes it does, but those normally only take a minute or less to download (depending on your connection of course).

I thought it was Gamestop/EB's policy to allow you a 7 day trial, you should ask just in case as I'm pretty sure it's company poilcy.
Everything was turning into cubes. Pretty funky stuff.
At one point I was lmao as 3 black cubes were chasing my invisible character and I completely lost it when the gigantic red blood cubes started flying. Its a good thing I had low expectations going in.

Ok... Now I have been a lurker for quite some time now. And everything has been all good. I have been chllin, I listen to your show and I look forward to every episode. But this time you guys have crossed over the line and I don't think you have given A new game a fair shot. Now just because some more popular games happen to be coming out and some huge titles are now hitting the 360 doesn't mean that we should ignore A fantastic Role playing experience such as Two Worlds from Reality pump.

I don't know if either one of you have picked up this game to check it out yet. But I heard something kinda Negative about the game and that tells me that you haven't played it yet. You've just judged the game because so many people compared it to Oblivion.

First of all I thought you guys were Oblivion fans??? Or maybe that's not the CAGs it could be Jamie and Tomie from Gaming Uncensored? Maybe they are the smart ones after all. I don't know.... I've been giving you guys allot of Credit but. Maybe Jamie and Tommie are better suited to the actually review of the games and you guys should just stick to finding cheap prices for us?

Here are my top 5 reasons why people dis Two Worlds and Compare it to Oblivion.

#1 Its got Trees and Land in it and also a guy with a sword and armor just like Oblivion.

?: Yes most games set in a fantasy setting are.

#2 The First person perspective and the 3rd person perspective look just like Oblivion.

?:Of course it does. The more developers try to recreate an environment that's freeform and realistic. Its going to end up having allot of similarities to other games that attempt the same thing. I mean after all we don't say Unreal and Halo 2 are the same game but you do the same thing when you play them. This isn't even a bad thing. Shoot let them take the best parts of our games and make new games. This is what we want them to do... So we have good new games!! Don't get all pissed when it looks little similar. This makes developers think they new a new thing. We know the Oblivion look works. SO LETS USE IT!!

#3 I could just buy my updates for Oblivion and skip two worlds entirely.

?: Let me say this again. Two worlds is a completely Different game and it allot of ways FAR FAR superior to Oblivion. I mean for god same Oblivion had like what 5 sets of armor. I think two worlds has like 98 sets that you can mix and match enchanted and combine to make new better armor.

#4 The graphics suck

?: Two worlds has a very different feel to graphics then Oblivion does and when you play both of the games you'll realize just how different these two fantastic games are. Two worlds adds realism that Oblivion doesn't have a chance at this time around. Oblivion is built around a Central area. No matter where you are in Oblivion you can almost always see the white tower of the capital City. In two worlds you can walk over a mountain range stand on top and view cities dotting the landscape. Rolling hills out before you. Its a much more grand scope and a true RPG player would definitely notice this.

#5 My name is Wombat and I can't afford 60 bucks for Two Worlds.

?: Wombat is broke..

bread's done
