I'm curious if anyone got this, I'd like to read impressions from other CAG and didn't see a thread on it. I never played the first one but I understand it's not very good. I have a friend who's getting this so I planned to rent it and try out the multi-player since we've been looking for a new game to co-op. My expectation are low so I'm hoping to be surprised.

I just picked it up a few hours ago, I enjoyed the first one a good bit, I am getting ready to pop Two Worlds 2 in the 360 right now

been playing since midnight last night.

Loved the first one, sure it had A LOT of stuff wrong but it had this charm to it, that i still to this day cant explain.

The second one: WOW.

I am so impressed with this game, the new engine they have used is very well done. Sure its not your ME2 and Halo engine but this is so impressive stuff comoaired to the first one.

In this game the spell creating and combos are redic. you can literally make hundreds of spells and potions with the new alchemly system.

In the game you have to item manage alot, loot is all over and you have to constantly break it down for parts and mats. Now this is cool because it lets you build on to weapons and what not, but it gets tiring every 20 mins "cleaning/breaking" down your inventory.

The world is HUGE, i have played 6 hours and have only been in 3 towns! haha. So many quests and just so much to do.

THats only the Single player.

Multiplayer has PvP duels and Co-op. Played one duel and got my ass handed, so i jumped into a coop adventure, which from what i can tell there are several adventures and you can join in a lobby or in progress and you rank up your MP character while doing it.

Lastly there is Village Mode, but sadly i haven't got to try this, cause it takes 10,000 aurans to unlock this, but from what i hear you build a village and raise crops, build buildings and you can visit or have people visit your village.

All in all, this game is so damn worth the 60 bucks. If you like 3rd Person action RPG's with tons of customization and lots of LOOT and exploration. GET THIS GAME.
So multi-player and single player require you to use two different characters?
From my understanding yes, because they store your MP character on a server, so no one can hack/edit/tamper with stats and such, worthy trade off I believe.

Yep your right. Two different characters, which is awesome...cause in the SP you can only make a human, online you can make a elf, dwarf and human i believe.

I kind of want to play this now. Never played the first one, but this looks good.

Also is this game on the 360 1 or 2 discs?

i hated 1 but after hearing Shipwrecks glowing review on the CAGcast i ordered it from Amazon.

Should be here 2moro
i love RPG and hope this is up my alley

I'm always looking for a good coop game to burn time with my bro. Is this coop for the whole game or is it some side-story coop experience?

side story coop adventures. (read above) several hours to be had in them tho! :)

I cant wait to hear shipwreck talk about this in the newest cagcast!

Also this game is getting lots of positive talks about it around the internetz. Stoked for that, cause i believed in this project so much. Go Topware and Southpeak!

I see... bummer. I really just want a coop Borderlands but with better RPG depth to it. Fable 3 was an absolute failure... was hoping to get some sort of Fantasy RPG coop experience on the 360 soon.

Yeah it would be nice, but this has its own style and its very fun. Just beat two adventure levels with a buddy. MOnsters do level depending on players level and loot is random. So go through a level to grind out mats to upgrade your fav items then use everything you have made and character in PVP! :)

Just unlocked village mode, will post back when i had some time with it.

Go and get the game CAG's

Just played the Village mode, hmmm pretty neat concept.

Reminds me of White Knight Chronicles, just less SHIT. haha

basically you can only unlock Village mode, once your MP character gets 10,000 aurans. Then you can load the Village mode from the menu. Once in the mode, you run into an advisor and he runs you through a tutorial. From here you can build buildings and increase your towns income and make your villagers happy. its like a sim inside a action RPG. in this you can do quests to make villagers trust/like you more.

Havent tried it yet, but "friends" online can join your village and shop, and find rare items to take back to their village and you can do the same. Pretty neat concept and completely unexpected in this game.

So so far, a huge, lively campaign. PvP duels, co-op adventures, and a SIM *Animal Crossing* Hyrbid village mode. WOW. Two Worlds 2 packs a punch, and im taking a beating. I love it.

I just played 4 hours straight and I AGREE with everything Big St3ph3n said. This game is like no other western RPG release on 360, so much better then Fallout New Vegas. Dare I say its better then Elder Scrolls Oblivion. I also like the fact that you can change your Weapon/Armor presets on the fly (3 at a time, hot keyed to the directional pad).

I NEVER use Archery (range) or Magic (Mage) in RPG's, Im usually always Melee but damn I cant help but to mix up the three here, and I love it.

Very true, having the 3 types of attacks set to weapon sets on the DPAD is awesome. Just make sure for each set you equip all the same or different equipment too.

Also a key tip for people. Go into your interface settings and choose replace icons with text. This will enable you to see what them lil icons mean next to your weapons. Slash defense, bludgeon defense, etc. its way better then them shitty icons lol

Glad your enjoying the game Poor2More

Also GUT, reply back with early impressions. :)

I bought it from Amazon, but used Free Ship so wont be here until next week :\

Yes I loved Two Worlds as well, got all 970 points (at the time it was glitched, the unobtainable Grave or w/e)

Great time to be a RPG fan.

Divinity 2 (the Atlus one, not the one out), Risen, Arcania, Two Worlds 2... hot stuff.

WORD! i love these loot based wester action RPG's.

So the divinity 2 thats out now is different from the one coming here (stateside) in march? And atlus is making it? Thats badass.

The one out now isnt the "revamped" one that doesnt include the expansion. The one Atlus is bringing over is the one that was released in Europe, and includes the expansion, and revamped graphics etc. Atlus didnt make it, they are just helping publish it.

Also, for those who just got this game, all the pre-order codes are not unique.

Anathros Sword. 6770-8976-1634-9490
Axe. 1775-3623-3298-1928
Dragon Armor 4149-3083-9823-6545
Elexorie 3542-3274-8350-6064
Hammer. 6231-1890-4345-5988
Lucienda Sword. 9122-5287-3591-0927
Scroll. 6972-5760-7685-8477

Just hit start during the game and hit enter bonus code.

Wow thanks nnthomas for the info on divinity 2. I loved the one that came out here first, even though it was hard as hell lol. Will def pick up that new one.

Whoknows - def reccomend it for 60 bucks, support these guys for making this badass game.

Here is my character on the game: Note - this is the dragon armor, from the code up above. BEAST!

I played the demo on pc and have to admit it is a pretty sweet game. I love the new counter attack system they put in.

I'm glad people are enjoying this but unfortunately I'll be sending it back to GF. I played for a few hours last night and wasn't enjoying it. Not that it's as bad game but it just wasn't for me.

Played more today, did a cool quest where i had to do a horse race, then make a mafia type guild "know they're place" god i love this game. So damn fun.

I read on gamestop that they have a new multiplayer raid type thing now. How does this whole "raid" multiplayer thing work? is it like wow style raiding? I haven't been able to find any videos or reviews on it at all.

The raid style?

Hmm well. You have up to 8 people in a adventure co-op map, you do a couple missions a map and fight baddies on said map. Depending on peoples levels the monsters go with the combined level. Through out all of this, you can loot enemies and craft weapons/potions etc. Its rather unique how the character will travel through coop, duels, and village mode.

So is it like wow raiding no, not really. But is it fun and ive seen some high level 63 dude that looked 1337 and he was nice and crafter me a pole vault for my toon.

Def give this game a try.

First day I bought this on release date and I thought it was Awesome.......5th day playing it and it still surprises me how great this game is!

Solid 9/10....no questions about it.

Has their been such a game like this that the original was so poorly received critically, but the Sequel is litteraly 10 times more better mechanically, gameplay, graphically, and stability.

Question: How do you play the Dice game? I understand the rules and all but at the end of every round it always says "You won 0 Auras" even when I make the max bet, and the computer never takes a turn....so what am I doing wrong, I never gain or lose Auras, it always says I won 0 Auras

Amen bro, its such a fresh ass game! I have 24 hours in it since release, and im always getting suprised. Might i suggest you finish the Reesa quest storyline as well. I did last night and was laughing my ass off.

I'm renting this game right now, for at least another day. Does anyone want to play online? Knock out some MP cheevos? Send me a FR: Bizarro13

I'm surprised this thread has gone on so long without a negative opinion. Granted about 3/4s of the posts are Big ST3ph3n jocking this "fresh ass game", but still...

I guess I'll be the counterpoint. I put about 10 hours into the game and I think its pretty damn bad. I apologize since the following is long-winded, but I just want to be thorough so it doesn't seem like I'm complaining to complain, I'm also kinda ranting in anger at myself because I bought into the hype.

The general story is intriguing but none of the elements that need to support it succeed. The dialogue is awkward and poorly written, the voice acting is bad (get a load of main character "Clint Eastwood's Polish cousin Steve", or a few of the other VAs trying to cover their european accents), the names of characters/creatures/places sound like something Tim and Eric would make up if they were to write a fantasy novel, and the cutscenes are rather sloppy with some jarring cuts and stiff animations. Speaking of which, the in-game animations aren't a whole lot better... your character has the same handful of over-exaggerated hand motions during dialogue just to give one example. On the plus side, the music is really quite enjoyable, I think it can be a little too epic and grand at times when it really just needs to be ambient exploration music but it is still likable.

The game world looks pretty damn good, but the character models are rough and ugly, and every time the camera changes angles in a cutscene you get to watch all the background details jarringly pop back in. Whoever told someone in the deals section that the game "runs at 60 FPS" was a pretty bad source, the game does run pretty decently while playing but not nearly as smoothly as Arcania or Oblivion, and there is still more slowdown that I would like during combat. While on the topic of worlds and characters, there is a weird sorta divide going on in this game... on one hand the game world has all sorts of diverse and unique landscapes and creatures which really helps breaks up the monotony of forests and trolls, but on the other hand there is no real connection between any of it, its just like a fantasy grab bag. While I'm talking aesthetics, the box art is really crappy and the menus/interface aren't very attractive.

None of the criticisms above probably matter much to the more hardcore gamers who don't care about story or graphics and just want to grind away, but I don't think it even works in that regard. All of the crafting/armor/alchemy stuff is really deep and I can definitely see hardcore gamers enjoying all of the tweaking you can do, but in my opinion there's no point in going through all of that if the combat isn't any good, and it really isn't. The combat is superficial, there is a real lack of "oomph" or effect to your character's over-the-top spins and swordplay... a twirl of the sword does nothing but then a simple jab will deal the same amount of damage to the enemy (not that there's any real input difference: both the mundane and extravagant moves were done just by pressing the attack button). The lack of enemy reaction to your attacks and rather random hit detection tends to ruin any kind of strategy: it does no good to be a long distance magic user because even if you're playing to an enemy's weakness, they'll be un-staggered and up in your grill forcing melee combat soon enough.

I tried to like the first one (who wouldn't be interested in playing more elder scrolls-type games?), and I tried to get my hopes up for this one as well, but I really just cannot approve of it, and I can definitely not suggest it as a $60 purchase. Granted, there are some folks who enjoyed the first one so they'll probably enjoy this as well (though I'll be puzzled as to how), but I think your time is probably better spent replaying another RPG you know you enjoy.

Good counterpoint sir.

Just boggles me that soemone has spent ten hours in a game they hate?

Sure ive been posting alot about this game, cause i am loving the hell out of it...I dont need a game to be flashy, AAA and the best of everything. I love this game for its faults, i dont take it seriously...they didnt try to make this game to be serious.

I now have 26 hours in the game and im still in chapter one era of the story, and loving every second of it.

A few tidbits about your view:

This game runs a shit ton better then Arcania, that game looked and ran like garbage. Still love it tho lol.

I find the combat really good when you fine tune your character to be what you want to be. Most people spec randomly in all areas, but if you spec to be a warrior then you will rule and the combat is very fun and fluent.

Thanks for the post! :)

Its a catch 22, if I threw down the controller and declared it crap at hour one, I would be told I didn't play it enough. I try to give everything a fair shake, and since I'm a sucker for the thrill of exploration I wanted to at least take in the world before selling it off.

I love this game for its faults, i dont take it seriously...they didnt try to make this game to be serious.

I understand that Reality Pump doesn't take the game too seriously to an extent (there's a few nod-and-winks and other bits of humor in the game), but I think that justification only goes so far before it becomes an excuse... to say the whole story was just a silly joke would leave you with alot of explaining to do in my opinion. More importantly, I think you sorta HAVE TO take yourself seriously in regard to production values, "haha let's make this animation really jerky, it'll be a riot!"

EDIT: I'd also be curious to know if you guys are encountering any strange glitches on your particular system. I'm playing it on PS3 and I keep coming across a few audio issues: dialogue cutting out right before it ends, sounds not playing, and the music ducking incorrectly during dialogue. Also my character jumps all the way to the end of the screen for a nano-second before he goes into stealth mode. I left this out of my critique because I figured the PS3 may have got a cruddy port (as it sometimes does), but it should probably still be noted.

Hey guys. No thread on the PS3 board, so I am new here. I am considering getting this for $20 with the Kmart deal. I have seen and heard about both the good and bad to this game, and I hear it get compared to Oblivion a lot, so I would assume it is also similar to Fallout 3/New Vegas? If so, is this game as glitchy as those? Better looking graphically at all? I thought Fallout was rather bland. Thanks guys.

I hate when people compare this to Oblivion. In no way do they compare to one another.

Graphically it is not better then either of those games! for 20 bucks, people shouldnt even second guess this game, but i guess this does have some glitchiness to it so says this dude above.

I say get it at 20 man, thats a no brainer. As you can see from my posts above, ive told my experience with it and some of the gameplay variants. :)

A question for anyone who has both played this and sacred 2 on the 360. How are the servers for two worlds 2 compared to sacred 2? I loved sacred but the servers for coop really fucked it all up for me. So any answers will help me out with my decision to get this.

Thanks for your opinions on it, but I never said the game was glitchy. I have read that it is and I dont want to play a game that has a glitch so often that you need to worry about saving every 5 seconds a la New Vegas. Thanks again. And yes, for $20, the gameplay value is steep.

I took the game back. I really couldn't get into it with the limited time period I had from Redbox. I'll wait for Gamefly. Some elements of the game I found really frustrating. There seemed to be a difficulty spike in the single player getting into the first town. Yikes!

What did the video highlight the intro tutorial mission?

ONce you beat that tutorial mission the game opens up so big its crazy. I dont understand what the video did except show people the tutorial, and yes by seeing the game you see its not the best looking game but people can see it looks way better then the first. :) thanks.

@mike.m yeah the difficulty spikes are scattered around the world. I like that tho, knowing that you cant just go into a cave with out leveling first. So that forces you to play some of the games side quests, which in my opinion is where this game shines the most. I havent laughed that hard at a game in a lonnnng time.

Last night i finally made it to chapter 2 in new ashos (19 hrs in for me). I still dont want to play main story, i wanna continue these hillarious side missions. last night i prayed with this lady over her late husbands body and he turned into a zombie and she wanted to feed me to him. Loved it.

fallout 3 had difficulty spikes too. u couldnt just run into certain areas without being at a high enough level

plus I love when i can read a negetive review because it shows the bad things other may not see or mention....but when u mention the cover art it kind of destroys any credibility imo.

i am totally on the fence. i watched some videos and read a review from ripten (PC Review) and it is totally pushing me to buy. i just hate taking a chance on a game since they are expensive. im trying to see if the kmart $40 deal is still good cause it was listed as 1-30

question - at 19 hours and chapter 2, what level are you at? is there a level cap and if so do u know what it is? how long/hard is it to level up

for me, stories dont matter much. voice acting and player models are pretty irrelivent although it would be nice if they were decent. Dragon Age didnt look all that hot either and look how awesome that was. the crafting and depth of the charecter building is what intrigues me...that and the super huge world i keep reading about. I love to level up, explore, loot and craft....good combat is a must too.
I want to role as a mage....is it worthy?

If you're on the fence about the price just wait for the price to plummet. It's not like it took the first game long to become cheap. If you're looking for a western style action oriented RPG that's also flawed to play while you wait, pick up Gothic 4, Risen, Divinity 2, Sacred 2, and so on. This and Venetica will likely be much cheaper in the near future.

problem is i need something now to hold me over until the show and dragon age 2 comes out in march. i dont mind spending the $40 if its worth playing.

sounds like hours of doing what i enjoy most in an rpg
