Brief excerpt:

Harper's Magazine said:
On October 6, 1976 seventy-three people were killed when terrorists blew up Cubana Flight 455, which was on its way from Barbados to Cuba. Thirty years later, on September 11, 2006, Luis Posada Carriles, one of the men who allegedly carried out the attack, was sitting in a Texas prison when a federal judge in El Paso, Texas, ordered him released from detention. If a U.S. district court upholds the ruling, Posada could be on the street within a few weeks.

yeah, yeah. Why don't you pick up on some more recent "double standards" that actually are relevent to todays 'war on terror'?

Such as the terrorist acts in Turkey comitted by Iraqi Kurds that we're allowing to happen wthout letting the Turks retalliate. Get with the program and find out what's happening now instead of comparing current terrorst policy to something that happened over 30 years ago.

Are you a practicing bush hater or do you just play one on the interweb ?

I'm sure the friends and families of the people killed by that man would love to hear your sentiments. Now go watch Fox News and be quiet.

It's like you kids are role-playing Hannity and Colmes.

Maklershed needs to be more deferential and say things like "yeah, I hate it when liberals do things like that, too."
I'm sure you believe that the US and our millitary are the real terrorists.
Yes that's exactly what I believe. The United States and our military are terrorists because I'm a pot smoking hippy liberal with a flower in my hair . I thought you Republicans are so gung-ho about the "War on Terror" (how we fight a tactic I dont know). I think it's a legitimate question as to why this man gets a pass. Why shouldn't we be concerned he may strike again or may be a master mind of a terrorist group?

Maybe you should put down that joint and read the court transcripts so you can make a more educated analysis, hippie. Or at least read mor than a wiki page about the subject.

You crazy neo-cons never cease to amaze and delight. I'm forever entertained. People like yourself, Katherine Harris, and Pat Robertson are the reason I listen to Bill O'Reilly and watch Fox News from time to time. By the way, you should probably make sure the candles over there at your alter dont get too close to that picture of Bush .. the last thing we need is for your computer to burn .. this forum wouldnt be as entertaining.

Anyone care to comment on the article itself?

Ok, I'll call your bluff here. Tell me what the court transcripts say.

And for the record, I wouldnt call myself a liberal. I'd call myself a recently jaded hard center moderate (hell, I even voted for Bush in 2000) that gets pushed further and further left every day with each article I read and each news report I hear on tv. Also, I dont get my information from wikipedia. Just various articles from trusted news sites on the internet, newspapers, and tv. I'm sorry I dont have access or time to read first hand sources of information. (how would you have even gotten your hands on the court transcripts of this case anyway?)
So, what does "moderate" mean exactly, you swing both ways when the wind blows?

"Hard center moderate" is an oxymoron.
A) You dodged my question about what's in the court documents

B) Moderate means I go with what I feel is right whether that mirrors a conservative view or a liberal view. I dont pledge allegiance to one single person or group and their beliefs and actions.

C) Hard center moderate would be an oxymoron if you could only be left, center, or right. I think it's quite appropriate to desribe oneself in certain degrees of political position as it's on a sliding scale. You can be right or you can be far right (Ann Coulter). You can be moderate or you can be a moderate that leans left. Etc.

That's your problem right there. You go with what you "feel" is right at any given moment, and not what you THINK is right. I don't pledge any allegiances to anyone either, save myself, but that makes me far from moderate.

 semantics
 semantics
shhh. Let him think that he puts more effort into his opinions, and we won't point out that, in the thread regarding the effect of poverty on cognitive development, he responded to every claim made about how poor people live in *gasp* poor conditions with some unsubstantiated claim about how poor people make poor decisions.

In other words, gut feelings.

So, let him live in his fantasy world where he is keenly aware of all the facts. There's a seat open next to Bill O'Reilly, I do believe.

Maybe that fantasy world is where they're hiding those court documents he hasn't posted.
