CAGiversary!
So recently I'll be on my computer when all of a sudden multiple browser windows open to the same site that has a 'Page Cannot Be Displayed' and I think they all try to launch pop-ups because the browsers keep saying pop-ups are being blocked. Now after a coouple of minutes of me trying everything from closing the group to Ctrl-alt-delete and it not working it iwll be stopped by Windows for osme reason. Now I followed this to the root folder saw that there was a folder that didn't belong. So I attemped to delete it and managed to get everything except 3 files, 2 of which are executables. I get this message (sorry for the bluriness):

Any ways of getting around that to delete these files. It's not catching in Norton or my spyware detectors so I can't do it through that. Thanks for any help.

Try any adware and spyware scan programs you can find. Spybot, Ad-Aware, Microsoft Antispyware, Spysweeper, etc. After that, run an antivirus scan.

Thats wasy. First turn off all programs and processes and try to delte. If it wont work just boot up in safe mode, that always works.

look up online a program called "about killer" or something along those lines
what you have isnt a virus per say it is a very very very annoying spyware program that probably also changed all your favorites and homepage.....
look around online youll find the answer i had this problem a very months ago whil at work, took me ages to get rid of it before finding an faq online that walked me thru it.
good luck
if none of that works.... reformat.
sorry, but it's really lame when strangers tell other strangers to reformat. there's usually a way to fix these things without taking such a drastic step.

Well, I mean odds are he can at least burn to disc all of his essential files. And godwilling he has an MP3 player or something to store all of the secondary files. Reformatting isn't that big a deal. Sure it can be a bit frustrating to re-setup a computer, but it is only a minor inconvenience.

That FAQ woulda been a godsend for me 2 months ago when I got that starpage.dll/about.html bug. Annoying as hell, since it changes its name randomly A LOT, so it can be hard to discern what to delete. My computer became un-usable, and I was almost to the point of reformatting. Luckily someone at geekstogo.com forums walked me through with the HijackThis logs.

So you might want to download the program "HijackThis", scan and save the log and post it on there, or another forum for HijackThis logs. Good luck
