I heard this same shit when Resident Evil 4 was unveiled. People bitched when it wasn't like the traditional RE games, how it wasn't true to its roots, it was going to suck, how can they mess it up, and now it's one of the most critically acclaimed games out there, and one of the best RE games ever in many people's eyes.
Gamers all over the internet slammed the DS when it was unveiled, now they love it.
They slammed the Wii, it ends up being awesome.
Zelda will never be as good in 3D, they said.
Metroid as an FPS? That will

ing suck!!
The point is, without ever us trying it and playing it for ourselves, and just reading what some guy has to say about it, well, maybe we should wait and try the finished product first? As long as it's a fun game I don't really care. I'd rather Capcom moves away from the traditional RE game, because the last game like that we got was RE 0 which was very forgettable, and no way Capcom is going to come close to RE 4 so why even try? The first thing people will say is "This isn't as good as RE 4" and straight up dismiss it.
Let's just wait until we have it in our hands to make judgment calls.
Like it was said above, it seems more and more gamers are getting pretty jaded with games in general. If we all followed popular opinion of things when they were unveiled and still being worked on, the DS + Wii would have sucked, every 3D Zelda would be garbage, and Metroid Prime would be shit. But hey, look, the opposite is true because COMPANIES TRIED NEW THINGS!
I think one of the major problems that some people have (besides the Wii owners want easy games comment) is that they want another Resident Evil 4 style game, since RE4 was so good and no other company has released their own RE4 style game (and who knows when RE5 will come out). I know I would rather see UC as RE4 style game, but I was pretty impressed with the UC trailer, so I'm willing to try it if the reviews are good.
