I thought it might be helpful to keep a monthly list of games whose prices have dropped at all (or most) stores.
You can post in this thread, and myself and the Cheap Ass Moderators can update this original post. Last month's list

December 2004
Get On Da Mic Bundle (PS2) $40
Demon Stone (PS2, Xbox) $30
Silent Hill 4 (PS2) $30

I have a friend who has a high up position at my local eb, he says that MGS 3 will drop to 29.99 after the holidays.

Doubt it, sales are super good. I love the Snake vs Monkey part.... classic

MGS2 sold amazingly well and was cheap within 6 months. I think it only took maybe 8 months to drop to $20, if that.

The price dropped when Metal Gear Substance was announced.
Does anyone know if Mario Kart: Double Dash will drop before christmas?
Right now it's $29.99 PreOwned at GameStop.com! Still $50 for a new one though... I wonder if the PO price will go back up, because Ninja Gaiden briefly dropped to that price before going right back up again.
MGS:TS I believe is now at the $30 pricepoint, down $10. I've seen this at three different retailers. Can anyone confirm else this?
This appears to be correct. However, since the original MSRP was $39.99, and it's been out for over six months, it is well overdue.

I picked up Mario Kart: Double Dash in the new holiday bundle. I have been jonsin' to get a Cube for quite a while and almost gave in when the Metroid Bundle came out. Boy am I glad I waited!

Nintendo came up with a great bundle this year! Others should take their cue and bundle a hot game (MK:DD is still @ $50) with their systems. The extra controller didnt hurt either. I am a happy camper.

...i seemed to have missed the game that you posted that had a price drop....
Half-Life 2 down to $49.99?
I've seen that price at Costco and Amazon.com
Still $54.99 at CC.

I don't know if anyone cares, but I noticed Uru: Ages Beyond Myst Complete Chronicles is $20 at EB and Gamestop.

A great adventure game, plus there is also a patch to allow users to connect to free servers and roam the world which was intended for online play.

yes it would be... especially if i hadn't bought it already :( I'm barely even playing it too!

Target had HL2 for either 44.99 or 45.99.. I know it's a sale, but doesn't CC PM and a certain percentage or something.. someone could get it for under 40. I know it's not a price drop, but I'm just adding to the HL2 that was being said a few posts ago.

well, you would have had it coming, considering there is an inevitable "Substance" release coming soon.

Kojima is a freaking DOG when it comes to that kind of exploitation. i get the impression that he looks at Koei with it's Dynasty Warriors empire and it brings a tear to his eye... he only wishes he could be half as successful as they are in squeezing blood from a stone.

as it stands, Snake Eater is looking like a flop, saleswise, because fans were either turned off by the last one, or wised up and decided to wait for the inevitable updated version with 593 extra missions.
Wal-Mart has Outrun 2 for $19.99. Don't know if it's an actual price drop or a sale.
Huge YMMV or Misprice on this one.

I don't know if it's a YMMV, but it seems to be chain-wide, from another thread here. I do know that it was a price drop initiated from corporate HQ. It may only be for Christmas, though, as per the reports that WM was going to be dropping some prices to spur sales.

All I know is it's going to get bought :)

Just got back, and one of my walmarts had it for 19.82. The other had it for 39.82...so YMMV.

Outrun 2 btw.
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life for the Cube is also starting to drop to $19.99, I've noticed it at B&Ms for Target and GameStop.
I think it's a Player's Choice game now.
Need for Speed Underground is down to $19.99 everywhere
Yeah, for a while now.

I'm pretty sure I saw Outrun 2 for $20 at CompUSA but who knows. I wish I some way to jot notes down and access the internet while in stores so I could keep track of what games to buy where.

Or the really cheap approach of just keeping a printout of your library listing in the car or your backpack. I use teeny tiny print and multiple columns to keep the page count minimized.

Keeping a library database may seem like geek extremity but it becomes a must once your library exceeds your memory.

My games are like my children, I never forget them no matter how many there are. :p

Anyway, I've noticed recently that Sudeki has dropped to $20. Don't know when this happened exactly, but I've sorta been keeping an eye on it. It was $30 for a while there.

Oh, and it looks like it's $20 @ ebgames.com w/ the soundtrack - bonus! :)
