Universal Remote - Too Universal?

Well, while changing the song on my 360, I realized that the remote that came with my HD-DVD drive also works on my laptop. :lol: It sort of scared me for a minute before I realized it. I can use all the functions of the remote to control my laptop. Weird. Makes me wonder what else the remote works for? *Runs off to start turning off random TVs and other IR devices*

BTW- I have an HP Pavillion DV9000 for anyone else who wants to try.

The 360 responds to the same signals as a media center remote... so long as they're in the same IR range any PC running Media Center (with an IR receiver, which I'd guess is built into your laptop) and the Xbox will respond to the same commands...

I know I read it somewhere on here before but cant find it and I did a quick google check to no avail, how can disable the sensor on my laptop?
