the magical coupon:

http://www.geocities.com/irc_email/coupon/

There is a thread about this coupon:

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40350&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

. . . basically you get an extra $10 off any pair of games priced under $19.99. Many games will be free . . . and the coupon appears to combine with other discounts. I've used inkjet printouts on standard paper . . . no problem.

oh... thank u so much.. =)
i have one more question..
whut size is legural coupon?
ur pic too bic.. so .. thanks again!!
and coupon said combine with other discounts?
i cant see...

TRU 1:
Fatal Frame (Xbox) - $12.48
Eternal Darkness (Cube) - $10.48
Pokemon Stadium (N64) - $5.99

TRU 2:
Xbox screens -$44.98 (would have picked one up but I got a PS1 screen at TRU 1 instead for $22.98)
Gamecube batteries - $10.98

I stopped at the Onalaska, WI TRU today and they have True Crime (Player's Choice Gamecube version) green tagged at $12.99. After 70% off it came to a little under $4.00. They had about 5 copies left.
Only other green tag games they had were single copies of:
Gunmetal xbox $39.99
Midway Arcade Treasures 1 xbox $19.99
NHL 2k2 dc $19.99

The store has only been open about 2 months so I guess the crap hasn't started piling up yet.

Thanks to that Word document and a price scanner, I got the following prices from the Tucker, GA location:

Wild Arms 3- $8
I would be interested in a copy of Wild Arms 3 if I didn't miss you going back to TRU. I sent you a PM to see if we could work something out :)
Got your PM albeit too late... gone when I went today...
Q - any tips on how i can avoid being rejected on using the coupon?
I'll use my story/haul to give you an idea...

I went today and my TRU was picked nearly clean... I ended up getting Outlaw Golf 2, Baldurs: DA, Chaos Legion, Arc the Lad, BG&E, and R Racing Evolution (all for PS2)... I head to the ringer and she says $68... I say 'oh wait I have this coupon I got in an email from TRU' and she says I couldn't use it because the coupon was too similar to the REAL deal in place, but I say 'use your math: would YOU pay $30 for two games that ring up together as only $18?' She still denies it until I politely (keyword) ask for a manager... he comes over and tries to enter the SKU in and FINALLY overrides it into the system... so I end up paying $31 in total for all 6; Outlaw Golf 2 for $12 as the highest, R Racing Evolution at 89 cents as the lowest. Arc the Lad also came up for just a buck 57... I'm going to a fdifferent TRU Fri so they may have more in stock...

what did fatal frame 2 for ps2 ring up at your TRU? it was 14.98 and got it for 9.60...is that a good price? i was expecting another $5 off, but the manager did an override...worth it to keep or return for something else? thanks

It was 17 something at mine. I think I wound up paying about 9 due to combining it with a really cheap game. I don't see how you would get another 5 off because you only get 10 off the pair. It's a great game I'd say it's worth keeping.

i actually combined fatal frame 2 (14.98 eventually for 9.60) and intellivision lives (15.99 eventually for 10.40) The reciept is weird i got 5.57 off the intellivision and 5.38 off the fatal frame 2...but on the two 19.99 games i got 10.04 and 9.90 off...did anyone else have this problem? it seems like a should've gotten more off the 14.98 and 15.99 games

so for this deal...any 2 games under 19.99, should add up to $30, right? and then with the $10 coupon you get another $10 off...so if this is the deal, i think my 14.98 fatal frame 2 and 15.99 intellivision should've gotten $10 off each game...if i'm correct

No Problem I'll probably end up getting it soon from EBgames though I'd give it a try just incase I could get a new copy instead of used :)

OMG that was an awesome deal, keep and play it! The Xbox version is still 50 bucks at TRU.

My ToysRus was hording some N64 goodies in the Back.

Conker's Bad Fur Day
Madden 99
Madden 2000
Pokemon Stadium
Pokemon Puzzle League
Resident Evil 2

After the 70% off they were about 1.50-6.00 each

They also had a few New Game Boy Pocket Systems 49.99 then 70% off = 15.00
I know some people would question why buy and old black and white system, but how often can you buy an old system like that NEW!

Yeah, I saw a few copies of Perfect Dark (and one more title, I believe) at the local TRU. I certainly have no need for it, but I have this odd feeling that someone else might. I'm considering a trip back before the new year, but how much does it cost to ship N64 boxes anyway? They probably don't fit in a standard Media Mail package, right? Just a thought.

I could never get the posted coupon down to the right size.

Didn't stop me from buying UFC: Throwdown (GC) and Timesplitters 2 (XB) for $6 each, though.

are they starting to pull the green tags? games that were listed as clearance here either had no sticker or the remnants of a green sticker and i've tried 4 TRUs!

I pickup very very RARE copy "SKY GUNNER (PS2)$15 along with Eternal of Darkness (GC) $10 - $10 off coupon = $17.XX after taxes :)

Sky Gunner is worth $50 itself on ebay cuz is OUT OF PRINT right !!

Not to rain on your parade, but Skygunner goes for about $9-$24 on ebay depending on condition. It's not that super hard to find either. Good game though.

I just picked up Sword of Mana at TRU for $5.98. They had about 10 slips with barcodes on them with a price of 34.99, but when I scanned it, it rang up as 5.98. Sweet deal.

Also, the slips for Castlevania Aria of Sorrow were all gone, but when I looked into the back room where they stock all of their games, I saw a lone copy. Does anyone know how much AOS is ringing up as?

Fatal Frame II by me (NJ) was listed through the scanner at $24.xx at the TRU in Union City. Not cheap enough IMHO and I didn't see one in the glass. Unfortunately, not much there of interest to me as I got in the the earlier CC and KB deals.

I jsut got 6 copies of la pucelie tactics with the 10$ coupon, so I paid 30$ total, keep them all sealed for value in the future

I had my employee discount also, so i get 80% off of games :)

It varies from store to store how much games on clearance go for depending on how well it's selling at that store. Have them check the price on it for you if they don't have any tickets out for it for you to use for a price check. It could be marked down & ready to go out in a clamshell possibly I know afew times they pulled the tickets for a game at my TRU & took their sweet old time putting the game out on the floor :)

I know this thread is for clearance but last night I just found out that Midway Arcade Treasures 1 with the new label for X-Box is green tagged too. I didn't know if this has been posted yet.

I hope it's the Xbox version?...[-o
Querjek: which xbox screens are green tagged, all mine still have reg tags on them
They're from the brand "Intec". I was surprised to see those screens on sale but no screens from other systems on sale.

Yesterday in PGH, PA I picked up:

Tenchu XBOX (3 Copies)
Mafia XBOX (2 Copies)
Bloodrayne XBOX ( 1 Copy)
Manhunt Strategy Guide (3 Copies .01 each)

All for $19.16 with the coupon

The extra copies are for some friends, I'm not a game hoarding whore.
This is a great deal. Originally (when they first came out) all that stuff would have cost $345 ($50 per game and $15 per guide). That's a helluva deal.

YMMV . . . was it the original packaging? I got Namco Museum for Xbox for free (green tag) but it was not PH package . . . the PH ones are more

No, that's the strange thing about it. This is Midway's Arcade Treasures 1 repackaged to look more like the box art on Arcade Treasures 2 (still not a Platinum Hits title though). The re-issue with altered packaging came out only a month or two ago, so I'm actually surprised to see it being clearanced so soon. My copy came to $6.48 before discount, a dollar and change afterward.

I picked up a copy of this PH at my store during the b2g1f back in October & it was in the typical soft plactic purple deal & would have been free with "The Coupon" if it was still around :D It was the only copy I found in my TRU with Purple casing on it. I think you were just lucky to find one still around that wasen't PH & green tagged :)

I went to the Clackamas TRU store (Portland, OR) tonight. Here's what stood out:

PS2:
XIII (5 copies) - $5.48
Devil May Cry GH (several copies) - $8.48
Resident Evil Code: Veronica X GH (6 copies) - $6.98
Soul Calibur II non-GH (2 copies) - $12.98
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance GH (several copies) - $12.98

I also saw a price tag for Hitman 2 for $10.98, but they didn't have any copies left.

As for green tag items, the only one that really stood out was Eternal Darkness for $34.98 before discount. There were 3 copies left. The rest were mostly Playstation and PS2 sports games, N64 and Playstation wrestling games, Dreamcast sports games, third party accessories for various systems, and that Powerpuff Girls N64 game that was marked at $39.99 before discount.

I also went to the Clackamas store (this afternoon). I managed to get Baldur's Gate and Powerpuff Girls Relish Rampage for Gamecube for $10.98 each, before the $10 coupon. So, about $12 total for the two. Those two games are not marked with any discount. I had them price check the Powerpuff game just a few days ago at this store and it was $14.98.

Also, had no problem with a printout of the $10 coupon there. However, yesterday at the other Tors R Us around here (Tigard I think), the young dufus in the games department told me it would be fine at first. So I did a bunch of price checking, and was going to pick up the Baldur's Gate and an XBOX Pac-Man World (which was green tagged and would have been $3 - I don't even have an XBOX - there were tons there if anyone is interested). When I went to checkout he disappeared in the back with the coupon for 5 minutes and came out with his manager who said they couldn't accept it because it was a "photocopy". I tried the "Someone gave it to me and said it was from the website" line so she went back and another 5 minutes later said she couldn't find it on the web site. So I finally had to walk out empty-handed. I was a little pissed because I was with my very antsy 4 year-old and wasted a ton of time pricing games *after* the guy first told me the coupon was OK. He could have saved us both a lot of trouble by checking with the manager first (for some reason he took each game I wanted to price out of the plastic case instead of scanning it through the case like the did at the other store today).

SO, anyway, if you want Pac-Man World 2 for XBOX for $3 but don't want to use the coupon, go to Tigard. The Clackamas store, as someone said above is useless for clearance games, but does have some unmarked deals, and does accept the coupon.

I also checked Sword of Mana at both stores since everyone here seems to be finding it cheap. It was $18.98 at Clackamas and like $34 at the other one. Doh!

Has anyone gone to the one closing soon in Lloyd Center? Do they have any deals there?

Does anyone know if Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II (XB), is on sale? The last time I checked was a few weeks ago, it was still $29.99...:(

got to TRU ten minutes before they closed, and didnt see anything of interest - there was a mom & dad there w/their 8 year old (couldnt have been more than 8) who were buying metroid prime and super monkey ball as a part of the 2 for $30 deal...gave the guy the coupon, and he said "the sign by the 2 for $30 deal says you dont need a coupon" - true i said, but that this coupon would save him another $10, and that i had already checked with the CSR earlier if it was ok - long story short, he was THRILLED, as was his 8 son that they got both for $20....he offered me the $10 that he saved, but i told him to give it to the red cross - which he said he would..

just wanted to say thanks to CAG, and to whomever posted the coupons here...you made a family's day, and helped send some $$ off for a good cause :D
