Update on 2nd shipment yet?

Anyone know of any updates of second shipment. Seems to be alot of different stories out there. Some people say early next week like microsoft claims for weekly shipments. And other say right before christmas or right after new year.
 
When I was still working at GameStop, I was instructed to tell people that the second shipment wouldn't arrive until at least after Christmas. Whether that's true or simply conjecture meant to frighten people into pre-ordering is for you to decide.
 
From what I've heard, theres not going to be one big shipment coming in before Christmas, theres going to be a slow trickle of systems coming in, every week.

This is what I hear too.
 
I heard that too and I think its fairly true. I walked into my EB yesterday and they had 3 premiums and 1 core just sitting there.
 
I was told by an EBgames employee, that the 360 would not arrive back until May, at the earliest. I hope he's wrong, because I really need to get a 360 before Elder Scrolls
 
And you didn't buy them all to put on EBAY!?!?!?!?! NOOB! :roll: :lol:


They could have been preorders that hadn't been picked up yet though.

There is buzz in my town that stores all over (my town) are recieving and have recieved second shipments today. I don't know the numbers, though.

My GameCrazy didn't recieve any yet... but they're the one who told me about this.

The word from my GameCrazy manager was that a Microsoft rep. said that stores will recieve a bulked shipment around the second week of December -- enough to supply preorders and some walk-ins.

Take that for what it is, though. Hearsay.

However, from a business standpoint, Microsoft would want to shoot for large shipments before Christmas.
 
Do you think it would be best to wait for a possible after-new-years price drop, or to buy it before christmas? reason being that I only want the 360 for Oblivion, so if its going to be cheaper right before Oblivion comes out, Ill buy it then

I doubt we see any price drop until another next-gen system comes out. And if the next one coming out is the PS3 and its priced higher than 360, there probably won't be a price drop then either.

There's not going to be a price drop that fast.
 
I went into Gamestop the other day to cancel my preorder for COD2 and overheard the following conversation. Gamestop employee (GE): "This woman is calling to find out when her pre-order will be coming in." Gamestop manager (GM): "What number is she?" GE: "#7". GM looks at computer- looks visibly unhappy. GM: "Tell her probably the 3rd week in December." GE: "Are you sure." GM: "Yes, we don't lie." Take it for what it's worth.

Gamestop Employee: Hey man, did you know if your pre-order Mario Kart Double Dash you get the full version of Mario Kart 64 on a Gamecube disc?
Me: Really, I never heard about that?
GE: Yep.
 
You know what, this should bother me since I pre-ordered in May but I really don't care that much.

If you want one, youd call and check in store every other day, ask salesmens/get to know them.
 
according to my sams club invoice, they will be shipping to customers on december 15. so i'd say there will be a slow trickle until the second week in december. then a major shipment will come in.
 
Yeah I would expect them to ship more by Christmas. I have been checking my Walmart every other day and was told that maybe the first week of Dec, but I can't beileve a Walmart employee now can I. :D
 
Goin to give most of the local stores a call tomorrow (bb, cc, sam's, bj's, walmart) and see if they have anything if not then I'll just keep trying until christmas someone has to crack soon.
 
The easiest way to find out when the shipments are coming would be to find out how the distribution channels work --

do stores receive a normal Tuesday delivery via consolidation or a drop ship from the origin company.

UPS and Fedex might lead to some speculation, 10 360's heading to gamestop on Monday or Tuesday would be out of the normal size for one of the small package carriers.
