Well It worked for me TWICE now at both Best Buy and at Fry's...SO... I guess I just got lucky !?!

That said, I would bet money I could do it again today ! So maybe it is just YMMV !!

For the record though, I really did have no problem getting it handled. So why discourage other Cag's from trying ?? Worst they can say is NO, eh ?

P.S. I didn't know anyone was 'preaching' around here. I am not trying to 'convert' anyone, just assuring people of my own success and letting know that it can and has worked just fine at two seperate retailers. So take it for what it is worth. I was ONLY trying to help my fellow CAG'rs with my own PERSONAL experience on pricematching the Circuit City ad ! I don't have time to argue with a forum moderator so I am done ! Goodbye.

LOL... Yeah, the games you want to Price Match do have to be actually pictured ! Not like you can go in and bring out a CAG printout showing the games that are included in the 'HUNDREDS OF TITLES TO CHOOSE FROM' verbage ! lol.. Like they would ever believe us !? NOT !:)

Mine usually get cleaned out quick it seems. I've yet to check, but would fucking love to get a copy of Phantasy Star Universe. If someone could pick it up if they find it, would 13 bucks be fair? If so, shoot me a PM!

I went back by today to pick up the last copy of Yakuza for a friend, and ended up grabbing Sonic Advance/Sonic Pinball Party for myself. Been looking for it cheap for a while. :)

The store I work at doesn't price match (not a games or electronics store) but you wouldn't believe the idiots that come in and complain about prices. The worst was when someone complained our sodas were 59 cents each and a store 45 minutes away was 50 cents for the same item. Someone else complained we were a penny more than another store on an item. I wish I was making this up but it really happened.
 
I was there on Sunday morning and they were pretty cleared out then too. I found a couple of things, but nothing that I really wanted.
A girl at the Union CC near the Galleria said some guy came in on Saturday and spent about $500 on stuff. Bastard.

Picked up Magical Starsign and Lunar Knights today for 8.96 each. CC had accidently put a 8.96 price sticker on Lunar Knights so the girl at the register changed the price.

I passed on a copy early Sunday and ended up stopping back a bit later after lunch to pick it up and the copy from that morning was already gone. Still kicking myself! :cry:

Well, for one, the mark-up on so many items today is so high that, even with sale prices, stores are still making some money on them. At the very worst, they might break even or lose out on a few pennies. But retail companies work under the assumption that, if they get you into their store, you will likely buy something other than the one item you were looking for. So, yeah, they might lose a few bucks price-matching a game, but hopefully, you will also buy another game, controller, whatever. In that case, that is a sale they would have lost by not price matching.
 
I just got back from the Circuit City in Culver City. Surprisingly, there were still good games to be had, especially on the regular game racks.

Lots of stuff still in cases that didn't have updated pricing. So don't give up hope - make a printout of the list of games and check through the game racks. Lots of overlooked stuff. And ask the managers or department CSRs to check in the back for any more clearance games.

I'm updating the trade topic with what I have available for trade.

In my experience, CC stores don't have a "back" when it comes to games (or movies or music). Every time I've asked, it's either on the floor or go home. Sometimes they keep hot new releases at the customer service desk; doesn't apply here. With new releases, it's possible they may have just received a shipment that they haven't unpacked so it's still in the back; doesn't apply here. But good luck.

Hmmm, I've had dudes in the game section "go in the back" and bring back stuff I've asked for, at least a couple of times. Once was for one of the Castlevania games when it was advertised really cheap - went in on that Sunday at opening, they didn't have any out, and the guy went and came back with a stack after a couple of minutes. Think it was PoR (the second one...)
 
I went back to purchase the FF Chocobo Tales I was denied yesterday. Luckily for me the game was still there and everything in the store was working fine today. The game rang up $8.96 better yet CC had exceptional customer service today there was a long line at checkout so I asked one of the employees at the other registers if I could check out there he called over another employee to take my order I was out of the store in minutes.:)
 
OP I can confirm that "NDS Mario & Luigi Partners in Time" is 16.96 I think somebody made a mistake when they first mentioned it being 8.96 as I noticed somebody else mentioning that it was 16.96 for them in the trading thread for this clearance.

Sorry if this has been mentioned as I haven't been following/reading every post in this thread.

went to the one in n dallas on 75, there were 2 large cheap green cardboard bins in the game section...lots of games thrown in there, some part of the markdown but a lot of regular-priced new ones in there too. while digging thru them i noticed that (since the bins are just cardboard) there was space on the sides where quite a number of games had slipped into the cracks. It was whilst digging down in these cracks that i found gold: Rocket Slime and Elite Beat Agents (which i bought), and i saw also copies of Phoenix Wright, 2 Chocobo Tales, and a Magical Starsign.

anyways, depending on your cc, just remember to check the cracks. :cool:
 
Has anyone had experience at any CC where there has been restocking? Just wondering if my local stores are worth revisiting.

CC has an ongoing clearance with new items beginning at 16.96 and then dropping to 12.96, 8.96, etc. CC just advertised the clearance and the fact that they had "100s" of 8.96 games. They also did a drop to coincide with the sale. They usually drop on Fridays, but not every friday.

Okami at the CC in Hollywood/Sunset. Really nice associate look in the back and found the last copy. But it rang up as $16.96. I thought this was suppose to be $8.96?

Just Cause ($15 cool games label), think some people were looking for that title. Did not ask for a price check.

Well... It didn't necessarily fall out of the store's stock. Someone could have had it in their pocket and dropped it.
