If you aren't planning to play Crysis you could save a bunch of money and just go with Nvidia's 8600 (for about $60) or 9600 (for about $100). I have an 8600 in one of my computers and after overclocking it I get 100 frames per second in Team Fortress 2 at 1280x1024 with every setting maxed out.

Depending on your budget, you can easily spend $70 (nVidia 8800GS), $100 (ATI Radeon 3870/nVidia 9600GT), $120 (nVidia 8800GT), or $150 (ATI Radeon 4850) after rebate, if applicable. I would double check your power supply's wattage as well as connectors before buying any video card. A typical 400W should be able to handle the sub $100 cards.
