UPS can't deliver because I'm dead?

I blame this guy:

Okay, I called them and gave them the information, but apparently they are too busy to take care of it. If you do not receive a call within an hour I will call up the higher ups there and see to it that you get your package. This is unheard of! You should be getting a call from "Cheryl" who works at your local center. I told her that you are not dead and that the package may need to be address corrected. The worse case scenario might be that you may need to pick up the package at the local UPS facility if I cannot get it delivered to you.

UPDATE: I have to go and pick up the package today at the local distribution center if I want to get my tv before tomorrow. I'm not too mad - the woman named "Cheryl" called me and after calling her back, I arranged a time to pick it up. She was totally kissing my butt, and apologized for all of this nonsense. When I get there, I'll ask about why that prompt would come up on my tracking information. I just wish UPS would have just stepped it up and delivered it the first time ... if I could get out of my driveway with my small Audi, they could get up with with their big trucks with big-ass chains.

Seriously, if they had CAG of the month, I'd call for you to get it. Going above and beyond the call!

Thank you all for the kind words, they really mean alot to me. I am very appreciative of CAG and it is because of this site that I have a 360, Wii and a backlog of games that will take me well into next year. I feel bad that RudyPants had to go through this ordeal and that his experience with UPS was less than favorable, but hopefully he will continue to use our service in the future. If ANY CAG has any problems with UPS or a package delivery DO NOT HESITATE to pm me and I will do my best to help you out and get the package to you. I think that the only positive here is that the package was not shipped back to the original shipper, which usually happens if someone really has passed away. Finally, to RudyPants, I hope that you hook up that TV tonight! See you XBL. UN = Hardw0od (First o is a zero)

Hmm, I'm only dead to the Missus.

Great job though, guys. Makes me think there should be a forum where people offer their support for various companies, in this case UPS. It's always good to have a man on the inside when things don't seem to be going your way.

Since we have a pro watching any idea how long I can expect a parcel post from New York to Texas take? I really want my 360 for the weekend

Normally it takes 3 - 4 business days. Hope that helps

Glad to see all is well, and that there are still some good people out there who will go out of their way to help someone. I'm proud to be a CAG tonight. :applause:
any idea where they got the deceased thing from?
I picked up my tv tonight (it rocks ass) and asked the girl why this would happen. She said she'd only been working there a few days, so she said she hadn't seen anything like it in her brief experience. I guess this will alwasy be the case of the Haunted UPS Delivery. ;)

I like how the tracking still says the stuff about you being deceased, and then right above it it says the package was delivered. Are they implying you were resurrected or something?

ARE YOU THE MESSIAH!?

When delivering, the driver has a number of options to choose from as an exception scan on the package. He/she could have probably entered in the wrong exception from "Not At Home" to Deceased" or whatever option was close to the "DECEASED" option. I am assuming it was a key error. But it could have been misinformation from a neighbor as well. If you REALLY wanted to know, have the Operations Management Specialist (OMS) track the package within the UPS system and have them tell you which driver entered the exception. Then you can have them ask that driver, or ask them yourself since it is probably your regular driver. (Although it could have been a driver-helper which would explain why there was an error exception in the first place).

I'm glad to hear you got your TV though.
You should of dressed up like a zombie when you got to get your package.
lol This thread has been a great thread to keep track of. It was very light-hearted and made me laugh more than once. I'm sad it's over but I'm glad you finally got your TV RudyPants.

And hardwo0d, you're a good guy. Glad to know you're part of CAG.

the UPS driver prolly hit the wrong button when he keyed in the package. The DIAD board has a 100 reason why you can miss a stop and that is one of em. So he could of hit 4 instead of 5
