USB Keyboard

I like my keyboard, even when playing games that have voice enabled. Although if I had to pay $15-20 I might have been more hesitant (unless I played a lot of games without voice online, which I don't). I searched around and ended up getting a Logitech wireless keyboard for $3.00 in shipping. So, I'd still do that if I had to do it over again.

Oh and I got the keyboard at computersurplusoutlet.com it was a daily special. The keyboard was a refurb, but it looks and acts brand new.

Check out stores like Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, etc... as any USB keyboard will work.

I've seen some on sale for about $5.

I was thinking of using a keyboard for CoN:RoE, but when I checked the list of supported peripherals on the official site (http://championsofnorrath.station.sony.com/router_support.jsp), it lists a Belkin keyboard, the SharkByte one, and two controllers with built-in keyboards - that's it. I want to look into the Belkin one, since I'm sure it's probably the cheapest, but if you're sure that any USB keyboard will work, I might try that.

When I used to play the original Socom I'd use it to talk to people between rounds, but now I guess you don't need it much with Socom 2.

If you are getting FFXI it is a must though.

Well, I tried hooking up an old iMac keyboard, and it seems to work fine with my GameShark. Now I just have to pray that it'll work with games. *crosses fingers*

Almost ANY USB keyboard will work. I got a cheap ass fake iMac keyboard, and it works like a charm. I have no idea why those idiotic game companies put those "compatability" lists up. Just buy a 5 dollar one at Office Max.

How much do you think an average wireless USB keyboard costs? Might as well get a nice keyboard when I get XI since I won't be buying anything else for quite awhile :) .

In the keyboard department, USB is USB is USB.
The only reason you should pay more for a brand that you recognize (i.e. Microsoft, Logitech) is that they will last a hell of a lot longer than some crap ass generic thing you've never seen before.

plus logitech's wireless ones are really nice. I picked up the MX700 set (the one on sale at Staples B&M) this weekend, and it is one helluva nice keyboard. I'm using it temporarily for FFXI due to the wireless feature, and I must say the game is MUCH MUCH better with the keyboard. Communicating with the software keyboard was time consuming and frustrating, and really brought the game experience down.
