Since that's the case, can you tell us how they get new releases on their used shelf so quickly? I thought that what I heard about this "employee check-out" system sounded fishy, but I wouldn't put it above GS. They make more profit on a used sale rather than new copy, after all.
Well, yeah, they do. But your logic here is kinda off.
GameStop buys a copy of Patapon to sell from sony for $16, maybe $17. Profit on new games sucks.
If a store were to sell that new copy as used, they'd only make a dollar, maybe two. Less if you had the GS card.
Now, if somebody bought the new game, then traded it in, GS'd probably buy it for $7. They'd turn around and sell it for $17, making $10.
So for them to take the new ones and sell them as used doesn't make sense, unless they're using WalMart's philosophy (sell TONS at tiny profit a piece for huge total profit.)
And racerman, yeah, you're right. My store, however, is a new one, and we had to gut almost everything to fill up the wall space. So we've got 400 games that haven't been played, but needed to be gutted. It's just the way it works.
