Used PS3 games and online play

If I were to buy a used PS3 game would I be able to play it online?

OK cool. So there will be no issue with already used serials or game keys for online play? Or does the PS3 not even use the game serial registration for online play? Sorry, I am new and just got a PS3

No need to worry. Only recent sports games have specials for new games. Madden is online franchise, MLB The Show is classic ballparks. Any sports game with an 09 or less in it is not playable online anymore due to the servers being down.

some games require you to sign into their website though before you can play online. mgso is one i remember you had to go through alot of shit before you could actually play it online but the majority of games you just go online and play.

Yeah thats what I am worried about. I am worried that I will buy a used game, go online to sign up the used game, and get rejected because the previous owner already registered the same game online.

Zap, you don't have to worry. If you were to sign in you are signing as your own account. It does not matter who had the game before or how many people had the game before. There is no special code required to play online for any PS3 game. Its not like PC games.
