Basically its "unqiue" the story is a bid odd and the way the game plays out is quite original, its sort of the same way that suikoden is like an RPG but distinguishes itself from the crowd.
is this game really that rare?
Is Suikoden 2 really that rare? Suikoden 1 is more rare than 2 I think but costs less. The demand is what counts and since people want this game you can buy it, play it, beat it and then resell it and sometimes even make a profit.

You're right. I actually read somewhere that they made fewer copies of Suikoden than Suikoden II. But since prices are set because of the supply-demand relation, Suikoden II is more expensive. A lot of people really want that game.

As much as I wish that were the case, I have to disagree with you there. Working at GS, I'd say I've seen well over 30 copies of Suikoden 1. Wanna know how many Suikoden II's I've seen? 3, only one of which was complete.

That's because Suikoden 2 is worth money and until recently Suikoden 1 was worth $10 so why not dump it at a gamestore. I haven't seen a copy of Beyond the Beyond at a gamestore in a while and those aren't worth much.

That's just because no one wants to trade in their copy of Suikoden II. IMO rarity has something to do with quantity of the item in existence. The price is higher because there are more people who want it compared to those who wanna sell it.

Suikoden 2 is more rare than it's predecessor as well as being much more valuable.

Yes, it's guranteed that VP is -not- rare. How many copies of a game have to be sold before it achieves Greatest Hits? Several hundred thousand?

(NOT A CRAP! Just a fact. I can't understand why so many people pay so much for such a less-than-stellar game. Same with the Suikoden series.)
