VCR to DVD recorder recomendation

CAGiversary!
I am looking around for one of those VCR to DVD recorders to record some old Disney VHS' that my niece likes to watch. With VHS, it is much easier to ruin the tape so a DVD would be best suited for it.

I have a computer with a TV tuner in it that I used to copy family videos that were on VHS tapes with *ugh* Windows Movie Maker, but it was in small segments and if I used it more than 15 mins, it would start to freeze up so I think an independent device would be great to use.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Pinnacle makes some good packages for this purpose but consider the investment vs. finding a good sale on the same titles on DVD.

Or you could just find torrents for the titles and keep hold of the tapes as proof of purchase.

You just need to capture the video. Then you can use just about any software to burn it into a playable DVD. Remember: GIGO. Garbage in, garbage out. A VHS copy is still going to look like a VHS copy, so spending lots of money on video editing software is foolish.

So true.

I copied about 10 tapes containing old Transformers cartoons to a DVD recorder and the audio seemed better, but the video quality does show when on a DVD. It would be better to torrent the videos than copy them.
