Venture Bros Season 2 Thread

I'm not worried about Brock. Guild types, except Dr. Girlfriend possibly, and others like Molotov Cocktease don't understand his dedication to his adopted family. He's referred to the Ventures as his family repeatedly this season and the episode with Mol subbing for him had him showing considerable affection for the boys in a way Mol found incomprehensible. (Although the Venture boys aren't the first time he's cared for children, as he recalled babysitting the agent who supervised his assessment test to renew his spy credentials.)

I'm still of the belief neither of the boys is the child of Dr. Venture. It is possible for a woman to be impregnated by two men to produce twins. Previously I suspected Dean was at least Dr. Venture's, while Hank was the result of Brock's intercourse with the same woman. But Jonas Jr. introduces a new complication. This last episode shows him suggesting he was conscious of Sally Impossible's magic moment with Rusty. Considering how much more robust a sexual athlete JJ has proven in his short time as an independent being, is it possible he is really Rocket Impossible's father, and further back, Dean's father?

Hank's blond hair is a bit of a clue here. We don't know anything of the supposed woman who birthed the boys, nor Rusty and JJ's mother, so there may be blondes in the family. But the one blond of the appropriate age we do know about is Brock. Will Hank have a massive growth spurt and bulk up if he ever manages to survive being sixteen? Or does he take after his mysterious mother more than Brock?

Of course, it could be there is no mother. Dr. Venture or somebody else may have worked out a means of male parthenogenesis. (Not trivial since males lack a complete genome to work with, unlike females.) Dean could be a clone of Rusty or even Jonas Sr. By the same note, Brock's DNA may have been mixed with Rusty's to produce an offspring of the two of them, making for a very uncomfortable situation that neither Rusty or Brock will ever divulge if it can be avoided.

It's possible, despite what he believes, Dr. Venture is still a virgin and unfairly mocking Billy.
I'm kind of upset over the lack of Brock's eye-twitching this season.
Mediocre episode this last time around ("Love-Bheits"), even though there was a close-up of the eye twitch.

The Monarch is always good for a classic line or two:

"I don't blame you for desiring me. The Monarch is delicious. Now, say it!"

And then there's good 'ol Hank:

"I'm in the bathroom. You've gotta get in here! It smells like, like gunpowered-throwup-poo-poo-eggs!"

Pretty funny episode this time. The scene leading up to
the capturing of Brock and the rest of the Venture family by the Monarch's henchmen
was pretty good.

The final fictional fight in the western cartoon era that is worth watching. It will be remembered threwout comic and non comic history. So who do you think is going to win. I think Dr. Girlfreind is going die and Dr. Venture is going to confess his love for her, and just maybe somebody is going to turn homosexaul or is going show up who is a homosexaul. Maybe the return of Brocks mentor or even Mrs. Venture. Then Sargent Hate is going to realise that they did stole his hovering stuff while Dean might do something incredibley right to the Monarks hover craft. Oh and team DAD is going to come in and shake up things.

In case anyone's wondering, apparently the reason it wasn't on the Fix was cause the plane carrying the tape to [as] got struck by lightning and was delayed. Or at least, that's what I read somewhere.

Yeah, they also aired that right before the ep began on Sunday night. Pretty crazy!

And that would be where I read it! lol. Good thing I remember things and pay attention! ;)
two great episodes.

what do you guys think dr girlfriend said at the end to the monarch
I'm thinking either she's pregnant or use to be a man.

Was that supposed to be Iggy Pop (the guy with his shirt off)? The David Bowie cameo was pretty good, too. It was funny when he was referred to as "the guy from Labyrinth".

I thought they were the two assistants from Rocky Horror

Never seen it (at least not in it's entirety), so I can't confirm.
Any word on a season 3 yet?
I thought Season 3 was confirmed - not sure though.

"The Venture Bros will return..." in the ending credits was a nice touch. :)
what? is season 2 over or something? that didnt seem like nearly as many episodes as the first season.
What do you mean? The new season started back in June and just now ended. That's a good amount of episodes for the season. Actually I think the first season didn't have as many episodes as this season, it felt like the first season was just getting good when it ended. I wonder if we'll see another christmas special this year though.

Well, I'm going throw up some spoiler text...

Was it just me, or was the whole Dean illusion subplot just...unneeded. It was the only thing that seemed to throw off the pacing of the show. It was they wanted to do two things: 1. Show how much Hank wanted to go and fight and 2. Explain why the engines went out in the cocoon. It just seemed to be such a waste of his character.

But, being a huge Bowie fan, I loved all the references they threw in there. (But now I feel old considering I know who Iggy and Klaus are - by the way, did they ever explain why Klaus was alive?)

Otherwise, a fun episode, down to the henchmen being able to fly and never knew it.

As far as what Dr GF said, has it ocurred to anyone that she may have said
that she loves Rusty?

Spoiler 1 - fully agreed.

I was kind of disappointed at who the Soverign turned out to be. It doesn't seem like it would lend itself well to future storylines. I read plot summaries before watching the last 2 eps, and was really hoping for
Jonas Sr.

Ah well.

Interesting...:whistle2:k

She never said that. What I can't believe is that they decided to use a Cameo for this episode. The Flying henchmen was the coop de grace that kept me watching.

This crossed my mind, but
she seems to really love the Monarch, and wasn't really happy to see Dr. V when he came to her room.
Whatever it is, the wait will be long, no matter how soon Season 3 airs!

Well, time to throw up a big spoiler response:
In the first season, she did defend Rusty and told Monarch that the two of them were a lot alike. I'm not doubting she loves Monarch, but he is too obsessed with Rusty. (I mean, how thrilled would you be if, on your wedding day, "the one that got away" comes into your room hitting on you - especially when you deceived that one? That can't be a comfortable situation...)
My theory is that she knows that Rusty loves her, and doesn't see her as Number Two, as she accused Monarch of treating her as. To her, she may see Rusty as a sweet guy that is not obessed with a disinterested archenemy, and would treat her as an equal.

Plus, how great would it be to see Brock's reaction, since she is the only woman he's turned down? ;)

I know a lot of people think that she's pregnant (especially since Monarch noted that her breasts seem bigger), but that is still too obvious for me, and this show is not known for going for the obvious...more or less. And Jackson Publick has stated that she is not a post-op, we can rule out the whole "I used to be a man" idea.

Yeah, this is going to be a long wait - I can't wait to see the theories that are even stranger than mine!
