Here's is a great cheap ass deal that I saw on DVD talk. Verbatim DL media has been reported to be 29.99 at Best Buy tomorrow. Its funny because I was just looking for some cheap dl media.

If some of you are wondering why verbatim brand media is so special its because its one of the BEST brands out there.

This is the best media around better than all of the media typically sold at B&M stores.
On other websites even Newegg 35.99 with 4.99 shipping so this is a awesome deal any way you look at it.

Reward zone 12% coupon +media = 26.39 +tax

Second edit-- Can anyone find/post anything better than 12% off to be a true cheap ass? I will edit my post to include the coupon but give you credit.

No i don't have a link, i'm been looking for one and will update my post accordingly once i find it. I cant seem to find the updated ciruclar but i will post the two links on different forums i found that were citing this deal for now.

If you have a microcenter in your area they have 10 pack WinData 8x DL 8.5gb DVDs for $9.99. $1 a Disc.... the best deal to me. It is not on their website though, Only in the actual store

Well I'd have to say that the analogy you used might not be all that great unless you would have said "That's like comparing a Ford tempo to a Poshe Carerra GT since Ford does have the Ford GT $150,000 but that's another story. I have many cds from 1999 that are burned on cheap media and to this day they play perfectly and have no scratches or signs of deteriation so unless you do not take care of your media I really do not think it matters what the brand is + the Windata is 8x and only takes 16 minutes to copy a disc. But then again you never know if the disc will last. So valid point on the verbatim disc, just not a good analogy

If one is to back up his 360 games do you need a modded 360? or will it play with no mods?

these are, by far, the best dual-layer discs you can buy. I've gone through at least 60, and haven't had a single bad burn... as opposed to the memorex spindle I tried with roughly a 30% coaster rate.

whats the deal with DVD-R DVD+R DVD+RW DVD+R DL DVD-R DL, and do brands really matter, they're all just dvds right?

AFAIK it all depends on the dye that the different companies use. From personal experience i can say that ive never had a coaster with a Verbatim, but i have with Memorex, Sony, JVC, etc.

I remember getting a 25pk of Memorex DVD+DL's for $30 @ Comp USA a while back, about 5 of the 25 "coastered" randomly.

I just bought one of these 20 packs last week @ Best Buy for $50, good thing they do price matching. Gonna bring the receipt tomorrow and get another set for $10.
