Sweet. $20 Bomberman DS after GGC. Bout time BB actually has some DS deals. Thanks for the ads, TSD.
With the GGC that's a pretty sweet price. The only problem will be actually finding it. My BB hardly has any DS games.

Finding the "old" $19.99 GGC may be the even harder part, since I think I found one BB that has the "old" GGC's, sitting up at CustSvc, of course.

Funny how CC will have Lego SW in their ad for $20 and BB will have it in their ad for $40. :D I snared it last night and will go PM the $22 back on Sunday. Should be amusing.

That's pretty pathetic on BB's part to have Lego Star Wars at $40.

For all those that want the game like myself, a great way to get the game and screw BB is go to them and buy Lego Star Wars at $40 on Sunday. Head over to book store/do some other errands/shopping, come back later with the CC ad and say you bought the newspaper and found the ad. It's a lot of work I know, but this way BB will have to live up their guarantee of matching a competitor's price and give you the extra 10% off. After the discount, it will almost be the same price for the game if it had been after GGC.

Oh and that Bomberman for $19.99 is very tempting again. I have the GGC at my store and if this is the first in a looooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggg time that BB has had any good DS/GBA game deal. I've already past it up at Fry's for this price, but I'm not sure I could do it again.

I wish the game that was on sale this week was Polarium though. Getting that for $19.99 or $14.99 would have been great. That's what I'm waititng for.

My BB has tons of them. I bought 4 the other day. They have a bunch of Gamers Gift Cards in the game section, Xbox Cards, PS2 Cards and some GGC at the check out area. I think I must be the only CAGer in my area.

So then the final price would be reduced to $18 instead of $16 (as shrike also mentioned)? Just something I noticed when using BB GGC's at CC, too.

Those of you planning on PMing at Best for LSW might want to consider picking it up this week and then going back for a price adjustment. The reason I say that is because I think if it's a current sale they will only match the price, but if you buy it and then find it cheaper at a later date that is when they give the extra 10%. I don't know if this was already mentioned and I am not 100% sure if that is the policy, but I am pretty sure it is.

And yes, the extra 10% is on the difference only.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is really tempting for $19.99 (after GGC coupon). I think I can wait just a bit longer for the inevitable $19.99 price point. Too bad all of the BBs around here are sold out of the Limited Collector's Edition (which would still be full MSRP if BB had their way).

Yaeh, it's off the difference. I was confusing what I had done with a previous deal/sale. My Fry's had Burnout 3 for $14.99 and BB was still selling it for $39.99 so I came in and did the whole thing. Forgot it was off the difference for a second there.

That's correct. The PM's price would be $18, not $16. $40 - $20 - 10% of $20 = $18. Using the GGC with it would shaft you out of $0.50, for the penny squeezers out there. $35 - $15 - $1.5 = $18.50.

I used $15 worth of RZ certs, so I'll end up getting it for $3. :D

You could pick it up in store for full price, then walk over to the Customer Service counter, show them the ad and then have them give you the $22 back. If you did the PM at the time of purchase, BB will only give you the PM'd price, or for $20. At least, that's what my BB's do here, and other people have picked up the PM + 10% difference price at time of purchase. I picked it up yesterday and had it covered that way.

Trying to use the GGC + PM at time of purchase is a very YMMV thing, since when you use a PM or any other manual price change, the register doesn't allow any other coupons to be used. Most of the time, it won't work, becuase a PM is a "other offers or deals" area that the GGC use isn't permitted.

I'm happy Lego Star Wars is down to $20. Remember, Wal-Mart, Gamestop, and most big stores will price match! Just bring in the ad.

they are supposed to but many of the empplyees won't mention it and may not do it.

Actually the 10% could potentially be taken off the total price, not just the difference.

In May, I think I PM with Fry's ad for both Lego Star Wars and Forza (both were $34.99 at Fry's)... I went to the CS desk and asked for the PM and the 10% difference at the same time... The BB CSR actually PM AND gave me a 10% discount off the total price... so the games came out to around $30 each. My reciept states a 10% discount.

Of course this is YMMV and you have to count on a BB clerk slipping up.

I know a girl who works at Gamestop. She told me one day, "Ya know we pricematch and nobody even knows about it!"

So yeah, they are supposed to pricematch. Some employees are dumbasses though so they might not do it.

Oh wow, I have a question (I know it has been answered before but I don't remember and I can't find it).

Best Buy has Conker for 39.99. Starts on the 24th. I bought Conker at Circuit City on June 24th, exactly 30 days prior. Can I bring in my reciept, copy of the game, and the ad and get 10 dollars back?

You'll get $11 back, since they'll PM it + 10%.

I would like to get Bomberman DS for 19.99, but I rather wait for Bomberman Online. Which it's going to be WiFi just like Animal Crossing and Mario Kart.
anyone know if the Nintendo DS bundled with Mario will be the blue DS?
It can be either color was my understanding of it. I bought it with the silver/Platinum/Titanium color and they said it could be either color.

isnt the online bomberman a new game?
So it will work then, on the 30th day?
The 30 days are inclusive to the 30th day. On Monday, you might not be so lucky.
I'd make sure that BB has it in stock before you to go to CC to get the PM, since it's the last day. And check the BB closest to your CC, just to make sure you have every angle covered.

Feel free to go to BB, stash a few copies somewhere in the game section, and then go to CC and get your PM. :D They just need to be in stock long enough for you to get your PM.

Most of the time for me, CC doesn't even bother checking with the other store for availability. BB, on the other hand, does.

what is the better version of Lego star wars? xbox or ps2? I read your guys early posts and it seems you think the xbox version is better but then i read some reviews and they said the ps2 has fewer bugs. Have you ever had any major bugs on the xbox version?

obviously the XB has better graphics and sound (but not by much)... controls shouldn't be a factor since you basically just mash 1 or 2 buttons anyways... the ps2 is a blue disc so if you can't read these games, avoid it.

i'm not sure if which version is buggier... i own the xb version and it froze on me once so far... but that was in the "free play" mode. me and my friend were both using darth maul in an episode III level when it suddenly froze midway through the level. not sure about ps2 since i never played that one before.

I think I had a similar experience where the game froze up once or twice under similar circumstances. I distinctly remember leaping through the air, rapidly cycling through the different free-play characters available to me, and then trying an attack or something at the same time. Must've been too much for the system (or simply badly written code) to handle. Thankfully, it only happened that once (or twice), and your progress is saved after each level. Had to play through that tough Kashyyk(sp?) level again, too, though unlocking everything in that particular level is pretty tough; it took me a number of tries (with invincibility on?) to get everything in the end.

Two things in Target's "Get Into the Game" newsletter:

Mario Sunshine and Pokemon Colosseum show up as $16.00, not $16.88... but since their website isn't very complete, nothing is available on the website to check this. Any way to save that 88 cents in-store as a result?

Also, it shows Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life OR Super Smash Brothers Melee are $44.00. This is obviously a typo as the games retail for $20 and $30 respectively. Is this supposed to be "AND" (both together), wrong price or is this just a totally messed up ad? Not listed in the weekly ad at all.

thanks again shrike... i went to CC today, got 11$ back, and got a copy of Project Snowblind for Xbox. I still saved like 32 cents after tax.

Gah, I just saw the updates. In addition to LSW, now there's Splinter Cell for cheap, as well as a slightly discounted Conker. I don't have much game time these days, but I want those.

Thanks a lot, TSD. I'm going to end up buying all these games and have no birthday money left over to get drunk on (my 21st in on the 30th). ;)

It is a damn crime if your friends dont fund your 21st gala. If theres even a hint they might not, drop them all NOW and find new ones, pronto.
My friends are, for the most part, penniless bastards.

And of course I use the word "bastard" in the nicest possible way.

I would celebrate with you if you weren't on the opposite coast...

This is true about the penniless bastard part however for you 21st I could get some scratch together if needs be.

Your friends probably have something already planned/lined up. Just make sure you drop them a few reminders as to when it is.

On topic, whats with all the good deals lately? Why do they always come AFTER I blow a wad of cash. Splinter Cell should be mine. Grrr.

No, no... while I appreciate the sentiment, I could never allow it.

I know how you feel on the deals. I've missed out on a ton of stuff for similar reasons. Either that, or I find out about the deal too late.

I'm wondering if the trade in value of Lego Star Wars is at or slightly above $20. We could all benefit if that is the case.
Thanks TSD for the post...I picked up Lego SW for the PS2.
Thanks from me as well!! By the way, did anyone use the $5 off Best Buy coupon for the PS2 version? Did Circuit City (or Best Buy if you pricematched) honor it on this game?

Same here... I think I started off with Darth Maul characters, kept cyclying through the characters in free play mode... I think it froze shortly after that. Not sure if it was an isolated incident because I have never played the game since it froze.

But it happened to you too so it may be a common occurence in the XB version.

Give it another try! And if you manage to unlock everything, there's a decent bonus mission to explore at the end. Sweet. I honestly can't wait for the (inevitable) sequel.
