They're really cool lil devices. Their LCD screens rival that of a GBA SP. Not bad for $24 each.



VG Pocket Caplet:
Comes in four colors; blue, silver, red, orange. Has a very bright 2.5” backlit 960 x 240 TFT display. Considered 16-bit. Graphics are considered an improvement over those of the earlier models of the VG Pocket. The unit is powered by 3 AAA batteries. Comes with 50 built-in games which includes 3 licensed through Taito: “Space Invaders,” “Bust-A-Move,” and “Burger Time.” The unit has the capability of being displayed on any TV set with the purchase of a separate “starter kit” that includes a storage carrying case and special AV cables unique to the system.


VG Pocket Tablet:
Comes in four colors, orange, green, red, and white. Has a very bright 2” backlit 640 x 240 TFT display. Considered 8-bit. The unit is powered by 3 AAA batteries. Comes with 25 built-in games which includes Konami's classic Frogger. The unit has the capability of being able to hookup and play on a TV set with the purchase of a separate “starter kit” that includes a storage carrying case and AV hookup cables. Games included are remakes or clones of classic arcade and 8-bit console games.

I've got a caplet. The screen is a lot nicer than you'd expect.

The non-licensed games kinda suck. They're shallow and most don't have more than a couple levels programmed into them.

The good side is that there are clones of pretty much every puzzle game you can think of. And Puzzle Bobble.

Yes, the screen is MUCH nicer than I thought it would be... especially given the price. I was surprised just how clear and bright it was. I think I'm going to get one of those stick-on screen protectors for it though... as I have heard of some instances of the screen getting easily scratched up.

Not all of the games are winners, but the puzzle clones definitely make it worth the while. Also, some of the old school arcade clones arent half bad either. The unit makes for good waiting room type fun... when you want something to bide the time, but dont want to get too deeply involved.
 
I saw these at GS/EB and wondered what they were. At first I thought they were candy boxes :x
