I have a blue ray rip which has too high of a bit rate to stream on my network. Usually when this happens I just toss it on a USB drive and watch it from that. But This file is 5.2GB, and thus won't take a file over 2^32 bytes (4GB). The PS3 won't take USB stick unless it is formatted fat.

Any ideas besides upgrading my network, and re-encoding file at lower bit-rate?

The ps3 does a lot of shit but some things don't work so well. This is one of them. IMO, too much of a headache to deal with it. Got a laptop with hdmi? Use that if you do.

I ran into the very same issue recently, my solution was to burn the Blu-ray files onto a Dual layer DVD (DVD-DL). It worked out great, both my PS3 and LG Blu-ray Player can play the discs without any issues.
