Hey everyone,
I've owned a Wii since 2006, but I haven't used it in awhile. I recently started playing it again, but for some reason virtual console games display a black screen. I can still hear sound, and if I press the home button, you can see what the game should be displaying (ex: super mario bros start screen). As soon as you return to the game, the screen blacks out again.
Gamecube and Wii games work just fine, no problems there. For reference, I've tried loading Gunstar Heroes, Sonic 1, and Super Mario Bros with the same results. I did the system update before playing the Wii at all. The Wii is connected to my Sony 32" 1080p HDTV through component cables. I don't know why the screen blacks out; virtual console games displayed with no issue using the same setup 3 years ago when I last played it. Anyone else have this issue?
