Virtual Credit Card - How to get one?

My wife needs to make a purchase on some custom clothing website, and apparently they have been hacked a few times in the past based on discussion on her forums. Anways, does PayPal still offer a virtual Credit Card? I know I could buy a pre-paid VISA, but I believe they are like $5 just to activate....

Any suggestions?
 
I'd imagine they do if other prepaid credit cards are like that. But a little bit charged is better than losing a fortune with real credit card.
 
Maybe you should call your bank, see if they offer anything like that. I know some banks can do virtual credit cards. Or safe prepaid credit cards.

Discover has a decent rewards program (5% back) but isn't as widely accepted as Visa or MC. Definitely worth applying unless you think it'll stretch your credit/score too far.

PayPal had this service for a short while but terminated it a few years ago, hinting that it could return in the future. I hope it does because it was very convenient.

Also Citibank and BofA.
 
Yeah, I used to use the paypal one all the time! It really sucks it was cancelled, and for no apparent reason that I could figure out. The options are pretty limited out there. I think the poster before me mentioned the ones left. You would think more banks would take this more seriously and offer this simple service...
 
Maybe just tell your wife she doesn't need to buy from a place that can't keep their customers' personal and billing information safe.
