Vita: complain, praise, debate, and price drop cry thread
Those 2 reasons right there are the 2 main reasons why I just zone out the Vita trolls now. Mainly because the first is the primary basis for their blind hatred and the second is the ridiculous argument that they always resort to. The lack of games is always cited as either: A) a sign of the Vita's premature death or B) the reason it is teh suxorz... When in reality post launch drought affects EVERY system.

Anyone remember when we were clamoring so badly for a new shooter after Call of Duty 2 on the 360 that the Outfit seemed like it'd be a fun game...? That 360 sure has ended up doing pretty poorly...

How about the fact that the PS3's launch price would be the deathknell for Sony's video game decision? Well, turns out the PS3 is now only about 10% behind 360 in sales...
Except I have a Vita. Had one since a few days before the "official" launch. I have games for it.

It still sucks. No games are available for the thing besides ports. It's been out for months now and Sony shows no love for it. If it was so awesome and amazing it wouldn't be bombing hard in sales right now. It's only been out for what, 3 months? The thing is dead in Japan (land of
Right. Enjoy Uncharted which is run, run, climb, shoot the same 4 enemies, rub the screen, repeat.

I enjoyed Uncharted, I know people were down on it, but I thought the story was great. I'm not really sure what people were expecting. I really hope they do PS1 support soon, that's about the only complaint I have at the moment. WE'll see after a year if Vita makes it, people pronounced the 3ds dead in the water after a few months, and it seems to be doing just fine right now.
I'm hopping they're more aggressive with their content offerings.Try recruiting iphone devs, lower prices for download only games and applications.Shit they've got to do something.
I was thinking about that... How nice it would be to have some full featured games (possibly special editions) of games like NOVA and shadow gun on the system, for about 2-5 dollars with online play. But if you release those kind of high quality games at 4-5 dollars, then why should anyone ever pay 40 dollars for any game. What's the difference between Uncharted (40) and Shadow gun (5) on a handheld.....(particularly on the vita). The question is what game could they release right now that would MAKE you, me, or anyone else pick up a Vita. Everyone who has one now, are the early adopters and they would buy one regardless, the rest of us, need some convincing.

These games would make me pick up a Vita immediately:
Castlevania Symphony of the Night 2
any F-Zero clone (not wipeout)
Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core 2 (storywise I don't even know if that's possible)
Borderlands game staring clap trap.
Remake of Parasite Eve: 3rd Birthday (that game never should have been released on vita)
Sony needs a PSP game trade in program - where you can trade in psp games for store credit, towards the purchase of vita titles, or a vita itself.

Overall I need some games that are kinda exclusive to the Vita and not just clones of PS3 games.

edit: SHUMPS... lots of side scrolling SHUMPS
Haha, defending against preposterous claims is "fanboying it up", priceless.

Vita is in roughly the same place the 3DS was at this point and the 3DS is doing just fine now. Every new platform/console sees a drop in sales after launch and very few new releases. It's more than premature to be all "the sky is falling" with the Vita just because it isn't flying off the shelves, unable to keep in stock successful.

Your claims are just plain ridiculous. You are easily the most bombastic poster when it comes to new technology. My mentioning on blu ray was intentionally done to point out your history of absolutely blasting it and claiming it would fail only to end up jumping right on board as soon as HD DVD went under.
Same place? At this point, the 3DS had Zelda. Vita has nothing.

Keep playing it up. Sony really needs all your help to move this turd.

Ports of crappy games for the Vita. Zelda 64 is one of the greatest games of all time (I don't agree, but damn near every other publication and website does).

Comparing the 3DS to Vita is laughable. 3DS is actually selling. Vita is not.

Thanks.

We know you can't actually discuss anything and resort to 12 year old tactics like posting a meme. Good for you. Schools out for summer I see.

The first reviews of Resistance are up. Mixed bag. Some surprisingly really low scores, and some equally confusing high scores. This might be one that I stay away from for a few months, just to see if things get patched up.

I'd like to be able to leave an online game, go to my friends list / messaging / whatever and come back to the online game without getting booted. For offline / not needing to be connected games the 'suspend' of a game is dandy, but there should be some hook devs could use for online connected games that keeps you connected and in sync when you swap apps (short of starting a new game or whatnot).

I'll never understand why people get so wound up about loving or lambasting stuff like this. I hope the Vita succeeds because I genuinely like it. I couldn't stand playing on the 3DS I had. I hope they both do well so the market continues to flourish in general. If they don't something new will come along because corporations are always looking for ways to make more money.

Just for fun (and to kill time at work) I put together a list of the first 4 months of (retail) game releases for both the 3ds and Vita. The lists look surprisingly similar - they each had a couple racing games, a Rayman game, a Capcom fighting game port and a BlazBlue port, some first party rehashes (Zelda and Pilotwings for 3ds, HSG and Resistance for Vita), etc etc etc.

In reality I think that at least in the first four months gamewise they weren't that disimilar at all. Obviously this doesn't change anything about sales numbers and whatnot, but it should hopefully put a little perspective on the game situation. Maybe not, people do love to bicker with each other.

Get out of this thread if you can't handle it. Read what the title of the thread is. If you want to wax on about how great the Vita is go somewhere else. Not everyone likes it and judging by sales, its turning into another loser for Sony.
