VPN/dsl issue

Ok, since AT&T are basically idiots, I'm taking this question to the computer geeks among you.

I have DSL, wireless router, all work fine, connect great. When I have to use a VPN put on by my work, I get in, get authorized, and within 2 minutes--tops--I get kicked off with an error message that says I've lost my connection.

Now, the kicker is, when I'm on the road, at hotels or wireless cafes, I can connect no problem, stay on as long as I need. And someone just recently told me that SBC/AT &T block some ports that VPNs typically use.

Any thoughts? I could use the help.

would love to help but I don't have att/sbc as an internet provider. I would assume that you have a firewall in the router, and that it is allowing connection via the vpn
