Sending Paypal as a gift for the purchase of items is against Paypal's TOS. Furthermore, if there was an issue with a chargeback, the payer can't contact Paypal for any issues with it.

To net $290 Paypal for the payee, the payerr would need to send $298.97.

Fair enough. I think the mods need to make a sticky or go through many of the threads that blatantly ask for funds to be sent via gift paypal.
