First off, sorry if this has already been posted. I didn't see it anywhere else on the forums.

I was walking through my local Wal Mart today while I was getting my oil changed and I noticed that alot of the video games where reduced in prices as some sort of "meet and beat" against various other stores.

Im not sure if this is just my local Wal Mart (Vancouver, WA Salmon Creek location), or this applys to all Wal Marts.

Im also not sure if this is a regular thing that they do, i've seen it done once before a few weeks back.

Anyway, the prices (good through 7/17)

Nice. Lucky you. Mine just recently put games on clearance.

Madden 2004 on Gamecube is now available for the low, low price of $39.99 and Buffy is now $19.99.. also saw the Haunted Mansion on XBox for the very low price of $39.99.. my Wal-Mart sucks a big one.

lol.....I was gonna make this thread after I went into the Salmon Creek Walmart and saw those prices. Now although they dont have them marked cause they are in the rear endcap I was able to get Call of Duty and R6 3 for the Xbox at those prices.

no fair...the cheapest things i ever see at walmart are platinum hits/greatest hits/player's choice games...which are marked at like 19.94. grrrrrr

Hmmm... I'm near Portland. I may have to swing up there and check it out. Hate to pay that damn WA sales tax though :D.

AndrewgeddoN, where exactly is that Walmart? I see 2 in Vancouver, and one is just off 205 (convenient for me) and the other is just off I-5 (not so convenient). Neither seems to be a "Salmon Creek" one. The I-5 one is near 99th st, and the I-205 one is off Mill Plain. Or is there another that walmart.com is not showing me? I hope it is the Mill Plain one, because I can hit another Walmart off 205 in Oregon on the way up.

Well, at least don't have the jokers at Wal-mart do it. It's usually worth the $20 to me not to have to get out the equipment, crawl under the car, grease the joints, and take the oil to a designated disposal location.

i got up early today and and misread it big time... alwasys wondered what those walmart people did at 3 in the morning :)

This is nothing new around here...
All my local Wal-Marts have a low price guarentee.
Find a lower advetised price and they will beat it.
They usually have a display at the front of the store with all the other stores ads hanging on it.

Hey... think you can take a pic of the price tags for the 2 RE games? I wonder if walmart would PM their own store....
Thanks!

Sure, but who are they price matching at the OP's store to get Resident Evil 4 under $14?

Looks like that $1,000 printer is paying off...

All of the tags that I saw said they where beating Staples, wich I found odd... I didn't even know that Staples sold video games. Could have been a printer mistake, could be some secret code they use to mess with the AndrewgeddoN. Jerks.

DarienW: I suppose I could, if I can find a digital camera from one of the friends to use. I'll try to do that tonight (might not be until late tonight, but...)

io: Going 1-5 north, take the 78th street exit. Follow the exit right, then take a left at the light. You'll see Wal Mart on the left hand side after a couple of minutes.

As far as oil changes go, im a lazy bastards. Change it myself? I don't even like walking under my own power, let alone actual work. And yeah, the loser at Wal Mart probably don't know oil from applesauce, but as long as they don't blow up my car... meh.

Oh yeah... hehe... meet... beat. Probably wouldn't have been as funny if I had planed it out...

Not to be an ass because I'm sure everyone is gonna want one - but anybody want to pick me up an RE4 for $15 and shipping?

You know, it'd make you cool.

I knew my Wal-Mart wouldn't have the exact same deal, but hearing about this convinced me to stop by one on the way home. Nothing spectactular, but they did have a 2 for $20 bin that contained Puyo Pop Fever and Spiderman 2 for GC, so I'm happy.

Stopped by Wal-Mart last night (the one by Northtown Mall) and all I'm going to say is that that location must be run by stupid apes. No game bin, and certainly no indication anywhere in the store. So yeah its YMMV indeed.
