Wal-Mart Return Policy -- No Receipt -- Question (Not an attempt to scam!)

Question folks...

I've got two games I purchased from Wal-Mart in the past 60 days, but I managed to lose the receipt. They were gifts for a relative, so I didn't bother to keep it... but I ended up giving 'em a different gift.

Here's my problem -- I had to return some Wal-Mart.com items back in December, and the employee didn't know how to ring up a .com return ... so they did it as a "no receipt return" and gave me cash. There were three items I returned, and she said that I was "at the limit".

Here's my question -- does anyone know if the "3 returns a year" is per calendar year (2004), or based on the past 12 months of user history? If it's based on the last 12 months, Wal-Mart has been annoying. If it's during the calendar year, I should be okay.

It's 12-months of user history last time I heard...But, you should be able to return them if you purchased with a credit card. If not, have your wife/friend/mother/father/brother/sister return it for you using their ID.

Wait -- the returns are tied to each Wal-Mart individually, and NOT to a national Wal-Mart registry?

See, this is when the "more creative" members of CAG can help me out. Heh.

So why go to the bother of putting "NOT A SCAM" in the title when vegas odds say SCAM is a heavy favorite and the plucky underdog NOT A SCAM has about a 1% chance of winning. Christ.

... perhaps because I'm not trying to scam anyone, but the folks with the best knowledge of how the system works are those who are often considered "scammers"?

Their return policy is tied together.

In Pennsylvania they register your DL # and it will come up in their system if you've done returns, for how much or how many. I got so ticked one Christmas holiday when I had a bunch of exchanges, my birthday is during the holiday season, and I wasn't allowed to make a fourth exchange.

I don't know if this carries over nationally but I do know you can't attempt to break this max in the same state.

OP, when you returned the 3 items in December, why did they put them as seperate returns and put you at your limit vs 1 return with 3 items?
