Walmart and Madden

When will Walmart stock their madden games because I am wanting to pick up at midnight tonight any help would be appreciated.

having waited there once for a dvd release, it WILL be at midnight that they start allowing them to be sold

I remeber back in the infancy of dvds, I used to be able to always find new releases at Wal Mart days earlier than their intended release date

They have the displays in the back ready to go out,so if you cant find it just ask some one to go to recieving and look for it.As long as its after midnight

I can't understand the madness of running out at midnight to buy this. Its the same freakin game as last year just with roster updates. What is the big deal other then that? Someone please explain this to me as I just don't get it....
I figured most of the folks here would be boycotting this title... guess not.
I am still boycotting this game.

First off, let me say I am NOT a madden fanboy. Im devistated by ESPN being gone like you cant imagine.

However, to say Madden is just a roster update every year is BS. I will painfully admit that they do innovate more than just new rosters however they do NOT innovate nearly as much as others did or they should.

Why Im still buying it. Im a huge NFL fan. Huge. For near 20 years of my life, part of my NFL fandom has involved owning a football game. That feeling doesnt go away because of what happened. Yeah, it sucks. And yeah, maybe Im being a giant ass by doing it. But footballs a big part of my life and the videogame aspect is a big part of football.

2k being gone sucks but Im not going to deny myself everything just because "lifes unfair"

Madden on the Xbox, PS2, Gamecube look like crap compared to the screens that got released for the XBox 360.......... wait til Nov and pick that up.......... its not worth it right now

And the 360 madden will be the same damn game with a prettier coat of paint over top it.

Im not a graphics whore so its not worth waiting 2 months and paying at least $10 more for "skins" overtop of the player models.
I am still boycotting this game.
I am too, but I admit that it's difficult. Then I think about how they tried to sell Madden 2005 DS as a game that people should pay money for, then I realize how bad they need to be slapped.

EA does rank highly on buyblue.org, but that's still not good enough for the bastids that done took away our NFL 2K6.

The problem is the NFL is just as guilty. And theres no way Ill ever have the strength to hate the NFL (so long as they dont go all NHL sometime) :whistle2:(

it's not that i hate EA. I just realized that i played madden 2004(I still play it today) more than 2005. So unless this game is just absouletly amazing I'm gonna pass on it.

as a sports fan this is very important, if this wasnt, all we would have are unlicensed sports titles sporadically released over time

Though I do need reminding of the NFL's greed and equal culpability, I don't think I spend any money that the NFL gets. No shirts, so satellite packages, no Cincinnati Bengals couch covers...nothing. It's a warm feeling.

2004 was an incredible step up from 2003s nasty fest. It still pales in comparison to 2k5 though.

My biggest fear is how Im going to go back. I quit madden cold turkey then stumbled into 2k5 and realized Madden wasnt so hot (at least for my style, for me) Now Im forced to take a step backwards, maybe even a giant one, at the cost of my soul + $50. Ugh.

I do my best to limit myself. And I flat out refuse the Sunday Ticket as that is the biggest scam in sports, period.

Even more fun is now they are charging $100 more if you want to get the games in HD. Keep in mind, 95% of these games are broadcast locally FREE in HD (over the air) Oh, and not *every* game is even HD. Only *select matchups* $400 to get maybe 1 or 2 of your teams games in HD, the rest regular. What a rape.

I never played 2k, always have played Madden so ill pick mine up tonight or order for 40 on outpost with that fantasy football crap. I dont see why people hate EA, its business, just like MVP wont get a 2006 version which is a shame, since its the best baseball game i had played since like baseball stars

I hear some are going to pick this up used so EA doesn't get any of the money ;)

I won't be buying it, but that's because I never spend $50 for a game.

And in this case, their business practices are antithetical to the choices of the consumer. What's not to get about that? Do you excuse businesses that use third-world labor to assemble your shoes and clothing, shrug your shoulders and say "that's business!"?

I'm not comparing the license grabbing to be equivalent to underpaid labor by any means, but at some point you have to realize that business practices are pro-business and thus anti-human (including laborer and consumer alike). "It's just business" took away a choice that we would expect the consumer to make, right? To what degree do you think it's appropriate for business to make decisions for you? You do realize that "it's just business" has more meaningful applications outside of gaming, I assume.
I'm boycotting this game. Then again, I don't buy any sports games.
So you're not exactly boycotting then, are you?

I would love to boycott EA, but this is the only football game coming out on the Gamecube this year (unless they released Mario Football or something), so I'm afraid I will be picking it up. :whistle2:(

Well if you guys are wanting to hear from someone who has played Madden 06.....

The gameplay has been tweaked from the small amount of time I've had with the game. The most noticeable is it is harder to hit stick someone, it has to be timed better and angled correctly (unlike last year).

The animations still pale in comparison to those of the ESPN series (the one new one I like alot though is the receivers looking back for the ball when its thrown to them).

The "vision and precision"is not just a gimmick, it's actually very handy and works very well. Precision passing is also great but hard to pull off. Also, you're going to need to make some adjustments to QB'ing, as it seems defenders penetrate a lot quicker than last year.

"Truck stick" works waaaaaaaay way way way too well, expect alot of big runs. There are alot of new adjustments for hot routes, Defense shifting, o-line block shifting, and now even DB shadowing.

Superstar mode is actually pretty cool, although I have only made it to the first preseason game so far. My only beef is that your parent's DNA affects how good you are at your position. If you want to change position, I'm under the impression your ratings won't be as good as your "designated" position.

Well, that's all from me. A lot of you will have this game in a little while anyway. Have fun.

lol i just came back from gamestop...my friend unfortunately asked me to come along...

anyways im glad theyc ame because my gamestop were giving away free food (hotdogs, brownies) etc

Do you watch any NFL games? If so, then you are supporting the NFL by increasing their ratings and thereby increasing their ad revenue.

;)
So you're not exactly boycotting then, are you?
No, but if I did play sports games I would boycott this shitfest.

Just came home from Wal Mart with my Madden '06 (it was free, my mom gets me this game every year as a tradition.)
They had it at midnight, I waited 5 minutes for my copy as they had people guarding a cart full of various versions. One guy was mad the PC version wasn't there apparently.
Screw waiting an hour at EB!!
im boycotting it
i hate EA because they took my baby away :( (im talking about the nfl 2k series)
Don't hate EA, hate the NFL. EA just had the money to offer that SEGA didn't.

Not that it matter but my mom used to do that with me for the new smackdowns.

That probably was my friend. He plays all sports games on PC cause he does the online league.
gamestop were giving away free food (hotdogs, brownies) etc
Last time I went to gamestop for a midnight release. It was with my friend for Halo 2. They had food. It was 20 fucking degrees and they had stuff like chips and salsa as well as brownies or something like that outside of the store. I just grabbed a can of pop. And yes their was people eating the food and no they were not fat.

I don't play sports games any more since I stopped with Blitz and QB Club on the 64, why are people saying that they are boycotting EA?
